Re: Defensive Settings Completely Removed from Next-Gen.
It seems like 14 has that 2k12 sag/help defense issue where people help and leave shooters for no reason. I posted a link earlier in this post showing video of the problem.
The corner threes are a problem because the corner off ball defender will run into the paint at the wrong time and over commit when he doesn't have to. Of course the hof sim cpu knows how to trigger help defense regardless of what poe you use, and once the help is triggered its an instant pass for a corner three.
The only thing I can do so far is switch to the help defender or if I am lucky I can jump that moving screen they set. I get hit for at least 10 threes a game. If I figure it out before the 2k guy gives us an insight on the "under the hood" workings I will post it.
But the help defense is the main gameplay issue I see on next gen.Psn: Alabamarob

Re: Defensive Settings Completely Removed from Next-Gen.
It's not placebo. Guys don't immediately jump to the paint as soon as you make a move. The perimeter bumping is dramatically reduced. Defenders aren't robots.
Can I record video and share without the patch? If I can, I'll post as much video as you want. Keep in mind, I will only post pre-patch game play because my copy is digital. In order to remove it, it makes me re download the game and install it. This takes hours and don't feel like doing it, but I will buy a hard copy soon and at that point, I will post videos of the same teams executing the same plays. You'll see the difference. It's by no means subtle.Comment

That would be great. You can use the Twitch.tv streaming on the PS4. Have you been able to go back and forth between pre and post-patch gameplay to compare? It's not placebo. Re: Defensive Settings Completely Removed from Next-Gen.
I literally just made a thread posting on these exact same issues. Glad to know it wasn't just me. I really do not understand how 2K doesn't see these things during testing, and I hope that they work to get it patched ASAP. This is one of the main issues ruining my enjoyment of this game right now.It seems like 14 has that 2k12 sag/help defense issue where people help and leave shooters for no reason. Re: Defensive Settings Completely Removed from Next-Gen.
I lowered help defense in sliders down to 100. Helped a ton.Comment

Re: Defensive Settings Completely Removed from Next-Gen.
What?
Lowering slider values doesn't really help and certainly doesn't prevent the defense from warping to the paint as soon as you enter a command on the controller.

Re: Defensive Settings Completely Removed from Next-Gen.
come on 2k
is this patchable? i very much doubt it
everyone plays d like the miami heat, overplaying passing lanes and picking you up as soon as you cross half court, even the bigs get defended tight lol, what a joke this isComment

Re: Defensive Settings Completely Removed from Next-Gen.
You already had it with custom. Offball deny did a fine job of identifying shooters that are not to be helped off of and slightly sagged away from when they are a long pass away. I would strongly suggest fixing this by first bring back at least one custom setting and properly explaining how it works.
POE breakdown with their inability to focus on preventing threes and points in the paint together which core to how NBA teams are playing defense.Comment

Re: Defensive Settings Completely Removed from Next-Gen.
The third patch will have defense/coach profiles/playbooks/tendencies back?
Any info about this?Comment
