I gotta admit, as someone who never did too much online gaming until 2K12, I almost expect that this mode if brought back even the way it was originally is going to be a huge disappointment to me. It's like, the most talked about feature to come back that it's almost like a mythical feature.

It's like a movie or TV show that gets hyped up to you as the second coming and you automatically know it's never gonna live up to the hype. I truly do hope it does come back and I hope I have fun with it if it does. But I'm kind of glad I missed out on the experience since I can enjoy the game as it is and if I do love Crew mode, it's a bonus that I didn't have to miss for so many years.

Crew was and will always be the best game mode that 2k has to offer.
Myplayer mode, or "career" just doesnt make sense if all there is to do is play in the park.

Crew mode made it worth while to work on your Mycareer so that when the game was on the line, and your jumpshot didn't fall in the closing seconds of a game, you went back to your career and you work on that until it was up to par.

Having played Fight Night Champion within this last year and I valued the way they seperated their two modes via creating your own character. They didn't have anything near as in depth as MyCareer, but they still allowed you the option to create a character and level up his attributes to take him into different modes. However their Online World Championship mode is where they really shined. You could take your created character you previously made and import him into this mode and he would start off at a set Overall (78-79). From here all the improvements and upgrades you made to your character were only through using him in Online Fights. You win you get X amount of skill points, you lose you get X amount of skill points.

This mode was riddled with max height/reach noobies and low skill spammers similar to 2K, but to say it wasn't addicting would be a downright lie. I would heavily endorse 2K having a sort of Online only approach to improve your MyPlayer and thus your MyCrew, as everyone in the Crew would be tuned into winning games as you would be rewarded with more points to further upgrade your MyPlayer. OWC matches lasted around 30 minutes similar to what a 2K Crew game would run for, so the 1st day 99's would be out of the question and the progression at which you took to reach a 99, even a low 90 would require more and more time, and more and more wins. This would be a mode dedicated to team-play, building chemistry with Crew members and would focus on winning every game you played.

I've seen similar ideas, and could expand on this a lot, but I've visited this forum too many times year in year out getting my hopes up and just wanted to throw something out there for support...

lol, chill. It's not the same when your outside on the street playing with that atmosphere. I like the league atmosphere inside an actual arena with a crowd and the court modeled with our home teams logo. That's just me, it feels official in an arena especially when the games on the line and you have all this room to spread the ball to determine who will take the last shot. Only thing 2k11 lacked crew league wise was a playoff system which should be implemented.

I still believe it would be better to make it like myTeam-seed like build up. Start out with the street, then be like a Drew League team play at like rec centers, then go Harlem Globetrotters and play at a Unis/Arenas. Like "Defend your Turf" situation. And if you wanna be the best, you gotta constantly play + perform. The home team's "Turf" would be like showing what skill/much wins they have. And it would all be randomized for opportunity purposes.

Like Crew is kinda boring if there's no progression, IMO. It's not going to last long with players unless it has some type of worth while reward. Most people would just want to pick up and play with their pals, Crew would be worth it if there's a reward. That's why every mode is bland and boring there's nothing enticing for those who want to ball.

Except myTeam, the current money maker for 2K.

It does make sense to have it at the park as it's more of a pick up game w/ friends unlike a fantasy league. (Somewhat like RL.) I actually find it useless to have to use myCareer to make a crew player. It would be more worth it to have myCareer for those who want a career in the NBA and myPlayer for Crew for those who want a fantasy build up

I would take that second, but I definitely want to be in an arena and have that atmosphere along w/ the announcers and etc just like any other game mode except we have our MPs.

We had both in 2K10 and 2K11 pickups w/ those rules on the blacktop and Crew in an arena. No reason why they can't just give us an arena on NG/CG.

It's been far too long without crew and I just don't have the fun I use to anymore with xbox, I always went to crew when I had to find something to do and even when I had many things to do, it was like a miracle. It honestly was like I was in a league competing against real people for a record, not only record but statistics and everything. I cant name a bunch because of course this game mode had mega potential waiting to happen, lacked a playoff system, had unfair advantages at times, and disconnections but truthfuly that did not bother me much but could definitely be fixed in the future. I guess I'll continue to play online basketball games on the computer till the wait is no more further.

Not only does it sound like we're getting crew back, it's possible we're getting it with the bells and whistles we've been waiting for huh?If your cryptic pb n j reply is any indicator of whats to come, our online prayers have been answered.

One thing though LD2k, will the online servers work for matchmaking on day one?
this is a legacy issue and just as important to get right if you on plan bringing back crew mode. Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
