Re: The Official Next Gen NBA 2K15:2K Bring The REAL Crew Mode

Matchups and tournaments with the original crew format would be pretty cool. Crews already matched up on foreign timezones anyway. Man I miss it! I remember on PS3 they had a crew all star game. Tell me that isn't dope. Even had a website dedicated to it with forums and all. People got up and coming awards, best PG, best SG, top crews for 2K12. I mean that stuff was cool. Gave me a lot to play for.

Doesn't matter who it appeals to, I've been playing 2K either the same length if not, longer than you. I've played them all. And I am sure I could beat you in every single one besides 2K12 lol. 2K Basketball itself appeals to the younger audience period if I am not mistaking. That means nothing, you'll play what you like right? What does that have to do with anything lol?

You make it seem like you have to choose just one mode lol. I play everything almost. MP, online association, regular association, Teamup, HOF games, and Crew. I mean I get my money's worth. But crew is easily where I had the most fun at and was the best mode.

I Don't really care who it appeals too, it's a lot of grown hardcore NBA fans like myself that loves Crew. I'm 23, but you'd be surprised to see how many older guys run crew. I've played with 30 and 40 year old police officers and etc that is rabid NBA fans but love Crew. I've met more older dudes than younger. You make stuff seem so black and white. If you like Crew, you're not a real NBA fan, play with real NBA players is basically what you be saying.

It's as sim as it gets honestly besides the regular NBA Teamup. It's slightly better than regular Teamup because people aren't stuck w/ players they don't really know how to play with and isn't that good.

You make it seem like if you like to create your own player, you're a kid. People like to have their own player and also like to play w/ regular teams. You can do both man lol. Mostly every person I've known or met since I've been playing bball games would create a character of their likeness or etc lol. No matter how old they were. You just prefer not to and I think you're in the minority honestly.

Sorry for the long message lol.

I am not 2k's target audience anymore and I know many others that feel the same way. Many of us play leagues with real teams and enjoy the real nba format of playoffs and finals along with regular season . I tried crew but didn't find the appeal of a fake player when I've been playing bball games since Nintendo and am a hardcore nba fan. To each his own but be assured you crew defenders are also in the minority. Myteam rules 2k now

Lol I was about to say everyone in my crew was older. I was 18-19 at the time and I was probably the youngest person.

I am with you though, I love online leagues (when done right), real NBA format and the Playoffs and other modes even against the CPU. If they took out that stuff, I would be on that too. I didn't buy 2K14 NG because association wasn't in and no lobbies. I'm telling you that it doesn't have to be one or the other. I play a lot of them. I don't mess w/ myTeam, but probably will try it in 2K15.

And I really think you're sleeping on the "Crew defenders", it's almost everywhere 2K announces they have an announcement coming up or etc. It could be Facebook, Twitter, Livestream, OS wherever. I believe it's died down because it's been years removed, but people will still love to have it back.

If they bring it back, once my crew gets established. I'm definitely inviting you to run a few games if you have Xbox One. Bet I'll convert you into respecting Crew.

Right. My crews I ran with in 2K10 and earlier 2K11 was always older than me. Like 30s and 40s and were soldiers, police officers and etc. I've met more older guys than younger guys honestly.

Re: The Official Next Gen NBA 2K15:2K Bring The REAL Crew Mode

A lot of people didn't play Crew in 11 and take it at face value; they think it was all hackers in every game, but honestly even at it's peak I don't even think half the games had 8 foot tall guys in it. Maybe people who maxed their stats but that's easy to beat, even the 8' tall guys didn't really stand a chance against a good crew.

But I guarantee all the people who think all Crew was was hackers and unfair games either played very little or not at all.

Easily, hands down, has the most potential to be the best simulation mode in the game, if handled the right way:
Point guard brings the ball up, notices the big man has a matchup advantage and calls for a quick post up. Everyone spaces the floor where it says to go and lets the big man go to work.
Maybe the wing has a slower guy on him so he calls for an iso and takes it to the rim.
Could run some private matches with different playbooks and learn what plays work best.
Run some full court press and traps on defense to get the offense out of a rhythm.

It sounds like basic basketball but when you're controlling one guy while your friends control the others it takes the highest amount of teamwork to get a w; some of the most fun I ever had playing videogame basketball was in 2K11 Crew. When you go up against some cheesers who make their 8' tall players maxed out and actually know what they're doing, and you and your dudes know you gotta be on top of your game to get that win. So you run the plays, play d every possession, execute your gameplan, and keep it close all the way to the buzzer and pull away at the end? Nothing gets more intense than that.

Best part was, unlike Park, you actually HAD to use teamwork to win. There was no "Let's jack up threes that never miss until we get to 21" mindset. You got the ball stripped trying to be too fancy with the dribble, you got blocked or missed the layup if you drive recklessly into traffic, and it wasn't just "spam the right stick for dribble moves, get passed your guy, and dunk" on offense either.

There wasn't a team of gunners either. There was one or two scorers on a team, the other guys had their roles to play. If you had all 5 guys trying to put up 30 it just wasn't going to work. Again, this is where the sim aspect comes back.

Now, it may be the sliders in Park, or it might be the game (2K14) itself, that is to blame. But honestly playing with your my player in 2K11 had a better feel to it, it wasn't so easy to score a lot.

                    Obviously 11 had it's problems:
                    Jumpshot timing was off
                    Lag
                    Finding a match in general
                    Hackers
                    Spin dunks
Standing under the rim to get unblockable layup animations
Uncapped tendencies so certain people go to the line every drive
                    etc.

But if you think about it, most of them problems are either gone or a lot less prevalent in 14.

2K took the easy route, and just took Crew out. If they would have gradually worked to make it a better experience for the users, we wouldn't have this thread right now.
I honestly think that makes them look lazy; the mode was in for 2 years, the groundwork was set. Honestly, it was just teamup with custom jerseys and an option to load a my player into a starting slot. I bet it would take minimal effort just to patch this into 2K14 today.
There's no reason we need to beg and plead to the devs who know how many people played the mode, who know how many want it, and can only imagine how many knew fans would be intrigued by it again.

If it's not in this year that's a major disappointment. No excuses can be made for time (it's been almost 5 years), space on the disc (blueray, next gen consoles), hackers (all players are saved on the server, and let's be honest when we all heard they were saving players to the servers we thought it meant crew was back but we were wrong there lol).
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

                    -Allen Iverson

Re: The Official Next Gen NBA 2K15:2K Bring The REAL Crew Mode

It's crazy how such an old very bugged mode is so demanded, it just goes to show how great and how much potential really was in it. I always took it like my team going up against space jam monstars. They looked crazy but with good d, ball movement, every team was beatable at least on PS3 where we didn't have to deal with the hacking. And with players saved server side now that's a nonissue.

Definitely there was more defense in old crew than the park. I know a few of my old teammates haven't bought a new 2K since 2k11 because of 2k's arrogance about not bringing it back. I used to be a launch night buyer for years but since 2k12 I've either game shared or bought the games used at a later point because of it.

The park is awful, waiting in between games is dumb, there's no defense at all. They're so concerned about adding VC apparently when in the end they would wind up with more money just bringing in their best modes. I mean it's pretty disheartening to see LD2K and the company basically troll us by mentioning 2K11 at all. I fell for it when you had that crews twitter message nonsense, not falling for it again. I'd bet on it that crew is dead for good they are trying to squeeze as much VC out of people as possible and in their eyes it's easier to do that with clothes VC in parks.

I do believe one thing is a strong possibility though: because of technical limitations I can imagine some sort of 2k11 style crew being put on last gen but parks being the only thing for current. I wouldn't be a fan of that either most of my old team has moved on to PS4 now. But whatever.

I don't think the announcement next week will be for Crew. LD is teasing us too much so I think that'll be saved for a later announcement. I do think Crew will be in the game, just not the Crew we want. It'll probably be a mix of MyCrew from 2K11 and The Park where you have your own Crew with uniforms, but it'll be on outdoor courts.

2k had better pay attention to what happened to their rival company. The same will happen to them should they continue to be arrogant. I mean bro if you can add a mode that allows 100 mp how can you not add crew? If it's not in oh well. I am tired of getting my hopes up, tired of trying to figure out why Ronnie or ld said this or commented here. Tired of visiting this thread where no matter what we all say think and feel 2k still has their own agenda, that has been made evident by the lack of listening over the past 4 years and not just with this mode.

So whatever if next week they announce CREW MODE and everything we expect meaning calls Q's jerseys 2's 3's I'm happy. If it's something totally off the wall (which I expect) I'm done not coming back here next year not supporting them. Very very pessimistic about "Crew" return.

In the beginning it def wasn't all hackers but the more time that passed the more people cheated. The whole "everyone's doing it" mentality I guess. I had guys message me all the time asking if I wanted to buy their uncapped my players. And right near the end I almost gave in(if it was even possible). Because at that point more than half the games had hacks. You could always tell after the game if you clicked on their player in the boxscore. I can't remember the tells because it's been too long but I think it would just show A+ grades on all attributes or tendencies. Plus there were more signs but it's been a while. Even if guys weren't 8' and above there would be a 7 footer with PG handles. Just no attribute caps gave them huge advantages.

Keep VC to buy shoes, clothes, gear, court and jersey upgrades, better coaches, better teams for the base..have the sixers be like 1000 VC and the Thunder be like 5K....just suggestions

In a perfect world VC would be a side-thing, let us rank our guys up ourselves; keep it truly competitive.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
