Re: NBA 2k Should have Females in Myplayer
That's not what we are talking about. We are strictly talking about if there should be a choice to have female MyPlayers in the game and I don't see how anyone could argue against it.
I agree that they need to sort out the fundamental issues plaguing the mode before they add anything though.

But it's like someone else said. Is it gonna be a female my player going in the nba? Is the female aspect just a "character skin" or is it gonna play like a female and have stricter limitations. There shouldn't be a woman playing like lebron James against guys in the nba. I understand the fantasy part of it but there has to be some realism to it also.

Re: NBA 2k Should have Females in Myplayer
this has to be the silliest idea I've seen....this would only be possible in the blacktop mode only, since you can already use celebrities in that mode (non NBA players)..
but in the My Career mode ? um....NO, NBA doesn't allow women.Comment

Re: NBA 2k Should have Females in Myplayer
yeah they do. women just cant compete because of physical limitations. if you remember there was talk about brittney griner trying out for NBA teamsComment

Re: NBA 2k Should have Females in Myplayer
I don't see why not. There's no ban on women in the NBA and there shouldn't be no matter how many fat spectator sport viewers on these boards like claim otherwise. Had this discussion before, apparently women can't handle locker rooms, team chemistry will break, players will have sexual relationships, they ruin the sport because they can't understand it. This coming from guys who played a year in high school, but apparently have professional female players can't possibly compete with their high school experiences.
You can already play a female in EA's NHL series. And it's not like hockey's a game for sissies.Comment

They should make a WNBA game and keep them seperate as it will be for a while
Imagine Deandre Jordan posterizing a female player like did to brandon knightComment

What is it to you that the few females who play 2K will be able to play as an approximation of themselves, and why do you care if they're dunking on LeBron? You could never dunk on LeBron in real life so why can't females live out the fantasy on a console?
Only cost here is getting a female voice actor to do the lines.Last edited by Optik; 12-26-2013, 12:04 PM.Originally posted by Dogslax41Most people that are asking for a simulation game don’t really want a simulation game because its too hard.Comment

Re: NBA 2k Should have Females in Myplayer
I think it's something 2K should consider, and see what the fan interest is. I am not talking about any kind of WNBA mode or even a separate WNBA game, because there just isn't enough interest in that league. Just a character that could compete in MyPlayer and at the Park.
I don't really consider the argument that it's an all-men's league, so it wouldn't be realistic, to be a valid one. This is the same mode where people create 7 foot versions of themselves and become MVP of the league. Replicating reality clearly isn't the point of the MyPlayer mode.
I'll also say, though, that if 2K were to look into it and determine that there is minimal interest, then they shouldn't spend any time or resources on implementing it.Comment

I don't agree. I think it's a worthwhile discussion.

My Career is a mode so players can create a player and become as good as possible at a position of their choice. Whether they become stars or not is determined by their level of play. What is unrealistic about this? There were no 7" stars in the NBA? Ralph Sampson, Shaquile Onel, Yao Ming...
Also, the black top is supposed to emulate the Rutgers blacktop. An infamous NY league where underground stars and future NBA players showcased their skills for decades. It's where Doctor Jay built his reputation. Women have never been a part of that.
Infringing on other player's experiences just to include something that doesn't even make sense to include, is definitely a valid argument. Why is it not to you? What if there is someone (like myself) who plays to live vicariously through an avatar who has abilities I wish I was born with, who's experience would be ruined due to being forced to play someone who thought it was cool to be a female character? That just isn't a valid argument to you? Sorry, but gauging a want for something just because, isn't a valid one to me.
I also play NBA2K because I'd like a break from all the games centered around killing people and/or online games where there are dudes playing as half naked females.
The problem isn't ONLY whether or not there is enough people who would want female characters, but ALSO how many players this inclusion would affect. In an already massively successful game, I regress, this discussion is extremely lackluster.Check out my gaming channel YouTube.com/OffTheBrinkTV for Tips, Tricks, Tutorials, Walkthroughs and Let's Play videos!Comment

Re: NBA 2k Should have Females in Myplayer
You can argue to make a women's college game but it seems that no one wants to touch NCAA games(publishers) so to accommodate women nba fans, why not include them? Why wouldn't it work in my player? An isolated experience? Its the "if a tree falls and no one is around to hear it"sort of game modes.
I dont see what's the big gripe.

Re: NBA 2k Should have Females in Myplayer
They dont have a CAP system for NG models or non-asexual female names. So I would argue that it should be very low priority. Honestly i would rather see the dog from Family Guy than women. At least the announcers know his name.Comment
