Just wrapped up the 2016 playoffs. I upset the 2nd seeded Clippers in 6 games, but got throbbed by Portland in 5. OKC ended up taking the Finals, KD was named the MVP.



Philly won the Lottery, but Phoenix traded the 2nd and 6th pick to move up to 1st to select Russian 7'2" center Ivan Kozlov. Philly took SG Terrence Buckner with the 2nd pick and combo guard Zach Vaughn with the 6th. Denver took SF Kevin Hamilton with the 3rd and PG Jacob Reynolds with the 11th. Houston took PG Jevon Porter with the 9th.

Free Agency was wild. Durant, fresh off an MVP season, Championship, and Finals MVP, resigned with the Thunder through potentially the 2020 season. Golden State resigned Barnes to 5 years/$40.88M, retained Speights and Lee, and signed E'Twaun Moore. Washington lost Bradley Beal to a max offer from Dallas, but signed Lance Stephenson to team up with John Wall, Danilo Gallinari, Tyson Chandler, and rookie PF Cameron Black. Al Horford went to Brooklyn in a monster 3 year/$55M deal, with a player option for a 4th year.

The Lakers signed Eric Gordon to take the starting two guard spot from Kobe Bryant. Charlotte signed Ryan Anderson to a 4 year/$35M contract. Atlanta signed Luol Deng and Ian Mahinmi to 2 year deals.

A few guys still remain in free agency. Wish they'd take on smaller deals. The fact that DJ Augustin is demanding $8M is ridiculous.

I've started the season out at 1-2. I've decided to start Dante Exum at point guard, and have Ty Lawson come off of the bench along with Alec Burks to boost the offense when needed. Hayward is averaging 22.7, 6.7, and 3.3 a night with 2.3 steals and a block. Hood is at 17 a night, Favors at 14 and 9, and Gobert at 7 and 9.

Exum is at 6, 2, and 6, but is fantastic defensively. Lawson and Burks are at 12 and 10, respectively. Denis Hammonds is at 6 and 6 off of the bench.

Quite surprised on how good this hornets is! Currently 13-10, 7th seed in the east, its been fun playing kemba- aljeff tandem as we are coming up with close wins lately. Only trade i made so far is exchanging 2015 picks with the jazz plus giving up my 2016 pick and maxiel for their 2017 pick - plan on using fictional draft 2 by jazzman so im planning to get high pick there and gave up my 2016 1st pick hehe im targetting buckner or the big man

Though im still having a hard time winning against west teams, planning to target 6-8th seed, keep my players healthy and hoping for a splash in the playoffs

How did you guys handle the salary cap problem when you play 30-team-controll?

I'm in my 3rd year, didnt increase the cap a lot in the beginning and now I'm stuck with it. Every Free-Agent with a rating above 78 wants at least 7-8 Mio a year and it's just not possible to sign them anymore because of the cap problems. But instead of taking a smaller 1 year contract they decide to stay free agent (Enes Kanter didnt play for 2 years because he wants 12-13 Mio a year....)

So annoying, I remember in the old-gen version players signed for less during the season instead of not playing at all.

Unfortunately because of the global edits 2k made it screwed up sim stats, so I had to start My League over because shooting % was just too far off and rebounding was also too high because of this. So I decided to raise everyone back up by +4, that looks like it will fix the issue, and it don't make my shooting overpowered either, 2k went to far by reducing both by -8, but atleast I was able to fix it so I can enjoy My League.


Will be hopefully getting started over today in my 30 team control My League, with my Pacers playing the 76'ers at home.

Didn't know this was a issue, curious where did you start your hard cap, it doesgo up each yr, but not by a lot. I started mine at 100 for hard cap, to add for incoming cap changes IRL. Now I wonder if I need to bump up more if this is a issue.

Noticed you're controlling every team, what aspects do you control or do you have to do everything. If anyone can shed some light that'd be great I'm about to start my own myleague.

I'm not sure anymore as it's already 2-3 months since I started the mode (few weeks before the regression fix ) and you cant check the sliders for Salary Cap / Hard cap anymore.

But I think I put Hard Cap up to 60/65 and salary cap up to 60.

It's a shame to see so many real players remaining FA and getting replaced by generic draft players simply because no team can afford their contract demands.

It's been a while since I've posted an update, so here it goes...

Things have pretty much been a disaster with the Pels in Season 2. I'm at the All Star break and I'm currently 20-33 and 7 games out of the 8th spot in the West. Losing is the least of my worries because my worst fear looks like it could be coming true... AD hasn't resigned and doesn't appear to be willing to negotiate. Although I still have a couple of weeks left, but with the trade deadline is only a few days away things are starting to get worrisome. I'm not sure if I should try to get something for him or roll the dice and pray that he comes back to the Big Easy.

I haven't made any moves with the Pels yet, but I'm starting to consider it since the deadline is coming up. It's probably fire sale time, so I need 1 year contracts or younger players. Gordon coming off the books will give me some flexibility next off-season and I should probably try to dump Tyreke and Asik (I resigned to a 1 year deal for 7 mil, plus a player option for the following year). My current roster:

PG: Holiday, Cole, Ish Smith
SG: Gordon, Rodney Purvis (R)
SF: Evans,Q-Pon, Babbitt
PF: AD, Anderson, Bobby Portis (R)
C: WCS (R), Asik, Withey, Stiemsma

Both Asik and Q-Pon have missed 4-6 weeks with injuries. I can post my stats later if anyone is interested.

Also, I control Boston since they're my team in real life. I made one trade with them in December and it was Jared Sullinger, old *** Gerald Wallace (thrown in because he's an expiring contract) and two 1st for Chandler Parsons and Dwight Powell. Dallas signed both Jimmy Butler and Wesley Matthews in the offseason, but are still a bottom three team in the West.

I signed Khris Middleton for them in the first offseason, but he wasn't quite performing how I had hoped and rookie Kristapas Porzingis had been out playing Sully. They're currently 8th in the East. They still have a ton of assets and I could potentially upgrade, but I'm not quite sure what to do with them:

PG: Smart, I. Thomas, Mo Williams
SG: Bradley, Turner, J. Young
SF: Parsons, Middleton, Crowder
PF: Porzingis (R), Diaw, Powell
C: J. Okafor (R), Olynyk, Zeller

I'm going to take a break for now, but since I'm so far out of contention, then I'm going to start simming a bit more. Unless I get super lucky while simming and decide to start playing, then I should be in the offseason in a few days.

Yeah its too bad they didn't make the hard cap where you could adjust it yourself after you start your My League. The hard cap does increase a tad each yr, but not by much, so if you had it that low, then I can definitely see why your seeing quality players sitting in FA pool.


I have noticed that just you average or below average players tend to want way more money than what they do IRL. Like when I made the move for the Mavs to dump Gal and sing Barea that I had to sign him to a deal over 4 mil for a yr, where as IRL they singed him for I think it was 1.3 mil. So after I singed him for the Mavs, I just edited his contract to what it is IRL.


I decided to set my hard cap at 110, just to make sure in my 30 team control My League that good players don't rot in FA pool, since my plan is to play this My League several years deep, because I highly doubt I buy NBA2k16. 2k's going to have to step up and start putting more effort into My League, as well as My GM and My Career to make things more realistic with trades, and all transactions before I buy again. Especially when it comes to My League, since its the mode I play with 30 team control to keep things realistic, they are going to have to change some things, namely turning off auto save, as well as making 30 team control like it was on the old gen where you could set all the teams you don't want to control to auto for trades, and transactions, as I really just want to control 1 team as far as playing with, but I like to keep the other teams to the way they are IRL with rotations and roster moves, but after that 1st season I tedn to let the AI do as they may, but will nix any unrealistic moves by them.

2 things I'm looking for some help combating:

1) Too many players play in 82 games. When comparing the stats from previous real life seasons, this seems to be the only issue I see. Do injuries need to be increased? I'm using Armor & Swords sliders, simming most games.

2) The players complaining about practice are relentless, and really all over the place with its consistency.

In this guy's video the CPU Lakers sign LeBron to a 40 million/year contract, but if I start a mygm with the Lakers I can't give LeBron anything near what he wants? Why?

I see in real life "Lakers prepping to give Jimmy Butler a max, Kawhi Leonard a max, LMA a max, etc" but if I start a MyGM career with them I don't have any money to sign anyone.

I don't want to give LeBron 40m a year, I just want to be able to use the supposed large amount of cap space the Lakers have.

A few factors to consider:

• What is the budget for personnel (aka players/coaches?)
• Did you start with the most up-to-date rosters (aka did Nash retire?)
