About to head into the 2017-2018 season. Free agency was wild. I (Utah) lost my backup PG and super-sub Ty Lawson to the Lakers. Lawson wanted $10M from me, which I just couldn't do after giving Gobert $16M a year and Exum and Hood needing new contracts next season. He was great for me, but I couldn't afford him.
Chris Paul and Blake Griffin stayed in LAC after Paul declined a couple of contracts from the Clips. Nobody else really had the cap space for him. Kyle Lowry surprisingly went to Sacramento after the Kings traded DeMarcus Cousins to Minnesota for the 1st overall pick to take point guard Pierre Beaubois. Beaubois will be a combo guard off of the bench while Lowry looks to be the star of the show.
Lawson signed with the Lakers initially for $11M a year, but I changed his contract to be a bit more realistic. His contract is now 2 years for $8.4M. Lou Williams was in the same boat with Minnesota, but I changed his to 2 years/$9.75M.
Zach Randolph bolted from Detroit without playing a game for them due to injury, and signed a 1 year deal with Washington to be their backup big behind Cameron Black and Vladimir Semenko. Darren Collison signed with the upstart Sixers as their backup point for 2 years/$8.9M.
I signed Jimmer Fredette as my backup point guard behind Exum in a one-year deal. Looking forward to his three-point shooting off of the bench, while Burks can play more of a point guard off of the bench.

Made some trades at the start of the season since you can't trade in the offseason for some dumb reason (aside from the draft):
Sacramento trades SF Rudy Gay, PF Brandon Bass to Atlanta for PF Mike Scott, SF Luol Deng, and 2018 1st Round Pick (ATL)
New York trades PG Anthony Jones, 2019 2nd Round (NYK) to Dallas for PG Stephon O'Bryant, PF Johnny O'Bryant
Magic trade PF Kyle O'Quinn to Denver for 2018 2nd Round Pick (DEN)
Toronto trades SG DeMar DeRozan, PG Greivis Vasquez to Brooklyn for PG Deron Williams, SG Bojan Bogdanovic, 2019 1st Round Pick (BKN), 2021 1st Round Pick (BKN)
Toronto then waived Deron Williams.
