Hi all, first time posting here.
I'm currently in my second season in MyCareer. I'm a 6'5" SG, played my first season with The Nuggets. It had its ups and downs; Ty Lawson broke his ankle right after I was put into the starting line up, Nate Robinson would ALWAYS settle for jump shots and they would ALWAYS get blocked, because he's a damn dwarf out there. But Kenneth Faried was a rebound machine (which isn't saying much with how freakin easy it is in this game) and would always drive to the basket when I fed him the ball. Our team was constantly shuffling in and out of the final two playoff spots toward the end of the season, but we finished the season winning 11 of our last 10 games and go the 7th seed in the West. Problem with that was, we went up against The Thunder in the 1st round. As I'm sure you've already guessed if you're at familiar with the super team cheese, but we got manhandled. Lost the series 4-1.
If you're still in your first season and you are frustrated with the play of your teammates, and/or or your player, the offseason is when you can remedy all that. As long as you pick the right team. If you're good enough at the end of your first season, you can pick any team in the league to go to. I picked The Bulls, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. We're currently 24-2 on the season. I'm averaging 30/9/7 as well as 3.5 stls and 2 blks per game (I'm leading the league in blocks...as a SG!!!!). Rose and I make probably the best backcourt in the league. Noah is an absolute BEAST in the game, grabs boards, hustle plays, runs the floor, finishes at the rim. McDermott didn't shoot much at first, but as the team chemistry has gone up, he's become more aggressive on offense. Only complaints would be that Rose settles for pulling up when he drives to the basket too often (he can totally finish at the rim, I throw him lobs all the damn time) and that Taj Gibson is out for a few months with an injury. Oh, also Nikola Mirotic thinks he's the next Dirk Nowitzki. Dude always does the Dirk fade away when I pass him the ball anywhere in the mid range area, but his release is so bad, the ball always clanks off the side of the backboard. So Nikola doesn't get too many touches anymore. But otherwise I'm enjoying MyCareer now, although the cheese can get borderline infuriating at times. I play on Superstar Sim, tried HOF for a stretch of games, but just couldn't deal with the cheese. It's still there on Superstar, but at a level I can deal with.
2K15 MyCareer is just cartoony. It's hard to take seriously. The storyline is nice, albeit incredibly cheesy and cliche and clunky. But it's 2K...not Rockstar or Bethesda. Some of my favorite moments in 2k15 are the ones the defy logic or just make me laugh. Like NBA players from each team reading a prepared script from the 2K team. Or when I'm playing The Warriors and Stephen Curry fouls me, the camera pans over to Steve Kerr flipping his s**t on the sidelines, as I hear Steve Kerr say "I thought that was a good call, guys". Or how only 2 of my teammates are following me on social media. C'mon guys, where's the love? And as a person who loves collecting rebounds, I'm getting a lot of enjoyment in how easy it is to grabs boards in this game. Next player I make is definitely gonna be a 7'3" center.
