I am not claiming to be an expert on the game....but it's fun for me so am putting this out there for anyone that is not having fun....with the hope it at least helps with the experience. My PG, in my 3rd year, is a 92 overall. I started out with the Pelicans, was traded to Timberwolves in current year and am ballin' with Dwight Howard and Andrew Wiggins. If it helps anyone.....great. If not.... move on.... no harm done. Everything below applies to my experience with the PG/SG positions on the game.

    1. Difficulty - I know that on previous versions of the game that there are many here in the forums that think that if you are not playing on HOF level....that the game is too easy. This is not the case. Some are still having success with HOF level....but many more that have posted are not. The game is simply stacked against you to fail on the HOF setting....unless you are just superman. IMO..... Play on Superstar or All Star Sim. Players play much more realistic on either setting and it is a MUCH more enjoyable experience. Lower the difficulty until you can be successful and then raise it up when you start pummeling your opponent.

    2. Building your player/Badges: This is how I built my PG.....and obviously would not apply to the other big man positions. Concentrate on the scoring classes first. The shooting attributes and athletic attributes. I put 0 attribute points on rebounding. I built the shooting, athletic and defense only. I average 2-5 rebounds a game as a guard with 0 on rebound attributes. I have the shooting attributes and athletic attributes maxed....and am getting close on defense. BADGES make a HUGE difference in how your player executes each specific thing. I recommend getting familiar with the badges, doing everything that is needed to be done to acquire, and make each one GOLD. This link may help..... it did for me. http://www.reddit.com/r/NBA2k/commen...w_to_get_each/

    3. Teammate chemistry/Coach Satisfaction - It is absolutely crucial that you play each and every game with chemistry and coach satisfaction being your number 1 priority. Do all of the big AND small things that increase your teammate chemistry. Don't turn the ball over, make good passes, set screens, rebound, assists, etc. I average an A+ teammate chemistry rating over my my career. With coach satisfaction.... do everything that is directed in the points of emphasis. You want a green rating at the end of each point. When your coach says run the fast break...***n the fast break. If you're a guard, don't even attempt an offensive rebound.... you want to be able to leak out and run after every miss in transition. If coach says offense runs through you, run it through you. Score, pass to assist, etc. If it's put pressure on defense, shoot early.... these are your biggest chances to freelance. Dribble move....create space.... shoot. If it's get the ball to a specific player....make sure he gets it. Set screens for him....do everything possible to get him the ball and allow to score. I swear to you.... when you're teammate chemistry is high....90 or higher.... you will see a HUGE difference in how your players play the game with you.

    4. Offensive rhythm and flow/computer AI - In this year's game....it's all about creating rhythm and flow in the offense. Know your teammates.... look at their ratings and tendencies and know what they excel at. You're trying to put them in situations that play into their strongest areas. The AI, in my opinion.....adjusts better and quicker than it ever has. You cannot do the same thing over and over. You cannot just run around and freelance. You cannot even use the same 1 or 2 dribble moves over and over. You have to have literally a whole "bag of tricks". Use a mixed approach. RUN plays.... I cannot stress this enough. There are many GREAT plays that open things up for you as well as your teammates. RUN them until you have favorites. You will get to a point to where you have "go to" plays to break cold streaks, win games, etc. Run the manual pick and roll and mix it up with the players you run it with. Use the roll, pick n pop, and pick n fade. Don't force the ball to a specific player. Take what the play or pick n roll gives you. If it fails....move to the other side of the court...***n it again. Defenders are out of position from the first time you ran it....and sometimes the 2nd time is the charm. There are some great videos on this on youtube by SamPham. Use your D pad quick plays. Call post up plays....basket cuts and isolations. Call an isolation play to yourself to spread out your teammates....THEN call the pick and roll. Get out and run in transition on missed shots. I try not to ever do the exact same thing twice. For example.... I'll come down and run a play that gives me an option for me and another 1-2 teammates. The next time down....I may call a manual pick and roll play. The next time down....I may do the same thing with a different player.... and call the pick n pop. The next time down I may use the d pad and call a post up play to my big. Next time down I may call an isolation.... and try to make a move and go to the hole. You have to keep the defense guessing more than ever. Score until the computer double teams you and pass out to the open man every time. Don't just try to take the ball to the hole on every play and dunk. The mid range jumper is your BEST friend this year. The help defense in the paint is good. When you're open in mid range....pull up and drain it. Finally...if a player gets hot.... ride him until he misses and change things up. The offense has to have RHYTHM and FLOW.

    5. Defense - IMO....defense this year is all about space and taking great angles. You can't just come up and smother the defender if he is in space in and isolation type situation. Make him beat you with the 3 or the long jump shot. Pick and choose your moments to try to steal. Take chances. Play help defense when your teammates are beat off of the dribble or in poor position. Play over or under pick and rolls and off ball screens. Take more chances. Call double teams on players that are hot....make him beat you with a teammate. Make sure you are watching the coach points of emphasis if it is a defensive one. If it's ....don't give up the 3 point shot....smother them on the outside and make them beat you down low. Same for if it's no inside passes/shots.....play way back and dare him to shoot the 3. If he passes inside....crash down with your help defense. Finally....again.... on turnovers and missed shots....get out and run.

    6. Miscellaneous (Post game interviews/After game press conference) Make sure each and every response is a compliment or something positive in reference to your teammates. It's never about you. Always respond with a positive answer. Watch your endorsements.... you get opportunities to promote sprint, use Pharell to secure the gatorade deal by tweeting for help, etc.

    7. Practice and research: I've spent hours on practice gym in my career finding the right jumpshot, looking at signature moves, etc. Combo dribble moves in practice and then see what works in the game. The controller should just be an extension of your mind/creativity....but you have to know how your player is going to react. There are many great videos on YOUTUBE that cover jumpers, dribble moves, ankle breakers, etc. You can learn a TON of tricks by taking some time and seeing what people are doing that works.

The game mode will never be perfect....and I agree that there are many things that can be done to even better the experience.....but I'm having a blast with it. My star teammates are scoring. I'm scoring. We're the number 1 defense in the league....and finally....we are WINNING. I know this is a LONG post.... but hopefully it will improve the experience for somebody out there that is just not enjoying it.

Amazing post! Sorry I'm at work so I was just reading this now. So I have a few questions in regard to what you wrote.

    1. Playbooks - We can't edit our own playbooks in MyPlayer so if I'm playing with let's say the Pelicans in my rookie year as a PG, how can i setup the plays or even LEARN the plays that are being called. I usually let the AI call the plays or i'll use the L1 button to have the 2k smartplay option.

    2. Badges - Do you recommend putting VC points into your attributes first before buying the badges that help you shoot, etc? How would you go about doing this?

    3. Attribute Distribution - Should I evenly disperse my VC points between Jump Shooting, Inside Shooting or Athleticism when I first start out? Would you max one of them first?

I'm going to start my PG over and use this advice to try this mode once again. You have kinda renewed my interest once again and I thank you for that.

If you could answer a few of those questions above, I would greatly appreciate it.

I go to the line plenty myself.. the collisions I see in 2k15 sometimes are harder than hits in Madden.. almost like NHL 15 hits.

Actually, I'm 7th in the league in free throw attempts through 10 games (and a 2-8 record).. shot 69 free throws so far. I get hacked on jumpers all the time besides driving... biggest issue I have is still getting an and-1.. rarely EVER make the layup when fouled.

Funny thing about being 7th in the league.. my teammates NEVER go to the line..just like 2k14 (and 13) I go to the line almost 3 times more than any teammate. Pekovic has barely even shot free throws so we're 25th in the league as a team..

It's so dumb. 2 min rest. Really?
2 minute rest? I subbed out in the 4th last night.. for 10 seconds.. it was funny .. the score didn't change between subbing out and going back in.. maybe that's the ONLY way to not lose leads when being subbed

I wish you could redistribute your attributes. I put way too much into rebounding I could have used elsewhere on my MJ Career. Should have studied the game before I made my players It was better on my T-Mac Career but it got corrupted and my shooting is only around 70.

My opinion...... On your 3 questions.....

            1. There are good plays there without having to do any kind of editing. Hit L1......X for your player.... and then R1 scrolls through about 4 or 5 sets of plays. I like many of the Horns plays....Angle plays....Floppy plays.... etc. I really like many of the PNR plays, they can get you some open looks and your players some open looks. Some of the Floppy plays you will pass to the SG and then you use off ball screens to run a pattern that gets you wide open mid range jumpers. Again.... there are many there that work.... just find the ones that you like the most. The plays will change with some players. Hit L1.....teammate icon button..... and scroll through his.

2 and 3. The badges, with the exception of a few, are relatively inexpensive to upgrade compared to some of the VC craziness last year. The personality type badges have no upgrades.... so you're upgrading the ones that impact your actual play. Just keep a happy balance....as IMO....both are very important. Upgrade the badges that have major impact on gameplay......dribble moves, posterizer, passing badges, etc. I personally poured VC into jumpshooting attributes and athletic in beginning. I really wanted the ability to be fast, agile, and dunk so I maxed out athletic first. Just increase based on your style of gameplay. I personally put 0 on rebounding.....and upgraded defense and inside shooting as priorites last. I probably built athletic and jumpshooting to close to half before I started sprinkling the other ones in.

Re: NBA 2K15 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

I just had a monster game in my first start for the Orlando Magic. Im pretty sure we played Charlotte, but im not positive. Im not on my PS4 either so i cant look it up. I will later. But anyways, i finished i assist shy of a triple double: 33 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assist. Great game for me in my first start.

I wanted to set the tempo to the start the game so i full court pressed Kemba Walker and forced 3 quick turnovers. That lead to an early 16-6 run by us. WE never look back and lead the whole game by at least 10 points until the start of the 4th quarter. I get subbed out and when i come back in with 5 mins left, we only have a 3 point lead. Charlotte really turned up the intensity on the defense because they forced me to commit 6 turnovers! Very disappointing. We ended up losing by 3 and my great game was basically ruined. Hopefully we can rebound against Phoenix.

I really like this Magic team. I plan on signing with them again. Oladipo is good at running the floor and playing lockdown defense. Vucevic is a great help side defender and is a monster on the boards for us. I really want them to start Aaron Gordon at PF. He is a great hustle player on the offensive end, runs the floor good and plays great help side defense. The only problem we have is Tobias Harris at SF. We definitely need someone else. He is not aggressive at all, plays no defense whatsoever and cannot hit water if he fell out of a boat. Hopefully we can get someone better at that position next year.

Im really tempted to start over mycareer and do things right this time around, but I've invested a lot of time into my current guy...still think im going to go through with it, made some bad declensions with this one like simming the last 16 games of my season.

I've also played point gaurd my whole 2k career, this time I may go with shooting gaurd. Try to come to my home town bulls.

So..we're losing 49-46 to New Orleans at the half.. Jrue Holiday of course is going off.. he'll have a shot to beat his career best for points in a game.. on my end though.. LaVine won't pass.. but he's 7 for 10 shooting.. I'm only 4 of 7 because I'm trying to get people open.. I lead the team with 2 assists in the half.. wtf.. we have NO point guard.

Pekovic and Wiggins each 1 of 6 shooting.. and Dieng 1 of 3.. no inside scoring either

I restarted MyCareer, and its going well. First MyCareer I played for the Wolves, and they were a complete disappointment. Wiggins always stood in the corner and only shot open jumpshots, never drove, Lavine shot like 35% FG, Pekovic was decent though. I restarted and went to the Blazers. Lillard and Aldridge are really good to play with and we are in the WCF at the moment.

So if you wanna restart go ahead.
