Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread
That trade should work, but why would you want to trade for Faried? He is an overrated defensive player and overpaid as well. The two things that he does well (rebounding and running the floor) aren't really needed with the roster the Celtics have. Sullinger can rebound just as well and is much better offensively. And the fact that he is athletic and can run doesn't help because Boston has always been more of a halfcourt team. I played with Faried in a Denver MyGM and he was really awful on the halfcourt, he doesn't spread the floor, can't post up and is not a great pick and roll guy. He also hurts your cap space badly. With Olynyk and Sullinger in the team I would look for a 7-footer who can protect the rim. Faried is 6'8'' if you are being generous. That's my opinion but maybe you have a good reason to get him. I hope this helps you.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread
I think he is pretty much untouchable. He will definitely become a superstar in 2 or 3 years. Beal is a very good player and will be a starting shooting guard in this league for a long time but I don't think he will ever make an all-star team. Even if you add a lottery pick, the Wolves wouldn't pull the trigger on a trade like this. If you want to get Wiggins you will need to give up an all-star player. Minnesota won't accept draft picks for their franchise player. That would mean starting over again.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread
Well, I'm currently in the playoffs as the 8th seed with the Pels. I'm down 2-1 to Houston so there's still plenty of ball left to be played. However, I figure I'd go ahead and see if anyone has any ideas on what to do this offseason. I mainly only made the moves that were made in real life, so my roster is pretty much the same as real life. I didn't give anyone an extension during the season, but I still have the offseason to potentially resign players.
The two players that I'm considering doing something with the most is Asik and Eric Gordon (along with every other Pelicans user). Asik is set to be a FA so doing something with him would be contingent on a sign and trade. EG will be in the final year of his deal, which makes moving him a little better than Year 1 where he had two years left.
Obviously, I'm putting the cart before the horse with Asik because I don't know if he will resign. So let's talk about Gordon. Would anyone be interested in a deal? I'd even be willing to part with Holiday or Evans as long as I could dump EG. If I could do that I should have enough cash to be able to sign a center regardless of what Asik does. Without it I'm probably going to need those Bird Years to make a move.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread
I guess they would laugh at you and accept that one. I would put Randles potential over the things Gibson and Mirotic can do now.
About Gordon: I don't see anyone making a move for him ever, he will finish that contract or get cut. But you could look for a move for Jrue, I guess this would be more realistic. Maybe put something in to get in the 1st draft round with him with whoever has that need.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread
I wouldn't do that trade if I were the Bulls. Randle hasn't played a single full NBA game while Mirotic has shown he is a legitimate starter. And Gibson is much better than Hill in my opinion.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm thinking about trading the Grizzlies Kosta Koufus to the New York Knicks. I have all current rosters for my league. I figured this would be beneficial for both teams. I get a pick and the Knicks get a solid center with upside potential. I only want a draft pick(s) but I don't think he's worth a '16 NYK 1st Rd. I was thinking about maybe just a '17 NYK 1st rd pr a couple of 2nd rd picks from any year.

I don't think that New York is going to be interested in giving up one of their few assets for an average center. Sorry.Comment

Any team you can think of where he has a possible starting future and I can get a pick in return?
He doesn't HAVE to start. Just thought he had the potential to do something for a team.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm looking to have a 2007 like offseason with the Celtics in my Pels MyLeague (I'm playing with the Pels and also GMing for the C's). Does anyone have any suggestions on a top SF that the Celtics could trade for?
I have the 2nd (my own), 8th (from Dallas), 20th (from LAC) and 22nd (from Memphis) picks in the 1st Round. I'm for sure using the 2nd pick on a Center. As far as players really Smart and Thomas are the guys that I would want to keep, but that's still a lot of assets available. I don't think that someone like KD, PG13 or Melo is within the realm of possibility, but what about the next tier? I know a lot of people think Kawhi and Jimmy Butler are in it for the long haul with their respective teams.. but what about someone like Candler Parsons or Gordon Hayward? Perhaps I would I be better off just taking a SF at 8, but I would rather make a huge splash to get them right back in to contention.
Any ideas?Last edited by jeremym480; 04-08-2015, 09:54 AM.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread
What do you guys think about this trade?
Pelicans receive: Avery Bradley (BOS), Evan Turner (BOS) and Jason Smith (NYK)
Celtics receive: Chandler Parsons (DAL)
Mavs receive: Jose Calderon (NYK), Tim Hardaway Jr (NYK) and the 8th pick the draft (BOS)
Knicks receive: Jrue Holiday
I know it's a lot of moving parts and I usually hate that. However, here's my brief justification for each team:
Pelicans: We're short on bodies (iirc we only have 7-8 players and 1 draft pick, plus the MLE) so either Holiday, Evans or Ryno has to go. The three players that we're bringing in provide a lot of versatility and all three could potentially start for us.
Celtics: They get Parsons who they have coveted for awhile now. A lineup of Thomas, Smart, Parsons, Sully and Okafor/Towns is solid. Plus, they still have two more first round picks to play with.
Mavs: They were a terrible team in 2014/2015. Rondo is testing the market and they had a lot of success when Calderon as their PG in the past. Hardaway and a lottery pick also make up for the loss of Parsons.
Knicks: They get a young, All-Star caliber PG to pair with Melo.
*I'm still on the resigning phase so all of this is contingent upon Evan Turner and Jason Smith resigning first. Plus, I'm not sure if you can trade before the draft. If you can't then all of this falls apart, as well.
edit: on second thought Boston may be giving up too much... They would probably need one more player or pick. I'm just not sure from where.
edit 2: Maybe let them keep Turner and give the Pels one of their late 1st or a 2nd.Last edited by jeremym480; 04-08-2015, 10:49 AM.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread
Here's three more trades I've came up with... I'm making these two team trades only, so hopefully I can get some feedback because I'm going to attempt the offseason tonight.
Trade 1
Spoiler
Pelicans receive : The 8th pick in the draft, Gerald Wallace and either James Young or Tyler Zeller
Celtics receive : Tyreke Evans
The biggest problem with this trade is I'm not sure if Boston could really use Evans' skill set along with Smart and Thomas. I kind of feel like they need shooter at SF. I could possibly add Eric Gordon and some fillers from Boston to this... I mean, I am taking on Wallace's old ***. However, I'd have to see how everyone contracts work out in-game.
Trade 2
SpoilerPelicans receive: Lance Stephenson, 1st Round pick (I can't remember where they pick exactly, but I think it's somewhere between 9 and 13.
Hornets receive: Tyreke Evans, (maybe an early second? I have Philly's 2nd Rounder iirc)
This moves saves me about 2.2 mil, plus gets me a 1st Rounder. Evans and Stephenson are somewhat similar players (especially in 2k). Obviously Stephenson had a down year in real life, but I don't really think that hurts his trade value too much in 2k. I'm not really sure if this is fair or not.
Trade 3
SpoilerPelicans receive: OJ Mayo and Jerryd Bayless
Bucks receive: Tyreke Evans
Mayo and Bayless would certainly help us stretch the floor, but I'm not sure if it's enough for Reke... Maybe a swap of first rounders would make it more even. I think they're around 7 or 8 and my first round is 16.

edit 2: Maybe let them keep Turner and give the Pels one of their late 1st or a 2nd.
For the Pels, it is a matter of my personal opinion of Jrue Holiday. To me, he is an all-star point guard when healthy. People underrate him becuase he hasn't played a lot of games these past years and he doesn't handle the ball much with Evans in the lineup. He can do it all, pass, shoot, defend with size and length. Giving him up for Avery Bradley, who is a good defender but streaky on offense isn't intelligent. Turner is a poor man's Tyreke Evans. Both him and Jason Smith don't hold much value for New Orleans. The trade would be a little more fair with Evans in place of Holiday.
I hope this helpedComment
