Yeah before when I had the layup jump shoot defeisive sliders at default simulation on pro I was given up an average of like 64 PIP a game in 8 games and the CPU was shooting 50-58% on me and I was doing kind of the same thing. Now I have increased both of them and things are going much better. I may have to up them even more or the shoot contest up even more but right now I have all the layup d and jumpshoot d sliders at 65 and contest shoot at 50 and things are better. I am going to try jumpshoot and layup d sliders at 70 and shoot contest at 70 and see what happens.

Re: NBA 2K15 has NO regard for Fouls.
I've been following this interesting tread and have some questions. Sorry if my english isn't perfect.
Can someone sumarize what is the main reason for the low free throws in the game? Is it the shot contest attribute that in general needs to be lowered in order to generate more free throws? By doings so are you sure that it wouldn't lead to making it to easy to score in the paint?
The most dissapointing thins is that in 2k14 in PS3 me and the CPU averaged about 17 fouls per game, not quite the amount that the lowest NBA teams do, but somewhat close. This year 2k15 for ps4 it's probably about half of that number in total fouls. It's totaly ridicolous and kills the realism, but most people only seems to care about other game modes and features, That's probably why 2k get away with creating a game that has less the fouls called compared to in real life.
Those of you who got succesful free throw averages by doing edits can you tell me if it also lead to more PIP due to lowered shot contest attribute? Are there any solution to create non shooting fouls? I'm affraid that trying to change some defensive attributes would make it too easy to score.
Have 2k confimed that they will change this in a patch as someone mentioned and is there any approximate date? This foul issue leads to more rebounds and FGA even if user play slower pace than real life nba teams and average higher amount of turnovers. I probably average about 17 FTA per game even when rasing all players foul, draw foul and hard foul tendencies by 30. The cpu is about the same number.
Do you thing strength slider affect shooting fouls?Comment

^^^I like to play online quick games though. It's hard enough to keep postion dealing with lag, but when I'm actually in good postion I just get knocked down with no call.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 has NO regard for Fouls.
i just don't understand how fouls are determined in this game. I just played a game with a guy who shot 14 threes to my 9 and I had 4 free throws for the game and he had 14 but made half as many shots in the paint 42 to 21 idk how to get foul can someone help me. Four in a game makes no sense. He won by one because he made 6 out of 14 threes and I was 2 for 9. Smh.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 has NO regard for Fouls.
As I've posted before, you guys really should try playing with the two contact sliders -- inside shot contact frequency and driving contact frequency -- on zero and see if the number of fouls called changes for you. I play with the foul sliders on default and average more than 20 free throw attempts a game. I had one game where I had 30 free throw attempts and the CPU had 25 free throw attempts -- on default foul sliders.
My theory, as stated previously, is that the game is programmed to let a lot of fouls go when the contact animations are canned. By lowering the contact sliders, you significantly reduce the amount of canned contact animations and get more organic ones instead, forcing the game to recognize those as fouls.
Try it out and see if you can get similar results.
Also, remember that just like in the real NBA, most shooting fouls are called while driving in the paint, so you have to be aggressive in your penetration to draw the fouls. You won't get a call every single time, so don't worry about it being a bail out for easy points. But if the CPU legitimately interferes with you getting off a clean shot without actually blocking or altering the shot, then chances are the call will go your way.Last edited by Mos1ted; 10-28-2014, 05:25 PM.According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 has NO regard for Fouls.
Interesting, I have foul sliders maxed, have the inside and driving frequency at 0 as Mos1ted said.
I had 32 FTs in my 2nd game. 10 came in an OT, but still very interesting. The CPU had 13.Comment
