Some guys might be on the other side of the fence on this one but I think the new and improved defensive reaction and movement is the best possible thing they could have done as far playing in the park/rec goes.
Finally I can lock guys down who are trying to play NBA Jam and not 2k15. Steal success has gone up, and I rarely see some 6'5 SG dunk straight on a 300-lb center with eraser and post lockdown defender. (For the record, I play with a PG so this doesn't actually apply to me. I still get slammed on if I'm in the paint like, which deserves a good posterize).Comment

I'm not gonna allow this to turn into a bitch session (I may open up another thread strictly for that) but its now 14 days since the patch was submitted to MS so we've reached the end of the 10-14 days timeline. Maybe it was 14 business days.Comment

Just got the game for PS4, and WOW. This game is great, idk how it played before the patch but im loving how it plays now. However, it makes no damn sense that after hiring guys to do the ratings and tendancies, YOU STILL BARELY EVER GET MID RANGE PULL UPS BY THE CPU.
How many years will this ridiculously easy to fix issue be a problem. There is absolutely no fun playing against Kobe, Melo, MJ, AI, D Rose, Wade, Durant, Westbrook, ect. I cant even get thru a single game cause im constantly messing with the tendency sliders to try to get guys to either pull up, take jumpers off size ups, or shoot from the triple threat. What sense does it make to have Melo triple threat from the elbow, but NEVER shoot the jumper from there

What sense does it make to have MJ and Kobe beat a defender off the dribble, have plenty of room to stop and pop (as they do more than anybody in NBA history) but yet they decide to either throw a dumb pass to somebody who is in no position to score or force their way to the paint, just bumping defenders until they have a shot close to the basket.
Sliders DO NOT FIX THESE PROBLEMS CAUSE THERE IS NO SHOOT OFF THE DRIBBLE "TENDENCY". If you turn mid rande jumper tendency all the way to 100, the only change it will make is making players take more mid range shots off of pass or fadeaways from the post. It makes absolutely no damn sense and its killing the game for me, its just not fun at all playing against any great perimeter player.
Im sure they can EASILY fix this problem with whatever under the hood sliders they have, but after years I don't think the company cares if the CPU plays realistic. We have been asking for them to do this for YEARS, over and ovder again they just seem to ignore one of the things that seperates great perimeter players from average ones. EVERY PERIMETER PLAYER IN THE NBA TAKES THIS SHOT IF THE PAINT IS CROWDED, EVERY GREAT PERIMETER PLAYER TAKES THESE SHOTS WITH DEFENDERS IN THEIR FACES.
The only year you got a lot of these shots was the 1 year that they had the flick flick jumpers for the one dribble pull ups. Only reason this worked for the CPU is because it had its own TENDENCY for those shots and the players with a high tendancy used these shots often. That year was the only year I had fun playing against the CPU. Why do they continue to ignore this issue.
If yall want, I can make a video of CPU vs CPU to point out all the times where a player would have pulled up in real life, and to analyze just how dumb the CPU plays because they don't even try to take this shot. You will see some of the dumbest passes ever, passes that make absolutely no sense. You will see the CPU force their way into the paint straight into the defense, no matter who the player is. I absolutely hate this problem smh.
I cant make threads yet, but I will make a thread on this with a video to back it up since no one on here is making this topic a major subject. Please help me make this subject get some attention from developers, it will help us all in the long run.Comment

You won't always be the best shooter. You won't always be the best rebounder, or defender, either. What you can always do the best though, is play hard. Once you do that, Everything else will take care of itself.Comment

Yeah the thread is a good idea, lets get it started.Things have been silent for over a week from 2K. There still isn't any communication as to when we should expect the patch??
... and now at OS there's not a single thread allowed to be open where we can monitor what's happening and ask for a little accountability. Right now, imo, someone should be at a minimum communicating something to PS4 (international users) & Xbox owners as to a timeframe, maybe a thread here will at least help that process?
it's pretty annoying watching stauffer boast about how good the game is post patch on twitter, never mind not even half of the community has access to the patch and still has no idea when they will be "allowed" to download it.

Was just thinking the same thing.
In regards to the patch, I am patiently waiting as well as I am on XBox 1. However, I have not had much issue dominating on HOF in My Career since my player has high ratings. Not trying to advertise my YT, but you can peep my series on the channel in my sig.
My main issue that I am hoping is truly fixed (says it should be from the patch notes), is the passing path. You can see in my recent episode that James is open for a small window pass and the pathing causes him to slide behind a defender. I like making smart passes that need to be timed perfectly but look awesome when executed. Currently, there just a few turnovers that should have been beautiful dishes.
I've noticed using flashy pass helps a bunch in all aspects though. For those who watched my MC tutorial series, I may start linking short videos on how I executed certain moves to get assists. I have recently noticed using certain moves like hop jumpers and step backs, but stopping to pump fake then pass (among other moves) can really spread the floor. I am just hoping this is expounded on in patch 3.

They fixed the back and forth as far as shooting but you can still back and forth drive baseline and have a good chance of a dunk animation.#1 Laker fan
