Over the last two days I was getting perfect games with perfect response but today has been the complete opposite. It's almost as if I've gone back in time to before the patch because the few games I've played today had that input lag rear its ugly head again.

I'll see how I go tonight because the games I've played when it was perfect were a little bit later at night. Sometimes I feel like depending what time of day I play I get better connection with most games online.

Finally played my first game post-patch (was waiting to finish edits, Armor's slider-set, etc, etc) ...

I feel like they may have tweaked the ball/rim/net (sounds)...the major *clunking* has been toned down...it just sounds better imo.

But again, maybe I'm hearing things again...lol

Why I don't like about the patch is the increase foul on shot contest in the paint. Every time I contest, a whistle is blown. People I played are getting bailed out just by driving to the hoop. Every time I got beaten on D, I tried to switch out and tried to contest, but a foul is called every time. And sometimes my controlled player will do the animation where it will make a hard foul or just grab the offensive player where all I wanted to do is jump and contest the shot. Really frustrating playing D like this.

My last two online quick match, I was outscored in the FT line 19-5. FT throw attempt is what killing me online.
there are a lot a FT´s in real games. In pre-patch games, it was regular seeing games without FT´s and 2 or 3 fouls per game

Interesting the transition issue isn't as bad as I thought.

With smart ball movement, the lanes are there.

I still miss the sense of momentum that players had on the break, but its still ok.

I've only played a couple games post patch but one thing I noticed was that there was a lot more variety with the way jump shots and threes we're going in. I saw some shooters touch bounces and the ball hitting the rim a couple times before dropping.

              Is NBA 2k15 worth buying?

Hey guys. New poster here. I just got a PS4 and I love sports games. 2k15 is on sale for $40 now but I honestly don't know if I should get that or Madden. I had 2k14 last year on my 360 and I didn't like it that much. I haven't had Madden since 2010 so I feel like a different game may be good even if I have to pay $60 for Madden.

Those of you who have 2k15 and have played it for a while now, would you recommend it to others?

I like both football and basketball equally so its a matter of which one to get. I know graphics are improved a lot in both games since its next gen.

Do you guys regret your decision to buy 2k or no?

I agree. i was worried this would happen when people were complaining that there "weren't enough fouls." now there are too many fouls to the point that ANY contact in the paint is called a foul whether it's deserved or not. just standing in front of a player and not even moving will get you whistled for a foul now. i knew this crap would happen when people started whining about fouls. now it takes no skill to just barrel into the paint recklessly to pick up cheesy fouls.

the defensive "hands up" with right stick should NEVER result in a foul call. that should be considered the "most neutral" defensive stance when you want to avoid a whistle, because you're not jumping or moving into the ball handler…you're just standing there. this should never be a foul. after the patch i get called for a foul about 60-70 percent of the time when doing hands up in the paint. it's a cheap bailout for the offense. if the defender has established position in front of the ball handler and is doing the "hands up" then he has cut off the ball handler successfully and has "won" that battle. at that point if the ball handler still wants to force a shot into the defender, then it should be a charge or simply a missed contact layup….not a foul. don't reward the ball handler for just ramming into established defenders. it's the defender who should be rewarded by forcing a missed shot.

Are half court charges back in? Just played in the Rec Center on XB1 and there were three charges in the game, all from half court.

The defense is amazing online however....at the same time it's almost too good to be true lol. A lot of poking the ball lose goes on now as opposed to before. I'm able to stay in front of people I shouldn't be able to and even when I'm a step late on a rotation the close out speed is so fast it's like I never missed a beat.

I think the reason we get so fed up with missing wide open shots is because we play so many games and watch people hit contested shots at a higher rate. I'm 50/50 on how I feel about the entire thing.

I enjoy that the cheesers are almost obsolete in the park/rec but at the same time a lot of the fun stuff is gone. It feels more like a chore instead of an exciting aspect of the game. When they fixed the dunks now you barely see em outside at all. And I had just grinded for posterizer now it's useless.

I don't mind the barebones gameplay in the rec but I thought the whole point of the park was to play an outside "Rucker park" arcadey style.

Loving the defense. Game doesn't feel like a chore To me it's just more grinding out. I will admit it did have more fun factor pre-patch but some stuff had to be toned down.

I'm still convinced that the hands up animation is glitched. fouls get called way too much when you have hands up (not even jumping). also I'm seeing a lot more hard foul animations not being called at all (offline and online) since patch. used to be automatic. (more specifically the animation where the offensive players gets turned 180 in the air)
It's ridiculous how many fouls get called on hands up but not when you actually knock a guy out the air.

I bought a new router , went hard wired , tried different settings online is just a mess. I think it's because of the X1 update ? IDK but the lag Input is like pre patch right now. I had to hold my shoot button so long my thumb turned red.

Re: NBA 2K15 PATCH #3 IMPRESSIONS THREAD

The input lag is really messing with isomotion fluidity. Pre patch you could string and chain together dribble combinations, and it was understood that you there would be a bit of input lag that forced u to queue up the moves when chaining. Now I find my player drifting into a walk up animation which though it looks cool..is taking away my freedom of movement and control. This could be due to me streaming so I will test further online without streaming.

Overall, my impressions are that the shooting is tougher so it puts a premium on shot selection and working for good to better shots, especially on hof sim 12 minute quarters against other humans. I have seen the tougher shooting break some of my league members and I have to keep reminding them the patch is here to stay, so we all have to adjust and relearn the gm from passing to shooting to dribbling. 2k has remade the game.

The defensive movement is much more refined and trying to wiggle or zig zag around a defender without isomotion is nerfed for the better. And for those attributing said movement to your skills, you might want to turn down the defensive assist that 2k auto bumped to 50 to help out the noobs.

What's up with the blatant hacks that results in crazy contact animations not being called and yet hand up contests in the paint...and the refs are quick to blow the whistle. I'm torn on the bail out fouls for reckless rim attacks and yet am grateful that free throws are no gimmes even with the added ft meter.

This patch is not cosmetic that's for sure.

I have both Madden and Nba 2k15 for PS4 so let me help you make your decision.
Graphics : Nba 2k hands down
game play: about equal. I think game play has improved greatly since the last patch. (for nba 2k) I was actually done with 2k after last years crap they released. However, they brought me back by adding a "my league" mode which is your "franchise/assoiciation mode"I'm not a fan of the whole "my GM" mode. I thought it was a spit in the face to former nba 2k players.
Only thing I still hate but able to work around it is the auto save/copy feature.Unlike last year, if you quit a game, you had to live with the results. This year they did add a feature to quit with out accepting the simulated results. I do hate the fact that you cannot copy your saved game.

Madden hasn't changed much since last year. I will say it plays better than last years version. but that's about it. it's your typical copy and paste move by EA. I cant really comment on online games for both because I simply do not play them.
I will say 2k is taking the good ol EA model. They will reintroduce older features and consider it new... they are really caught up on micro trans. and it just feels car salesmen like. then again what gaming company aren't these days..
I will say nba2k made the most improvement since their last years version. However, the last years version was utterly crap for me. so really not much credit there..
Madden/EA approach is "if it aint broke, dont fix it" attitude which i can live with.
one thing of note for madden though: if your a stat guy like me, you will need to play like 10- 12min qt games if you want your defensive stats to show in the league leaders in your franchise season.( i do this anyway. I'm a Sim. guy) this issue is still lingering. You have to have a minimum of 50-55 plays in def. in order for your stats to reflect in the league leaders stats. THis issue really bothers me so I actually stopped playing madden. actually I have much fun with nba 2k more...(to be honest)
                            I hope this helps

Just my 2 cents here. I've noticed this too ( first off fouls do get called in real life even when you have the hands up. It shouldn't but it does.. call it human factor(the refs.) or maybe allstar/super start treatment) Anyway, my solution to this is don't put your hands up at all. If you play on intense def. ( the default controller setting) the CPU does the " defensive" animation for you.(use LT) for example. Your guy will put a hands in the shooters face if you hold the L trigger. These rarely don't get called at all..
also, don't use turbo.( RT ) Turbo is also the cause of Fl. fouls and any fouls for that matter. If your in a fast break or caught flat foot; do not use turbo. just get next to the guy and hold L trigger. I've noticed FL. fouls happen if the guys is coming at you full speed and you "foul" him by jumping/challenging the shot with turbo pressed. your better off try to take a charge at this point. I haven't read anyone else's impressions yet so I don't know if my issues are the same as everyone else.

The input lag hasn't changed much for me, both defensively and offensively. I play exclusively online. I understand planting your feet and turning, I get that. But I find my player still twirling in circles all over the place. Also, is anyone else's MyPlayer running a lot slower? I haven't touched my player's speed or anything, and I thought the speed was fine before.

The outcomes of 3 pointers are much better. I was just playing at the Park and the amount of contested 3s that went in decreased tremendously, so that's a good sign.

But the input lag is really killing me. When I'm playing defense, I will literally not touch my controller sometimes and my guy will still be moving. It feels so weird
