Re: NBA 2K15 PATCH #3 IMPRESSIONS THREAD

It seems I may never find a balance smh I've used my own sliders and other sliders while changing the difficulty back and forth yet it always ends up going bad.

It's either the game becomes too easy or it becomes too hard and it seems 2k version of hard is making the user miss clear shots and layups consistently, having the cpu grab countless amounts of rebounds, consistently get and1s, and making my players slide around too much on defense or just stand looking at the other player on offense.

I have had a few games that play great and are very fair but for the most part it either becomes too easy or too hard like I said before. It's really making me lose interest.

The ball handling really stinks since the patch. My players turn the ball over with a touch.

I thought patches are meant to make things better??

what exactly did the 2gb give us? MORE input lag and less responsiveness??

          HAHA!

I'm telling you guys the lag input and responsiveness online was much improved until the patch dropped for X1. Then it went back til it's old self

Re: NBA 2K15 PATCH #3 IMPRESSIONS THREAD

I'm not playing online, only offline. All star, default sliders. 12 minutes my league or play now.

I notice a substantial more amount of controller lag from the time I input the dribble moves into the controller, to when they take place on the court. especially bringing the ball up the court.

there's also lag most of the time with passing. Yet every now and again I can perform one-touch passing, just enough to show it's there, but rarely in use.

The transitional game is far, far worse. At times my player flat out will not sprint with open court in front of him, and at other times he will, but at those times the CPU seems to have this incredible jet attached to cut off any lanes around the paint to the basket

I'm not seeing improved rebounding, at all. period! in my last three games I was out rebounded on the offensive glass by a total of 35 to 11 (I'm the hornets, and i traded for Nerlens Noel) and I set my POE to crash offensive glass for the last game and got 5 boards.

The CPU goes for too many And 1's ... they turn the ball over roughly once for every 4 or 5 turnovers I make ie I can have Rondo, bring the ball up and spin out of a trap, only for the ball to hit his foot and spill out for the easy breakaway dunk/ lay up. partly due to lag, partly it seems due to the handles being reduced for the User?!!

they've also nerfed the ability to pass long and find your man stretching down the court after a turnover of offensive board. Now it seems no long passes find their man, whereas before every 2nd or 3rd ball would go astray.

The overall feel of the game feels heavily tilted towards the CPU. I can get mugged at times driving to the hoop, and no call. Yet I can go straight up with a competent defender like Noel at the basket and the CPU will get the whistle.

The CPU's biggest advantage seems to be attacking the rim. I get dunks blocked like nothing else, maybe 3 or 4 a game. Meanwhile they can dunk in traffic (and get the AND1). The way the CPU fights through contact is far superior to the human controlled team, imo.

Wide open shots. much has been made of this, so I don't really have to go on about it, other than to agree. there's way too many wide open shots missing. the CPU is sinking just about all its wide open shots. I feel there should be a greater reward for the human moving the ball and finding a wide open man -- especially if he's standing in his wheelhouse for the catch and shoot -- the rewards seem to only apply to the CPU.

which keeps with the overall theme of patch 1.03.

With version 1.02 I never felt the CPU had a huge advantage over all the calls, turnovers, ball handling & passing, offensive boards, fastbreaks etc etc

In saying that, now the improvements. The fouls however are excellent. I'd like to see the CPU get into the bonus a little more earlier and often, but still its probs the best the fouling has ever been.

the computer offense is a thing of beauty. the drive and kick, inside/ outside game is spot on. You sag the paint, or come off a good perimeter player, and you pay, as you should.

The pick and roll game is definitely an improvement. you push the pass with a poor passer into traffic you will pay. The CPU could push more bad passes, but still, the PnR game is excellent.

The post up game is improved, there seems to be better spacing in the paint to allow a guy like Al Jef to go to work on the block.

After 8 games post patch 1.03 I made a few subtle slider changes to try an compensate for much of this.

                Reduced CPU:

                vert & quickness to 49
                hands and handle to 47
                Shoot through contact to 45
                pass accuracy 47
                offensive rebounding to 45

                Increased human:
                dunk in traffic success 55
                3pt success 48
                alley oop success 52

these changes seem to be alleviating it all a little. its not fixing it entirely and it's also not seeming to put the scales back heavily into the user's favor. I probably need to play more than the 4 games I've played, but so far the stats are much, much better, and the feel of the game is a (only) a little better.

Dude lower the CPU's on ball to 35. It opens up the game a lot more.

I dont like the tone of this post but your right . The input lag on trying to block shots now is atrocious.

guys jumping way after i push the button and the shot is already up and its not my timing.

the controller lag in general is a problem.

funny thing is, it's not always laggy, it kinda drifts in and out of games, but it definitely is a problem.

it was fine 2 years ago when u held the left stick halfway you would walk, HOW has it become an issue 2 years later?

After waiting so long to get the patch (XB1) I have been playing a game or two a day since it arrived and this is what I've seen:

1:The computer still gets way too many steals on simple passes. Some of it is me not throwing the proper pass occasionally and some of it is still cheese.

2:Wide open shots were missing far too often for me so I bumped up User sliders a few notches and that corrected that. I still dont make EVERY open look, but no ones perfect and I feel like I've found a balance.

3:I definitely get rewarded for attacking the basket now. I have a team with Lance Stephenson, Jimmy Butler and Demarcus Cousins as my main offensive threats and I shoot about 20-25 FTs/gm now as opposed to 10-15 pre-patch.

4: It seems the computer gets a small speed boost when you have a fast break but I haven't done anything to adjust that yet because its a minor issue to me.

5:Every game I've played in my MyLeague has been close. No more than 4-5 pt wins or losses. (with the exception of two crappy teams in Utah and Milwaukee that I blew out by 10+) I love this aspect, I go on runs and get up ten then the cpu calls TO and makes adjustments and makes it a close game again. (And vice versa)

So far, I am very satisfied with the patch and can say that with a few minor tweaks it has definitely made the game better and more fun to play IMHO.

I haven't played the game in about a week. I played this morning, and I don't know what in the world has happened.

I had the same issue with the input lag being terrible again (offline). Not that it was great after the patch, but it was improved some...especially the jump/block button. Now, like you said, guys will jump to block a shot a whole second after you hit the button.

Also, it feels like my guy is stuck in mud when I try moving him from a stationary position. This is especially prevalent on defense.

                              Ugh. What gives??

I don't understand folks complaining about the CPU players getting "cheats" or bumps over Human players....when those people are playing on All Star or Superstar level.

That's exactly what you get at those levels. The CPU gets artificial bumps to make them harder.

Knowing this...you should probably make incremental decreases in the CPU attribute sliders to compensate for the bumps they get at the "hardest" levels.

                                Just a thought.
