Let me chime in as to why I believe we don't have a patch and why you don't want this patch in its current state.
Let me start by saying this is just my belief based on the limited information I have.
As a person who been doing IT for over 20 years. This is a 2K problem not a Microsoft problem. My belief is this patch can do great harm to the Xbox console itself.
Microsoft isn't going approve a patch that can cause harm outside of the game. A patch that break part of a game don't effect them but any game that locks up the system can cause hard drive corruption and/or hard drive failure or bad coding that "leak" memory because that actually cost Microsoft money(repairs being sent in) and bad press. Let's not forget that these consoles are operating systems and if corrupted causes problems outside of the game itself.
So while I would love the patch now I don't want nothing that would keep me from playing my other games or apps because I have to send in my Xbox for repair especially during Christmas where I have more time to play

tomorrow literally HAS to be the day considering patches historically drop on Tuesdays & Thursdays (obviously not dropping on Christmas). If not; MS/2K are gonna have to seriously consider a public relations campaign as well as SOMETHING monetary for the millions that have been misled through false internet marketing. i myself am 99% sure that i will only purchase 2k games after they go on sale from this point forward due to the time constraints of a ONE year cycle; 3 months of which are spent waiting on gameplay patches & now an apparent lack of care for customer care & communication for those who are now down to having only 9 months of gameplay out of their game until the next installment. im also seriously considering moving to a 2 year cycle on my purchases because of matters like these.
*EDIT: if you cant get the current product "bug free" & cant figure out timely fixes, you shouldnt work on & release yearly installments... no other product does this without being accountable to some sort of quality check before being able to release annualy.

I've been complaining all over this thread too. I'm frisky not on their side. I'm just saying the patch not being released in the morning doesn't mean it's not coming. People said patches don't release on Saturday and the nba live patch was released on a. Saturday. Ps4 patch was released at like 8 pm for 2k. So early morning time isn't the only time it can come. I'm Still hopeful for todayComment

I'm with you on waiting to get NBA 2K from now on instead of getting it on release day. Hell, I'll probably just wait til after the trade deadline is over and get it in March and at a reduced price. By then, the game will have been patched and probably be the game it was intended to be. Damn shame this is what it has come to with the new style of development. Ever since consoles started having hard drives, most developers have taken to this 'ship it now, patch it later' game development style.
Then there is the customer service aspect of 2K. Which is the worst in the industry. When Ubisoft had that disaster of a launch for AC Unity, they kept people up to speed about patches. Even had a blog with all the info and plans for the patches. 2K doesn't really tell us anything. Case in point, the regression issue. I seriously just exchanged my used xb1 copy that I bought 3 weeks ago, for a used ps4 copy at gamestop. Couldn't wait any longer for this patch. Downloading the update now.Comment
