    ^^^ And LD2K blocked me on Twitter when I brought up that point... That said all I needed to know...



    2K needs to be taken to task for this ****ery even after the Patch 3 is released on XB1... They've been getting away with ****ty PR and piss poor business practices for far too long.

      new age marketing... as much as social media was supposed to be used as a next generation tool to lucidly create a flow of information, it has been just as much used as a vale to transparency.

      knowing that today's consumer is witty enough to trace the comments that were made online and reference your lie; the lack of acknowledgement & then blatant disregard for relaying the truth WHILE having your customer continue to wait is the true slap in the face.

      2K CREATED the social media ambassador title for a few of those guys and i would assume that these issues would be encompassed in their job descriptions. they need to go through a strict "re-training" or 2k needs to better inform their social media ambassadors as these kind of mis-communications spiral out of control and make A: some people look like liars or B: some people look incompetent & in many cases both... not to mention killing the semblance of care for the customer that has appreciated the flow of communication that was provided, PROVIDED there was no mistakes.

        I'm not even upset with Ronnie or LD, I have no doubt that the decision to handle things this way was made by someone above them, and they were left to clumsily tap dance all around the issue, and take all the hits. We're shooting the messengers, because there isn't anyone else to draw down on.

          I think everyone is just annoyed that they keep on peddling ruby/onyx/pearl whatever and disregard anything about this patch fiasco

          That said we are still probably such a small minority I don't even blame them really.

            LD said straight up in this very thread that they did not resubmit the patch. They are supposed to INFORM. Lying would be the opposite of that.

              The way you just described it, it sounds like Ronnie and LD are offensive linemen who are meant to protect the "quarterback" (the higher-ups). They take tons of hits and physical punishment so that the quarterback doesn't have to, and they get blamed when things go wrong while receiving minimal praise for their positive, intangible contributions.

              But most importantly, they know that they're in for ALL of this when they take the job. Sure, we're sending a whole lot of heat their way, but they know people will attack 2K in situations like this and that, ostensibly, those attacks will come in their direction.

              Just like offensive linemen know that defenses will attack the QB, and that those attacks will come to them first. And if you don't do your job and the heat actually gets to the quarterback, he's gonna chew you out, and you might lose your position. The QB doesn't wanna have to deal with pressure just like 2K's higher-ups would rather not deal with pressure from us.

              They had to know the caveats of their position within the community and that there will be situations like this.

                Im for sure gonna buy used next year, just gonna go on craigslist the next day even if i still pay 50 i know its going into sum1 elses pocket..

                I been with 2k for a minute now but these past 2 years have left a bad taste.
                (couldnt play mycareer for 2 months in 14 now being lied to or w/e bout the patch)

                Gonna try get my friends to do it too...only way to send a message i guess since 90 pages of anger havent triggered an apology yet..
                I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.

                  You think people are mad now wait a few days when we actually get the patch but can't even play the game cuz the servers will be down when everyone gets the game for Christmas.

                      I'm coming from the point of view that just because they work in the marketing department doesn't mean they are made aware of certain things (everything)... especially in the time frame that we assume they are made aware... I dont see the benefit in knowingly deceiving the customer base... Again I am not saying people don't have a right to be aggravated with the process I just don't see the need for deception or the benefit for 2k... Ronnie and LD could very well be giving you the information they are given as they get it... I am sure enough of us work in professional settings where info is given out on a need to know basis... This isn't a excuse this me taking the personal aggravation out of it... If my job is to prepare for these numerous marketing releases for the upcoming week I may not have time to get the exact details on what is up with a patch that honestly has nothing to do with my direct job... When they were silent people complained when they gave vague info people complained when they gave out what is now looked at as contradictory info people complained... its shooting the messenger IMO... I don't own stock in 2k or feel the need to defend the company... I'm just seeing it from a different point of view i guess... which is selective and relative as others have pointed out...

                        I feel similarly. I think the one place 2K does deserve some blame is that they could've conveyed their message better after the initial issue was discovered. They should've shown more empathy collectively. I could care less about the "lying" because I'd think most of us that have been in IT or in a front-facing customer role have done it. Just don't belittle the customer; make them feel valued and appreciated through the process. I don't think they purposely belittled anyone, but the lack of communication - even if they weren't saying anything - helped to contribute in making a mountain out of a molehill.

                        But I fail to see how people being inconvenienced - AT BEST - somehow now correlates to preorder routines being changed, the need to switch systems, etc.

                          This is exactly the kind of attitude that fosters horrible customer service. Then again I might be one of those crazy pesky customers that likes being told the truth. Any suggestions on the best sand to stick my head in?

                            The facts dont match that theory though and the lack of an apology from them shows that this wasnt a mistake made...it was misinformation. A simple apology and explanation wouldve cleared this whole thing up but their actions show that they either are too stubborn or dont care about customer service.
