Re: MyLeague Regression - (Because the issue should not be forgotten)
Yikes...I thought this was only an issue for season 3 and beyond. Can someone point me to where the work arounds for this issue are? I have no faith in 2k addressing this; even if this thread goes viral. See my online league thread for my warranted pessimism.[OS Vets NBA 2K10 Champion]

Re: MyLeague Regression - (Because the issue should not be forgotten)
No, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden are superstars.I get what you're saying.
Somewhat off topic, but do you consider Bogut and Lowry to be mid-range? Those guys are superstars. Bogut's arguably the best rim-protecter in the league this season and an elite passer for a big man, and Lowry's having an unbelievable year, is 9th in the league in PER and is leading an offense putting up historic numbers.
Bogut and Lowry are incredible players and tops at their respective positions, but they are not superstars. Maybe mid-range was a bad use of words and in no way am I comparing the extremely overhyped Michael Carter-Williams to the likes of Kyle Lowry, but hopefully you get the gist.
My point was that it is perfectly fine if a guy that averaged 10 minutes a game his entire career is gone by 30, but guys that are big time players in this league should not be gone at such an age. Guys like Michael Beasley, Steve Francis and Tracy McGrady are exceptions, not the rule.Comment

Re: MyLeague Regression - (Because the issue should not be forgotten)
i'm in 2025 right now and i can confidently say that without me tinkering with ratings every so often, there would be less than 5 true role players in the entire league over age 30. guys like david west, andre miller, & terry aren't "rare" occurrences in myleague, they are impossible. & i'm pretty sure that generated players drop just as much (if not) more than real guys.FWIW, I'm NOT seeing this issue as much anymore with CPU-generated players.
But let's remember: Roughly 18% of the NBA is 30 or older--that's it. The guys who do make it past 30 are usually pretty remarkable. So the leagues don't need to get DRASTICALLY older, and in fact most role players don't make it past age 30. It just seems like a few more should.
this
SpoilerBeen talking with vtcrb and dropped the knowledge on me that there is definitely a difference with the way the game reads players that have their years pro set at 1.
So I decided to do some testing. A lot of testing actually and I have found a temporary fix. While it is still "work" it isn't as much work as manually editing every player or as tedious as changing the "year born" of certain players.
Immediately after the playoffs end (when the game gives you the option to do the draft lottery) go and change the "years pro" of players over 28 years old to 1. When this is done, some player regression still takes place but not nearly as rapid and ridiculous as it does naturally. What happens is that older players in their 30s still occasionally lose 1- 3 points and players 28 and 29 rarely lose any overall points at all.
THE GOOD:
Obviously, the good here is that you can get rid of the outrageous pattern of regression in as little as 15 minutes each season. It allows teams to still have players on their team in their 30s which is obviously more realistic that what we have right now.
THE BAD:
Although it doesnt eliminate the career stats of that player on their player card, moving into the following year, the game continues to recognize that player as a rookie. Because of that you won't truly have an accurate rookie of the year or all rookie team going forward. Of course you can take the extra time to change everyone back if you have the time or simply let it go if it doesnt bother you that much.
I can post here because I am on my phone but if someone wants me to send them the pictures from my phone, send me your email and I will send you the pictures so I can show you what I mean.Last edited by BluFu; 01-07-2015, 03:47 PM.Comment

Re: MyLeague Regression - (Because the issue should not be forgotten)
here's the case of Donnell Montgomery. a real promising guy that got destroyed by regression. i tried saving him but regression does not lose any fights.
Spoiler

in case you were wondering, he is no longer with the Pacers. he's sitting at home as a Free Agent, wondering how he got so bad.. so fast.

Re: MyLeague Regression - (Because the issue should not be forgotten)
Yeah im just noticing how bad it really is. I knew it was an issue before but im in year 6/7 of myleague and its just bad. Derrick Rose(32) is low 70s and jimmy butler is mid 60s(31). Kemba Walker(30) and low 70s.
While Durant(32) is 99 across the board averaging 37ppg(15 games in) but hasnt missed a beat.
In the future this issue needs to be fixed. Also give us editing options for auto drafted players again.
Oh yeah Jermery Lin(32) is rated highest pg over 30 at 78 that was not a superstar.Last edited by DonWuan; 01-07-2015, 07:53 PM.Comment

Re: MyLeague Regression - (Because the issue should not be forgotten)
It's not even technically a "bug," but it is bad design for the two modes it affects.
I think we already have our answer about whether it will be addressed by the determined silence we've gotten since this was first identified many weeks ago, before patch 3 dropped and while it was still in development.
I think 2k made the decision that it's a design issue that does not affect a ton of people and so the devoted their limited resources to a bunch of other issues for the patch. And probably somewhere at 2k someone has the basic redesign of a progression-regression system in alpha for 2k16.
But I don't think we're getting any fix. Maybe this thread might help us get an acknowledgment of the issue, and a promise to have it addressed for next year.
It really does warp the whole modes, though.Comment

Re: MyLeague Regression - (Because the issue should not be forgotten)
This ruins the game for me. I don't care about MyTeam or MyCareer (otherwise known as the the worst ideas that ever happened to sports video gaming). I want to play a great franchise mode.
But I can't.
I can't because not only is this regression issue going to ruin my MyLeague, but I can't even properly find a work around since now I can't have multiple save files pertaining to the same MyLeague.
Why would you take out a convenient feature that has been in the game for years? Not really surprising, since three-team trades have been in the game for years and yet, this year, are mysteriously absent.
The game play is quite good this year, but the only mode in the game that I am interested in is broken. The advertising was misleading. If this issue isn't fixed, I want my money back. But we can't even get a message saying whether it will or won't be fixed.Check out my WWE2K19 Universe Dynasty - "The Monday Night Wars...REIGNITED" WCW vs. WWE vs. ECWComment

That image isn't working for me, but I went to the web address (handy thing about quoting someone's posthere's the case of Donnell Montgomery. a real promising guy that got destroyed by regression. i tried saving him but regression does not lose any fights.

) and that guy is the poster child for regression in this game. Pretty typical aging curve for 2k15.

Re: MyLeague Regression - (Because the issue should not be forgotten)
It's pretty sad, the level of developer interaction was at an all time high around the release of this game. And once the problems rolled in they vanished. It boggles the mind a bit, but this regression issue is MAJOR. For them to hype the mode so much, yet not 1 person notice this issue is unacceptable. I've been playing my 1st season at a very slow pace. But 80 years is complete overkill if I won't be able to recognize the league in 3 seasons. KEEP THIS THREAD ALIVEComment
