That's the thing I'am not sure about because I'am not a baller. I don't know if that's something a basketball player would do sometimes or not at all.

I don't know if the auto moves need to be removed, imo the best fix would be to:

      A) Reduce the automatic speed burst you get on some dribble move animations,so that you are not are able to repeatedly get a really good "first step" by spamming one or two moves.

      and

      B) Allow defenders some ability to "explode" laterally within their animations to keep up with the ball handler as well.

Re: Getting rid of auto dribbling moves would make ballhandling and on ball defense m

How about different animations when dribbling the ball from ✋ to the floor. the real ballhandlers should have a different beat when it comes to pounding the basketball, better control animations. and the less control players should have a clumsy animations when it comes to pounding the basketball.

And there should be a difference with ballhanding, and (control). a real elite basketball players have better control handling the rock, some players have handles..but have trouble controlling the basketball. So either have a badge of controlling the basketball...or bring in a new control attribute.

And I have no problem with that, I just think the proposed idea was terrible.

IMO The ONLY things that needs to be changed with the Dribbling is the ridiculous "walk-up" animations that take you halfway up the sideline without control of your player, and all of the other prolonged "Animations" that you can't get out of...how REMOVING control from the player because people can't play defense online helps this game going forward is beyond me...
But you aren't qualified to comment on things that happen online. Defenders are subject to momentum and weight shifts when moving as opposed to ballhandlers . put on your big boy pants and head to the park so you can better understand why OP suggested this

Did I say that I have never played online ever in my life? Or did I say that I choose not to play online? Reading comprehension buddy.

And implying that I'm less skilled because I don't play at the park? Oh boy that's a riot! Haha wouldn't want to lose to you and your 7'0 Small forward who shoots 60% from three!

I really don't see the point of knocking down any idea. This idea may help birth another, who knows?

Wang always says "he's not finished" with the stick and personally at the current rate, I personally don't how much more fleshing out this system has in it.

At the end of the day, zig zag needs to be fixed and if handicapping offensive movement by making the player think about his dribble is a way, why not try it? Dribbling is waaayyyy to easy to do anyway - takes very little skill to pull off these moves with very little difference between the players performing them.

Im not sure if this has been mentioned, but how about a dribble METER! a per possession bar that fills up with each dribble move you attempt! The higher that bar fills the more likley the defender is to strip you. In extreem cases you could simply lose controll of the ball. We have seen things simmilar to this in the past with dribbling being tied to stanima. But i dont like the idea of my pg being tired because he did a sig sizeup. But a meter for dribbling? by the the time park cheeser spamed his his forth consecutive left right excape dripple he bounces the ball of his leg and out of bounds. Dont say itdoesnt happen irl i saw harden almost get 8 secs the other night cause he lost controll of the ball doing unessecery dribble moves in the back court. And hes the MVP runner-up!

Hey mike not trying to flame or anything but id like to comment on the 60% shooting thing. If they were wide open catch and shoot i dont think wed be complaining. But there not there catch turbo left pause turbo right rinse repeat jack up a shoot off the dribble. The dribble mechanics need fixed so we can counter this more effectively. If they did more people would be interested in playing online! =)

Yes MR Reign...you nailed it!! Lol

Just like on defense, you are penalized for your actions...but on offense there's none. to bring challenge to the dribbling system, why not have a (protection) trigger/button...that will play a key in when dribbling.

                      Examples

When dribbling into traffic..either hold trigger to protect the ball- (advantage) ball security. (disadvantage) slower movement's and no turbo burst.
When you are holding the trigger, you have less dribbling moves, less movement's. so the user have to know when to hold or release to pull off moves or plays.

But 2k16 must have over power defense to make this work.

It doesn't happen in real life on any type of consistent basis that 2K should add a meter into the game for dribbling lol. That sounds extremely cheesy and arcadish, very far from sim if you ask me....Steph Curry, Tyreke Evans, doesn't magically lose the ball from doing dribble moves...this is where I start to say maybe a change like this and some of the others suggested could be exclusive to the online modes like the Park and things like that.

Reread my post I was speaking AGAINST the 3 point shooting percentage as a reason I don't play online. And a dribble meter?...really?

I could also argue steph curry doesnt do 15 in and out dribble moves taling the ball up court. But putting a system that would eliminate that makes it unrealistic? Players lose the ball all the time this could help the give us more lose ball turnovers, a stat that is lacking in the current game. My comment about your choice to not play online seems based of the overpower dribbleing. I pose this question if a player is left wide open with no close out lets assume curry would it bother you he's shooting 60% or would you be bothered that hes being left wide opean

For one its a failed system

Two its not the core game problem moreso online

Third the dribble system is not broken.....just more online noobs who uses exploits that should be fixed in another way not change an entirely evolved dribble system and start all over again.

Thats just not a good idea man and it looks and feels awful
