    Stop with the excuses.
    One. More. time.

Are you missing the part where I said I win most of these games and that these people can be beaten?

Or are you a offballer who I'm pointing out and trying to defend their playstyle. Cause you really don't seem to be reading

if you play MyCareer/Park you play as cpu? no! You play as one player who must react on atacking Your opponent with or without ball. On-Ball defenders We are the best, and even when We fall. We Are Winners, because we try. I Hope another 2k16 rewarding this only true site of basketball players.

Then why are you on here complaining? If you win then you beat the guy, no matter what type of defense he uses. There's no right or wrong way to play the game. If you win, then obviously 2k doesn't reward offball defense as that guy's defense was not up to par.

i think he's just trying to say he doesnt find it enjoyable to play against people who play offball.

i mean i can beat most cheesers online but that doesnt mean i enjoy playing against them. it takes a lot of the fun out of the game.

( and no he doesnt cause the other person to lag) of my last 20 games. i lagged only in one. and i quit out cause i couldnt do anything. in th first weeks of this game , i know it was bad. but since then its been fixed. i dont know what going on on yall sides.

Lag is bad period. Honestly, don't care what your friend does, I and plenty of others see that playing online, especially on defense, the input delay is bad combined with the animations 2K puts you in.

Not saying, you can't play D, but you're rarely just locking someone down. Not on this 2K. I don't care who you are. It's not a coincidence everyone is bringing up the lag and talking about 2K servers. It's a problem when it's a job to have to stop someone from simply going left to right. C'mon now. Something as simple as that shows defense needs works combined with 2K servers.

But the thread is called Why Does 2K Reward Off Ball Defense, and he said doesn't have difficulty against it, so clearly it's not a problem. He should change the thread title.

Re: At the cost of sounding horrible, Why is offball Defense Rewarded?

2K doesn't reward off ball defense anymore than it rewards on all defense. One of the bigger complaints about 2K is how dumb the teammate ai is. 2k actually limits the effectiveness of off ball defense and the devs pretty much said this in another thread. You can toast people that play strictly off ball because of it. On ball defense isn't rewarded as much either due to input lag, op offensive maneuvers, etc. On ball defense is even more hampered because the fact that 2k has dumbed down AI teammates. I have no problems of people play strictly on/off ball defense. If I want to play consistently play on ball defenders, I'll play the Park/rec etc. If I don't care if I play an on ball defender or off ball defender I'll play a quick match.

Re: At the cost of sounding horrible, Why is offball Defense Rewarded?

Thing what I experienced lots of times is, that my opponent plays pretty bad and has no clue of how to defend. Then during the game he decides okay, let's let the AI defend. And from that on his slow big man are able to defend my Point Guard on the perimeter, because the AI is just not easy to beat off the dribble.
I think that is what the OP meant. For bad people it is easier to let the AI defend than to learn how to defend themselves. It would definitely work better if they would learn it, but it is just the easy way and it works way too good compared to what those guys bring to the table when defending themselves.

I truly believe some people have drastically different experiences on this game. I for one deal with lag almost 100% of the time. On rare occasions in the early morning/late night hours I have a fairly lag free experience. I however can tell some poeple are running smooth when I am lagging just based on the way they're able to move players. I envy those who can stop on a dime and change direction, I am just not one of them. The rare times I am lag free I refer to as God mode lol. If you catch me at one of those times.....good luck. For the record I play on xbox one where my network stats routinely hit the 120up/12down range with 38ms latency and 0% packet loss. I don't feel like it's connection based. It seems more like I am so far from the servers my latency is 7-10 times what I am used to on other games. I live in Denver btw. From what I've heard 2k only has one server location on the east coast.

yeah he probably should change the title.

and you probably should actually read what he says a little better and reply accordingly, instead of nitpicking about the thread title like a jackwagon.

Lol I'm not the one whining and complaining about how other people play. Who cares if it "doesn't take skill to play off ball defense." People are going to play however they want. That's like if I made a thread complaining about zig zagging and shooting threes. The OP even admitted that he doesn't have a problem beating those types of players, yet he claims 2K rewards them. He doesn't explain how, nor does he offer any solutions. This thread is pointless.

Let us use preferred position online. If you can play off ball defense and unrealistically blow up every single offensive set then we should be able to control to control an off ball offensive player. It's only fair.

It isn't laziness, it's just the fact that on ball defense is unnecessarily difficult
