@OP I don't think they're holding anything back necessarily. Maybe its just that OS is a small portion of the people who buy 2K and for many who buy 2K year after year, these marketing strategies seem to be enough. The OP Sports fanbase are the ones who seek details and gameplay, analyzing every minute detail of screenshots and 7 second clips.

Marketing is not for the die-hard fan and it seems the marketing department has been running this for the past few years.

This is actually normal for 2K. Last year, the 1st official gameplay trailer was seen on August 25th. It was the Yakkem Trailer. Then on September 16th they showed the player introductions trailer. It wasn't until September 30th, about a week away from the release of the game that we got a full 5 quarters of gameplay (5v5).

Only difference between last year and this year, is that we didn't get ghetto cell phone footage earlier from gamescom because 2K16 wasn't playable there this year.

I also recall you and a bunch of other youtubers visiting and doing videos and giving commentary as well right?

I could be remembering wrong but I seem to recall him not getting the job at visual concepts that he originally applied for due to lack of experience so they sent him somewhere to hone his skills or something... But this would have been a while ago, he might be working at vc now idk

If 2K just fixed a lot of the issues that have been in the game for years... Doing that ALONE will FEEL like the game has taken another 'huge leap' forward, imo.

Namely issues like 'ball tangibility', or 'responsiveness' to 50/50 loose balls. Or whatever.

In fact, they don't even have to actually 'fix' stuff like that... Just give us a 'slider' to let gamers customize these attributes themselves and 'the community' will probably create / test /adopt the best 'settings' on their own.

They claimed it was because the Gamescom crowd isn't typically made up of basketball fans.

Makes sense to me. People here typically complain that the people playing at Gamescon don't know what they're doing anyway, or aren't playing sim enough and the onus is on the game to force them to play a certain way. All it takes is for one errant rebound and there's a 10+page thread on the rebounding being broken, which they're then forced to debunk. Just the nature of game forums where everything gets over-analyzed. Personally I wouldn't get my hopes up that they're purposely holding back some incredible news on [whatever], but that's just me

2K has been out since 1999. They JUST started doing this when PS4 dropped. On average they've been giving out information well before the release date. MONTHS in advance. In magazines & etc.

Plus Live only missed 3 years bra. Not that long.

I'm expecting a lot of improvements but not something mind blowing or life changing. This is exactly what 2K wants. #HypeTrain

Maybe if they create a connected mycareer mode online my jaw will drop. In general, I know to keep my expectations in check.

Probably others said the same already in the previous posts which I didn't read but in my opinion they are just processing an hidden war with live because from what I read, live seems competitive this year. They both didn't show any game play video except live but I can't call it as a game play video because the dude stopped it every three second to show the replay [emoji29]

Would be unreal. Man...it would be so damn competitive. Fighting for playoff positioning, having 7 game series against each other. In the offseason, People joining up, having to take less money to do so, being traded by teams.l, weighing options to see offers and where other CPU players and user players are ending up and etc. I think some friendships would end with this mode lol. Again, mannnn.
