Re: 2K Holding Back Gameplay Footage because of Huge Leap?
I think they are holding back showing us raw gameplay because they made a huge leap in broadcast presentation. If this is true then 2K acquired TNT for the presentation to compete with the competitions directly. They aren't just going to market that they acquired TNT because that would make 2K16's "Be The Story" campaign irrelevant.
I think everyone including the OPster is forgetting that they need a new commentator for 2K16 since Steve Kerr is a thing of the past as a commentator.
Would make sense why only a trailer was running at Gamescom aswell. Hard to have a playable game and still hide the TNT side of things..... and that would be the sort of thing you'd want to announce, not have noticed from a mobile recording.....
A lot of talk from fans about TNT aswell over the years, so it would fall right into place in terms of 2K listening to their fans.....which has always been a staple of theirs.....
This is me being hopeful..... would be awesome....Comment

Nah seriously though, that news would be big so it's possible they're holding onto it for as long as they can...... once announced, yes, they will market the hell out of it!Comment

Re: 2K Holding Back Gameplay Footage because of Huge Leap?
Mark, for many of us on this side the wait is just as unbearable,
We worked all year to put stuff in, in my case specifically for this community,
And to not be able to share that and just wait is tuff. Especially since I read here
daily.
But that has nothing to do with our respect of lack thereof for the guys who wait
all year to play the game or consider purchasing it.
AFAIK the marketing is not for anyone here really it is for the bigger population
who doesn't read every bit of information scattered all over the digital world.Catch me on that #SimNation #SimHangOut Friday's @ 10:00 pm est https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...N7yxMiElOpMl_BComment

And IF you could, do you see it affecting the release or sales side of things in a negative way?
This is the part that perplexes me sometimes. On the flip side, I have to admit, I do not know everything about marketing so perhaps there is a strategic side that I am not considering.....
Albeit, some of my words were the result of a firey morning and a pinch of frustration from the "technical difficulty" on the stream set for today and I suppose calling the "respect of 2K" into question was a result of this , perhaps wrong, sure......
But something about this years pre-release seems slower and a little more "drip fed"....... maybe it's me......Comment

Appreciate your words Czar. Can I ask, why can't you share some of the great things you have worked on all year?
And IF you could, do you see it affecting the release or sales side of things in a negative way?

Its all about patience. We will have more videos soon, more feature reveals, and not to mention that you will have the game in your hands in about a month.
I do believe that its harder for the 2k staff now, because they want to show us the game that they have been working on for a year, but its not up to them, its up to the marketing/sales department.
Just relax man, its not looking to good on your end...Find me on Xbox One---> Gamertag: G2G JohnDoe2k

The 2k marketing department has done a great job on you bro lmao. The way you feel is how they WANTED you to feel.

Meh.....
I think a lot more people feel the same way, I just voiced it.
2K16 will be great. And I will buy it. And I currently play 2K15 still.
I just decided to question the marketing model and it appears this has upset some fans..... I'll pull back.Comment

IF they managed to score TNT licensing, this post makes a hell of a lot of sense.
Would make sense why only a trailer was running at Gamescom aswell. Hard to have a playable game and still hide the TNT side of things..... and that would be the sort of thing you'd want to announce, not have noticed from a mobile recording.....

Exactly either TNT or NBATV presentation for 2K16 and beyond would be amazing for us as fans. Another good reason for this could be them also not showing Pro-AM gameplay too. Since they could be using the new TNT or NBATV presentation for that also!

Re: 2K Holding Back Gameplay Footage because of Huge Leap?
NBA TV would be dope, but since they already have Shaq's annoying ***, TNT is the only realistic option. I fear however commentary will be even worse, there's no way they go for the better unknowns like Steve Smith or Grant Hill. It will be annoying *** Reggie or staying put with Kellogg who couldn't be more like Steve Kerr and say random boring one liners.Comment
