I'm basically a drone at this point. I'll buy 2k every year and complain about it

I just wish the would put out more information. Doesn't have to always be trailers or gameplay videos.

The only reason I buy into the hype AT ALL is because 2K has earned my trust through very good basketball games.

Madden has betrayed my trust, as has EA NHL.

MLB The Show is the only other sports game I trust like this--seriously, I'm not even a baseball fan, and I love The Show. It's that darn good. Check it out.

I remember the days when sites like IGN and Gamespot would post articles and gameplay videos

It must be my old age. I'm at a point in my life where I just buy the same games every year, and I don't think about the marketing. I can't think of the last new IP game I bought in a while.

Until I stop gaming or companies royally screw up on a franchise, I'm pretty much going to buy the same games for the next 5-10 years.

EDIT: Titanfall was the last new IP I bought, before that...DJ Hero maybe? Mirrors Edge... For sure.

Well, I shelled out for the Jordan Edition solely because I want the rookie Jordan card and want to play the game 4 days early (despite the fact that none of these things are worth playing 20 extra dollars), so I guess they got me, hook, line and sinker.

not impressed yet but i expect more to come. the features of mouth pieces and things don't impress me. unless i see some defensive improvements and voice chat finally be enabled in park/pro-am. most importantly some quality servers

I WOULD have gotten that version, but I have no use for a Fathead or anything else in the bundle.

I got the Early Tip-Off Edition instead. That extra VC will go a long way towards being able to buy a team in MyGM and move them to Seattle without worrying about owner goals.

                      2K16 Marketing Affect On You

I think they are more worried about the competition this year more than ever. If the other game is a viable option then 2ks market share will shrink. I think they are going to read and react to what the competition is doing. As soon as announcements are made from the competition they will mitigate their press by announcing something bigger.

They know they are in first position and they can afford to slow down the information and not have a negative effect on sales. I really miss the golden days of marketing with developer insights of 2k11 and 2k12. They had to market in 2k12 because of the NBA stoppage.

I would bet the biggest news will be dropped when Live releases the demo.

2K marketing is designed for peoples short attention spans, not to do a comparison but a few week ago live was all the talk but without a continuous flow of new information the forum is dead, it is almost impossible to hold someone attention about a video game especially a sport game for long periods of time.

2k can market the game however they want and I'm still buying it.

I honestly think they're doing a fine job marketing this game. They've told us enough information to keep us interested in the game and wanting more.

However, I'm in my mid-30s and remember having to open up Nintendo Power once every month or so to get my marketing about a game I wanted. If it was there at all.

What 2k is doing is a buffet of information to me. I get new info every week, and most of the time, every day or every other day something new comes out.

The only thing it's doing for me is making me procrastinate on my pre-order. I'm still waiting on news to explain how (or if) they implemented attribute caps based on height for mycareer. Especially since i read people will be able to make pro am teams of 3 7'0 sf's and 2 7'2 c's, 5 7'0 sf's or any other combination, i'm getting tired of those clowns not having any drawbacks for making those freaks.

But of course, in the end, i'm gonna get the game regardless for 2 reasons: 1) i'm a hoops junkie and 2) 2k is still better than live afaik although i'll definitely be trying the live 16 pro am demo, it looks promising.
