Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Blog Wth Scott O'Gallagher
When LeBron dribbles up the court in the Bulls stadium, you see him breathe out and his cheeks fill with air. TINY detail that looks GREAT! Haha......wow man.
And the court shines......key and sideline reflections look SENSATIONAL. It's JUST right from looking at these. Gotta see it in HD of course but it has a "photo real" look about it which really adds to the immersion.
Players and courts now getting closer in terms of looks, add in the details from this and Czar's blogs and we have 365 days of addiction.

Sorry, but this situation is TOTALLY different. One "took over" by default because of a deal with the NFL (**** the NFL) that locked out the other - some consider the better - game. This one would be "taken over" on merit. You know, the RIGHT way to do things. Toe to toe, man to man.
I'm just saying I don't play Madden anymore because it's too much of the same to me and it's just not fun..2K took Live out because they couldn't keep up and they still found ways to progress without competition.
Now this year with Live (seemingly) making jabs at 2K, they've really done a lot between this and 15. Is it because of the "competition" or just because they've got all these new guys for a full cycle of development and a timing coincidence?
Either way 2K always puts out a great game but this year it's just on another level...that's why I like competition. Imagine if EA felt the pressure from anyone else for football games.I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

For one those REAL defensive schemes that you have video to show side by side!!
The fact that the AI adjusts to what you're trying to do, and the gameplan will be different each time, even from moment to moment during a game.
I think the biggest thing we loved about Inside Drive beyond the sim aspect was the fact that the AI was NOT predictable, and they not only made adjustments in game but took advantage of your mistakes with good basketball.
Its just that the AI was too good and never messed up really but the challenge was a pleasure.
I can't say enough how HUGE this stuff is. This is literally taking things to another level. In the past VIP was the closest 2k had to something similar to this but it didn't even work the way it was intended.
This is just next level stuff here IMO. I'd also say being able to change things via roster updates... thats the kind of stuff that is the future!Last edited by 23; 09-05-2015, 03:42 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Blog Wth Scott O'Gallagher
Yea definitely how the AI will be reacting and adjusting play by play, game by game, etc.
I felt like too many times I could see a double coming in 15 after scoring a lot, and know how to trigger a certain animation and get a free look at the basket anyway...basically turning the double team into an advantage for me.
So knowing now that there will be switches and more aggressive d once I start catching fire, I can apply better knowledge of the game instead of knowledge of the (video)game.
I mean not to say everything else wasn't insane. Especially all the pick and roll control, not only from the offensive standpoint but also defensively. I'm gonna go crazy looking for free time to try and perfect playing 16 like I've tried in all the other games.I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Literally everything. If I had to summarize everything in three words:
Adjustments, Behavior, Intelligence.
And if in two words:
Adaptive Intelligence.

I wonder how this will effect the game. Very few of you can play effective on ball defense. 90 percent of you play off ball defense. So cup D will now help you more than ever. I like having that advantage on my opponent. I hope it mAkes the 10 presenters more formidable.Preaching SIM & playing ARCADE ? C'mon son !Comment

I would like to know that controlling a bad on ball defender will feel completely different to a controlling a food on ball defender.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Blog Wth Scott O'Gallagher
- Improved hedge defending and how the I.Q of a player will impact things.
- The crowding and having guys like Kawhi, Iguodala, Allen etc actually FEEL differently in their defensive approach.
- The indicators for help defense and how well you've defended a shot.
- Adaptive Coaching Engine! And the ability to change things after spotting trends.
It all looks awesome but those were the highlights for me.
One worry I have is the full court pressure of guys like Delly on Steph. It's a great idea and I can't wait to see it play out. But in 2k15 there was an issue that you couldn't select who would inbound the ball, you also couldn't control team mates (depending on the game mode) to have them stay back and help you out.
In the real world if I'm still in the backcourt and somebody is locking me up, a team mate would run back to give me a passing option so I don't have to lob it across the court and hope they catch it. Will the A.I recognise when a backcourt team mate is in trouble and come back to help them out?
And will we be able to select a different player to inbound the ball?Comment
