Yes. The tendencies and player ratings for the classic teams - ESPECIALLY the new ones added this year were TERRIBLE. That's why most of them don;t play like their real life counter parts. I've been editing my legends roster since release day and still not finished yet, but, the game plays much better for it now.

I knew for Nick at the end of the 4th quarter. Great! (Shaq dance was less great!)

You miss some triangle offense but it is really good right now.
For example at 30 min 25 51/52 for the Lakers there is a good triangle and you can pass to Jordan. But Pippen scored a 3 pt so it is good too. Or you miss a blind pig between Pippen and Jordan at 26 min 53.
And when you score a 3 pt with buechler or kerr it is good but it is not totally after a great triangle (i suppose the level is pro but now i play pro too because it is so perfect for the ia).

At the end you are lucky Jordan recovered the ball on the inbound pass.

I want to see the same game at united center now!!! (With the 12 of course).
Yeah, some of the cuts/player movement in the triangle by the ai aren't quick enough so you miss opportunities, but overall, once you get to know the system and a few branches it works quite well, I rarely run any manual plays now - I just roll with the freelance triangle.

      Some more games:

The ending to this game tore my heart out, then STAMPED on it.

Dave, did you create Kevin Ollie for the 01 76ers?

Only got round to making a few caps so far - Sheed, Barkley, Okur and Sura.

I tried out a few teams with your tendencies last week - had a great game against Stockton and Malone, Karl showed up BIG!

The 01 Lakers weren't as cooperative though - Shaq kept on insisting on taking bizarre mid range jumpers and hardly posting up at all so I zeroed out his mid range and shot close tendencies - he seems to be banging in the post now after that.

This may have to do with my playbooks and playtypes though. I'm currently tweaking and changing them across the board to get players where they're supposed to be.

Oh yea, that's right, I remember that conversation now. That's weird that Shaq would take a bunch of midrange jumpers with his tendency set to 7. It looks like he did take a couple of midrange shots that year but you shouldn't see more than one per game at most. You won't want to zero it out completely though. Did you happen to have high values for your midrange shot tendency sliders?

I've added a few more defensive and shot location tendencies since then so you'll definitely want to check that out. Is what you have so far shared anywhere?

Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?

I've created a CAP for Sheed (2000 Portland and 2004 Pistons), Byron Russell (1998 Jazz) and Derek Fisher (2001 Lakers).

I'm still trying to figure out how tendencies affect AI performance. I wish there was a manual or e-book on these. You'd think 2K would have a help or "tip" when assigning values.

Ah, that may explain it, my mid range slider is cranked up because I'm a retro guy, I like the game to be similar to 80's and 90's NBA, more mid range and banging in the post than jacking up 3 balls.

Couldn't seem to get many guys originally taking mid range shots so increased the slider to get better results - you think that's why Shaq was taking them? Would I have better results just editing their mid range tendencies and lowering the mid range slider?

I've a huge amount of games on my youtube channel (see link in my signature) but I can't be certain of the particular games I was using your tendencies for.

Ahhh yeah, I made Byron Russell too. Not that my caps are any good, in fact I'm pretty bad at them!

Yeah, I feel you there, I've been editing my roster since release day - first time I've dived in this deep trying to get all the classic teams playing the way they should via tendencies. It's a long drawn out process for sure, and one I'm not convinced I'm getting very far with!!

daveberg, if u are playing '01 shaq, try this power post move play. it should work well within the triangle.

it may not work all the time, but can draw foul. also not sure consider cheese bcos i got block.

Thanks man, but it's not me personally that has the problem using Shaq, it's when the AI is controlling him - it makes him take ridiculous close/mid range jumpers when we all know SHaq couldn't shoot for crap and did 99.9% of his work under the basket.

Still working on the right mash up of tendencies and slider work, but over all I think he plays much better now I've tweaked his close shot/under basket numbers.

On the off chance you created Bob Sura for the 2004 Pistons, he was shipped out at the trade deadline for Rasheed Wallace. Dude was long gone and forgotten by the time that team began really clicking.

That is true, though he helps to bolster their extremely short handed squad that 2k gave them.

Is Mike James able to be signed from Free Agency? Or did they remove him? If he's still there, it's your world, but he'd be the best bet. He and Lindsey Hunter were two bulldogs in the backcourt during their run, trapping at halfcourt and all that fun stuff. If you've got Rasheed Wallace and Mehmet Okur already created, I'd say the only significant dude missing is Corliss Williamson, who'd won Sixth Man of the Year just two seasons prior.

Granted, I know you're a Bulls guy first, second, and third, just thought I'd weigh in for the Pistons contingent.

That buzzer beater looked fantastic though. The crowd responding like that is just a great, great, great addition.

P.S. Last Pistons note: For my own selfish reasons (i.e. if you post a Pistons video with the full roster), keep in mind that Rasheed Wallace was #30 on that squad, not #36. For some reason it seems like all the 2K Sheeds I'm seeing on that Pistons team are wearing #36. It's like if someone made '95 regular season MJ and he was rocking #23... albeit on a much lesser scale.
