I get the feeling that CPU's strategy based on your defence and offense gets reset if you quit the game at the half and start it again. So I've never suspended the game.lol.
I'm not sure, just speculating.

We know 2K is aware of it. This thread has been made for now 3 straight years. No way they're not aware of it. That said, it's either something that they can't fix, or involves too much to actually fix, and that it's not really worth it in the end.

The game is coded the way it's coded. Clearly there's something with the PS4 that limits the way the game saves highlights (evidenced by the fact that it works on X1). IF there's a way to re-write the game so that it works on the PS4, and IF it works, who's to say it then would still work on the X1? What else in the game would be affected? Nobody can know outside of the ppl that work on the game. Sounds like a copout, but 99% of us have no idea what the issue is, and with the way they (2K) have been working to improve the game, we should trust that they've looked into it and either can't fix it, or made the decision that it's too much risk to muck around in the code. Whatever the case, we're stuck with what we have, and that's that.

All that said, it's mind boggling to me that ppl would actually NOT buy the game because of this. I mean, yes it's a nice addition, but a gamebreaker? lol, man, I don't even know anymore. Hell, I think that if you have both systems, and let this one thing influence which one you get it for is a bit much, but I can understand. NOT getting the game altogether cause there are no highlights? What are you buying the game for in the first place? I just don't get it.

Nobody said they wont buy the game. They just wont buy it on the ps4. if one console offers the game as it is intended why get it on the console that limits it?

Let's think back. Remember when on the Original Xbox, NFL2k5 had halftime highlights in motion and PS2 had them in Pictures. But they told the ppl that upfront. And then said highlights will work if you had the PS2 HDD.

They was upfront, about it. All I'm saying is be upfront about it. If it's not patchable, ok live with it. If so then "We are working on the solution and it will be addressed."

You must get to the third quarter. Make sure the inbounds happen first.

Then pause the game. Click quit and save. Exit game completely.

PS4 Records via Hardware, it has a built in chip for streaming and recording. The Devs have nothing to do with except for what could be shared. This is one of the first things revealed about the PS4 when it was first introduced. This memory statement is baffling as well, when the PS4 has a larger memory bus using GDDR5 so I don't understand that argument.

Because it is bull**** lies.

They have changed the reasoning for this every year now. It just looks bad when your direct competitor has no issues with it and even moreso when you advertise the awesome amazing halftime show and presentation when it doesn't even work properly.

It is just bad form and seeing people handwave it away is sad.

Not a game breaker by no means (especially since the highlights themself kinda suck lol) but 2k keeps getting a free pass for gross incompetence somehow.

As stated above, at least own up to it. "we messed up and will work to patch it later mah bad" instead of excuses and lies every year.

I did as you said and when I go to quit it says "are you sure you want to quit? Any unsaved progress will be lost". I'm just playing play now games does that matter?

Yep, my...stuff only. Just create a throw away myleague file and check out the post game highlights. So much more immersive. Really a tough pill to swallow not to be able to get the whole experience in one take. I'm really hoping the presentation guru is a simulation 12 minute quarters kind of 2k player and continues to push for a fix. This is someone's work of art just as is gameplay and artificial intelligence. Presentation is the piece that ties everything together.

Yes, there is a work around on the ps4 and for that I am grateful. But I was expecting so much more this go around to match the on court beauty.

Can anybody playing on the One confirm highlights are working on that console before I buy one?

They work on 12 minutes. Post game show with highlights is pretty short though-- mainly Jordan player of the game and some Shaq/Ernie/Kenny commentary, with 4-5 clips (seemed longer in 2K15). But the full highlight reel for all players is there in box scores.

I miss the old 2K12 presentation package with a post game mix of highlights from both teams, and a photo package. The older half time show also seemed more detailed, though I like that they incorporate more (almost entirely?) shots from broadcast.

I play 8 mins quick games. Never seen one highlight reel at halftime or post game.

No highlights for halftime/post-game/player of the game can definitely be a gamebreaker to many. The presentation take a major hit without out in-game highlights as far as immersion is concerned.

I've seen halftime highlights on 12 mins but not after quarter highlights.

1. PS4 and XB1 are mid level PC's, with GPU/CPU designed and made by AMD.

2. Memory XB1 8gb of DDR3/32mb of ESram giving it a bus of 102gbs
3. Memory PS4 8gb of GDDR5 unified Memory giving it a bus of 176gbs. Unified Memory of GDDR5 gives them access to GPGPU compute as well as "Huma (heterogenous unified memory architecture) the next wave of programming.

Nothing exotic or out of the mainstream. It's not a PS4 problem, it's a priority list situation, and high lights on the PS4 is low hanging fruit that will not be giving attention.

Let me clarify some of the misinformation being spread in this thread:

THERE IS A WAY TO GET HALFTIME HIGHLIGHTS WITH 12MIN QUARTERS.

THERE IS A WAY TO GET QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS WITH 12MIN QUARTERS.

THERE IS A WAY TO GET END OF GAME HIGHLIGHTS WITH 12MIN QUARTERS.

It doesnt work as well as the X1 but there are ways to get them:

Halftime and Quarter Highlights:

- Play a game and make sure its the first game youve played since you've started NBA2k. Thats it. For some reason on the ps4, it doesnt work if you have already played a game previously.

End of Game Highlights (MY GM/League only):

- After Halftime, save and exit the game. Go back in the game and EOG/Player of the game highlights will work but it will only show highlights from the second half.

Still trying to find a workaround for individual player highlights. They seem to work until the middle of the 3rd quarter and then they disappear.
