Let me clarify some of the misinformation being spread in this thread:

THERE IS A WAY TO GET HALFTIME HIGHLIGHTS WITH 12MIN QUARTERS.

THERE IS A WAY TO GET QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS WITH 12MIN QUARTERS.

THERE IS A WAY TO GET END OF GAME HIGHLIGHTS WITH 12MIN QUARTERS.

It doesnt work as well as the X1 but there are ways to get them:

Halftime and Quarter Highlights:

- Play a game and make sure its the first game youve played since you've started NBA2k. Thats it. For some reason on the ps4, it doesnt work if you have already played a game previously.

End of Game Highlights (MY GM/League only):

- After Halftime, save and exit the game. Go back in the game and EOG/Player of the game highlights will work but it will only show highlights from the second half.

Still trying to find a workaround for individual player highlights. They seem to work until the middle of the 3rd quarter and then they disappear.

Thats a lot to do to get something to work that should be working. I dont see running around doing tricks to get something to work. Many dont read OS to know the workarounds

Damn man. Thats alot of work? Making sure the game you play is the first one? Saving and exiting a game once?

I'm gonna sound old but I dont get this generation at all. OS used to be about discussing workarounds when there were bugs in a game.

We all agree that it should work the same on each system but here is the reality.......It doesnt and 2k has shown zero inclination to fix this.

Now you have a few options:

- Buy the game on the X1.
- Use the workarounds to get the highlights.
or
- Complain on a message board.

The first two get you highlights....the last one doesnt.

I just played a my GM game on 8 min quarters and got halftime and post game highlights. I have since I first got the game. It's weird that it's not working for others.

Does having a 2TB HDD matter?

There shouldn't be a workaround for something that works in every other sports game on the market. Just want to make a note to those following this thread. You don't have to power down your PS4. You simply close out the game and fire it back up.

Personally, I'm not thrilled but it is a workaround that I'll use. I'm not content but I'm grateful for it. It's the best we could hope for at least for now if 2k continues not to find a resolution. I am mentally gearing up to get an XB1 for 2k17 or possibly even just waiting for 2k18. Don't really want an extra system cluttering my room. I skipped 2k15 because there wasn't a legitimate halftime show. Seeing the trailer drop for the pre-game, halftime, post-game show was simply icing on the cake and I naturally assumed it would be in full working operations day one for both systems.

2k16 is still a great tasting steak, one of the best I have ever had, but it's missing that something that would make it the best to date. Presentation or the lack there of (i.e. halftime) is why I skipped 2k15. I'll enjoy 2k16 for what it is, but I'm mentally prepared to go 2 years with 2k16 and skip 2k17.

Listen man is hard to tell someone who drops 65 on a game or 85 for Jordan version to find workarounds and be like old OS forum days. If you bought a car and I told you that you had to stop every 10 miles to inflate the tires so the car would run as advertised would you think is ok you can deal with it or not. You expect to get what you paid for and was advertised.

I am with you 100% percent that if this was a one year deal and we needed to find a way to deal with the nonsense fine. But 3 years in a row and we have to settle for it because if not we are now considered bitching about it

I am just saying if you have a PS4 only then there is not much to do. But those that have the option should get it for PC or XB1 as their version works like the back of the box indicates (figure of speech)

How is this a Sony Problem? you guys who say this is way out of line. The PS4 and the XB1 Share the same architecture period. They are more of a PC than a console.

Madden, Fifa, PES2016, NBA Live, MLB the Show, and NHL Highlights work no problems. It's 2k code, not the PS4, and they don't plan on doing anything about it.

Remember it didn't work on the XB1 until last year when they decided it was a priority for them to do so. So they patched it in.

Are you seriously comparing purchasing a 65 dollar game to a purchasing a car? LOL. If I have to inflate my tires every 10 miles thats a potential safety issue. Restarting a game isnt.

Also comparing a necessary part of a car (tires) to a nice but not necessary feature of a game (halftime/end of game highlights) is just a horrible analogy.

Nobody is even calling the complaints "bitching". I'm a solutions oriented guy. I would be right here with you guys complaining if there wasnt a workaround or if the workaround was complicated....but its not. Its starting a game over once you complete a game.

Finally no one is telling you to settle for it but you do need to be realistic. 2k is quick to fix most bugs with a patch or worse case scenario, the next year. They are constantly on these forums and have known about the ps4 highlight bug for years. They have never bothered to fix it. Why?

One, most people dont play more than 8 min quarters. Alot of people on OS do but we are not even close to the majority of people who buy this game. This is not a huge concern for most people who play the game. Two, I have a feeling that the bug is too difficult for them to fix. If it wasnt, we wouldve had a fix by now given their track record.

I'm not saying you have to accept it but those are the facts. Like I said, you have 2 options that get you highlights or you can continue to complain and hope that after 3 years, 2k will finally listen.

I question your reading comprehension skills because I've never made an excuse for 2k. I just said there are workarounds. People were posting and acting as if there was no way to get highlights on more than 8 min quarters and there is.

Now people just come here to complain and bash and arent looking for a solution. The response to a workaround (especially an easy one) should be "Cool. Glad I can get this to work but 2k needs to fix this so I dont need to use it. "

Instead nowadays its "Why do I have to use a ****ing workaround? This game should work as advertised! I dont want to have to do anything more than start the game because I spent 65 dollars."

Just know that this isnt really backlash on 2k. Its one thread on a message board and its about a bug thats 3 yrs old. A bug that most of you knew about if you bought 2k14 or 15 and you still bought 2k16. 2k's really not losing here in any way.

I figured if 2k14 has halftime highlights always, why are we getting the disappearing halftime highlights for 2k16?

Note: Still trying to figure out if there's a better workaround for 2k16 so we get everything for the PS4. If it's supposedly the cache, wish there was some way to reset the cache at the start of the 3rd quarter. Couldn't 2k program a 'cache removal' button combination of some sort, or whatever is necessary to clear the cache.

I think this is a new bug and its tied to the amount of highlights they show during the halftime show. In 2k14, there were maybe 3-4 plays that they showed from the half. With the new show, there are anywhere from 10-20 shown.

It's very likely that it's the number of plays being "recorded," but I've marathoned 2k14 for like hours on end (heavy amount of games on 12 minute quarters, yeah I had nothing else to do during the weekend), playing consecutive games back to back to back, etc, but the halftime highlights has always been there (and obviously no postgame highlights, but I'm simply looking strictly at halftime right now).

I mean did the "cache" simply reset itself after every single game in 2k14?

Let's say it was 3-4 plays for 2k14, but if I played say 20 consecutive games, halftime highlights would still be there. 3-4 x 20 games = 60-80 plays total without having to shut down 2k14.

What is your take on 2k programming the game to reset the cache somehow for 2k16's patch or whatever necessarily behind the scene software coding required? It's a limited cache thing right?
