Half time and player of the game highlights work but the latter are really bad. You get to see only the very last seconds of the plays and many times instead of the play all you see is the floor or the bench.
I don't think individual player highlights are available (tried every button), same as end of game highlights (unless they are hidden somewhere i wasn't able to locate)

This is my main concern. It will be the first thing I check when I fire up my PSN preorder come Friday/This Weekend.

Even though it was confirmed by Nevertheless to be fully working including the player individual highlights (for at least one game on 12 minutes), I will be running a marathon session on 12 minute quarters. If I can get 10 to 15 games straight, I'll give it a go. I will be doing different testing methods. I will shoot all 3's in the first half and the second half drive to the basket for all 2's. Then vice versa for the next game and see if I actually get those respective highlights for each half.

My other approach will be to button through animations for one game and not button through for the next game and see how the highlights turn out.

I will be testing on quick game and franchise mode.

Back in the day you could watch highlights in online gms. Wonder why they stopped that?

Of course it's worth it. (and that's water, orange juice or milk by the way because I don't drink; tried it at someone's wedding, but never cared for it)

(A) Halftime highlights for 2k16 completely stopped working after probably about the 3rd consecutive game. Thus, just working after 2 consecutive games doesn't necessarily mean it'll work after 2 consecutive games.
(B) It's worth it to those who choose to run NBA2k marathons during their off days or weekends that care about halftime and post game highlights. I will be the guinea pig.
(C) It's worth it because this was the reason why I was going to completely skip 2k17.
(D) It's worth it because I completely skipped NBA2k15 when I found out they took out the halftime show with Damon Bruce.
(E) It's worth it because I vowed never to buy another 2k basketball game for the PS4 if this doesn't get fixed.
(F) It's worth it because it rounds out the gameplay experience.

Nevertheless was kind enough to do a test run to confirm that it works at least for one game, and thus I preordered it digitally. I wouldn't be playing 2k17 this week or this year had Nevertheless didn't confirm it.

Plus, that was what I was going to do anyway, so I might as well.

I am giving 2k $60 dollars (was there tax on digital, don't recall), or however much percentage they get per digital sales because they attempted to "fix" the issue.
