Another tip to everyone....don't forget that you can end your drive on a hopstep or spin move. Very underrated move.

Yep, especially when they're riding your hip....good way to get some space and finish....

Also a great move when your in a one on one situation on a fast break. I like that you have to guess this right or end up getting a charge as well...

Yes the defense is better but it's WAY too sticky. If I clearly beat a defender I should not get sucked into an animation or get bumped off my line to the basket. It's extremely annoying.

If you get bumped, then use your signature pull back dribbler, and reset. Like in real life, you're not going to be successful on the first attempt. At this point, there's enough video evidence and tips demonstrating it's not that hard to get past defenders. In my online games, I dare someone to leave me alone against the CPU defender. Play off-ball if you want, but don't be mad when I getting into the paint and fouling out your bigs.

With my on-ball defense (nope, I don't trust the CPU to play defense for me, and that's based on what I'm doing), freelance offense, and explosive launches, I feel like a juggernaut in online games with the Pacers. Once I get the mid-range and 3PT shooting a little more consistent, I'm going to feel like a king...haven't had that feeling since NBA 2K11.

I use absolute for the pro stick. It's easier than relative, because sometimes I take shot types that I didn't want.

Another tip to everyone....don't forget that you can end your drive on a hopstep or spin move. Very underrated move.

Also combine that with one last pump fake and you'll have big chance of and1 or an open shot/layup etc.

I have a bad feeling this game is going to get patch..hope not. But when they say I can't get pass the cpu (5 vs 5)these things comes in mind.

Why are you trying to get past the cpu?
This game is base on ball movement!!
Maybe they are playing you aggressively (play smart)
You have to know when to drive ( patience)
Some moves will not work..depending on cpu schemes!!
This is not 2k15...just let the game marinate you will love it.

I'll end with this..true sim heads like myself love how this game is playing, because it (adapts) challenge you to think and change your game plans. It's not a crime to drop a levels and fix sliders if you can't take the HEAT lol.

What most people are saying and some videos have showed are defenders that are dead to rights beat off the bounce are recovering by morphing/sliding, I'm a sim head too that's why I don't wanna see that in the game. The defense is fine besides that issue.

Morphing is in all video games, if the defender slides into me i'll give up the rock. I kind of understand the logic of that and except it..sorry i'm a defensive minded guy.

Can someone actually EXPLAIN the timing necessary to explode out of isomotion or size ups? Practicing, not knowing what to look for is not working.

I've tried:
-Right when the ball hits in the hand I want to drive towards
-When the ball hits the hand opposite the side I want to drive
-When the ball is bouncing
-In between all of these

I simply am not exploding out of these moves like the CPU does.

There is nothing wrong with the CPU on-ball. You guys just need to get better. Here are some of my videos below. Look at the defender's feet and position then attack accordingly. This is on Superstar difficulty against Paul George, one of the best defenders in the game.

I blow by him clean.

Please stop with the "you need to get better" crap. There is more than enough evidence proving that the cpu's defense is extremely sticky and needs a fix. When you get ahead of the defender, you will get bumped or sucked into an animation more times than you will actually blow by him like you should. And it happens regardless of the defenders attributes. Bad defenders and slow defenders play lockdown D. I'm not saying we need to completely nerf the D so that we can score at will, but there is no way that any intelligent person can say that this aspect of the game doesn't need some tweaking.

I'm the same as you. I love the defensive side of the ball more than offense. But I have a coach's mentality. So when I have a mismatch, I want to exploit it.

The way the CPU defense plays now prevents that from happening. You can't exploit mismatches on the perimeter due to the sticky D and morphing animations. Regardless of the "But but I can score just fine!" comments, there is clearly a problem here. Shaq locking down Jordan on the perimeter shouldn't happen. You should be able to exploit whatever the defense is giving up.

I know it's been said before but I hope they do not patch the defense. If you're trying to turbo and crossover your way into the paint, it's not going to work and it shouldn't. The key is to take what the defender is giving you. Different players will guard you differently. Size ups are geared more towards creating space for a shot and they work pretty well for that. I'm not sure if everyone realizes but you can just blow past people who are over playing or shading you without having to get fancy. I've yet to have trouble getting to the basket if it's there. As far as the cutoffs, they probably should be fouls but how would you implement that? Yes hip riding is in this year but I think cutoffs are necessary for balance. Now if they're gonna be called fouls, it would have to be equal block/charge if the cutoff is in time to keep the offense from being op again.

As it has been said, the problem is that you CAN'T take what the defense gives you. If I get Chris Paul guarded by Deandre Jordan (Same team I know but you get the point), that's a mismatch that I should be able to blow by. But the CPU does not allow that due to the morphing and bumping. Sure, you make get by occasionally with some move that you found, but more times than not you'll get bumped out of the way. And if you do get ahead, the cpu will often morph back in front of you. There have been SEVERAL videos showing this problem.
