This works for a few selected fast point guards. I couldn't even do it with Lebron. And also you have to move the same direction of the ball hand.

Yes man didn't realize this until I went into practice a few more times.

My word of advice. If you are doing a left sig sizeup with the hopes of driving. Put the ball in your left hand first perform the move wait to the last dribble animation happens the ball will be in the last then explode (turbo) and drive towards the same hand left. If you don't this you will not get the best launch and may see a hitch. This seems to be the case for most.

If you do the opposite you have to do another manual cross to explode by just left stick.

This game is deep as.... hell

I did one more test with Harden.I interrupted his right size up when the ball went to his right hand i pressed turbo and right...he boosted but initiated contact at the same time ...it seems he gave a slight elbow to the defender as he drove past . Lol the defender hesitated a little from the contact which gave harden the upper hand as he drove to the rim...he still missed the layup but i got by my defender and watching it all take place in slo mo was dope

Re: How do i get past CPU?

There are so many instances that you should realize your matchup d is frozen by your right input and you should know to use to your offensive players strength. The below example of Mine has been created in so many different ways as i keep playing and this is on Süperstar Sim difficulty.

Please check how Roberson had No idea where i ended up shooting.

You need to be able to read and react to defense to explode your way to basket or open shot.
Also this game has so many fundamentals down right and even nba basketball isn't solely about 1v1 plays on offense. It's 48 minutes game and what you most see are just 2-3 Highlights in a game of at least 160 different offensive action. Do your math. Respect the game respect your opponent or just lower the difficulty and try to enhance from lower difficulties.

Please stop whining, you're the reason that 2k devs end up like 2k15 4th patch!

Please just understand there is so much learning curve in this years game b4 getting posinous.

added this in the dribbling thread, could help some here too

                  - In the past there have been multiple explosive launching points out of size ups, now it seems not only are the launching windows tighter, they seem to be towards the end of the size up.

                  - Less is more verses a big man. If you have a mismatch you can often just size up backwards and blow past or hesitate one direction and beat them after they lean.

                  - Know when to quit on contact. Often times when attacking there is contact and the controller shakes. Depending on who you have and defended by, you may need to pull back before you're grinded to a hault. This could be the difference between success and being stuck on an island with a dead dribble.

                  - I could be wrong, but i think there are actually 5 size-ups. The fifth I believe is 'towards the hand without the ball'. This one seems to be specifically for crossing over and timing this one properly has created some nice opportunities.

I recommend those struggling go to the blacktop with their individual players. It helps.

Same. I went and practiced with Curry vs Kyrie for quite awhile. I think it helped a lot with my overall feel on both sides of the ball. My observations:

You can't really just left-right past the CPU. And it seems that a lot of actions don't work in close contact. I'm not sure how I feel about this but some of it makes sense as you might not always be able to do a cross in close proximity with the defender crowding you in real life.

Blow-bys happen a lot more frequently when you are moving forward with some momentum. Curry's behind the back leaves Kyrie in the dust often.

Launches out of size ups and hesitations seem difficult. The are times when an opening seems wide as day but your player doesn't respond to input. Perhaps I'm not hitting the launch points or this is supposed to reflect foot planting but it doesn't seem as dynamic and free flow as past games. There are a lot of conditions and animations during which you can't seem to execute the move you want. I'm not sure how I feel about this and whether some of this is an anti cheese measure.

The step-back size up for Curry is deadly. It often causes defenders to move back and freeze for a open shot. The simple step back is also pretty nice and chains really well.

Practice on blacktop definitely makes things better on both sides of the ball rather than brute forcing things to endless bumping animations.

This video was a good example, but in real life Clarkson would not be able to recover like that once Harden got his shoulder past him and would have had to foul him. The play in the video more often than not does not result in a foul for the user, which just bails out the CPU when the user executes a successful move. There are too many bail out animations for the CPU such as that one that have been in 2K for years. The hesitation, teleporting defenders, dunks that bring the ball back to be blocked and other bail out animations continue to plague this game. Practice makes perfect, but this needs to change.

One other piece of advice would give, and I think someone touched on this.....is when your controller rumbles that doesn't mean you're stopped...if you know you beat your guy to the spot (assuming there's no tomfoolery which I definitely acknowledge there is) and know you have the faster guy....you can trigger the "ride your hip" action and make you're way to the basket.

                          I actually helped a 2k YouTuber with this...haha

SN: Say what you want about the 2k youtubers but some really are interested in learning the game and getting tips....I guess so they can look good on their videos, haha

In this one, CP3 turns into a stumbling hunch back hermit after getting completely by Stockton. All of the animations that I'm posting are very similar to the hitch that was happening in 2k15 when you try to drive into an open lane.

That's a problem when you are playing 5 vs 5. The improved AI combined with offensive lineman bumps and godslides make for a pretty wonky ball handling experience.

Watch Damian Lillard shade me on this pick and roll. He is nearly completely past me but insta-god-slides in front of me.

This post was beautiful lol these animations never happen to the CPU. I would like a dev or anybody from 2K to explain why these animations even exist smh Some of the things that happen in this game have never come close to happening in a real game. Not expecting it to totally mimic reality, but some things are inexcusable for a basketball simulation.

At first: In my opinion the game is so much better than the previous years! I'm gaming since 2k8 and about 2k11 on HOF difficulty until 2k16. The years before onn HOF you always tought that the CPU is cheating on you - but it was the only challenging difficulty.

But now i have to fight on All-Star - but i love it. It's so realistic imo on a good challenging base.

For the "How do i get past CPU"-problem i have one solution who's really working good for me. When i get in Iso-Situations i go with speed on the opponent's weak side and ~the free-throw line i attempt to get in drive to the basket with simply pressing the shooting-button and it work's really good particularly in mismatch situations!

Man honestly i couldnt i say if clarkson couldnt recover like that irl stuff happens...irl folks wouldve never thought iverson wouldve crossed jordan up it happens..... random stuff happens in the nba ..my thing is I didnt feel CHEATED at all and thats all that mattered/matters..it felt good, I got BY...point proven that its POSSIBLE..Dont get me wrong there are/were times I felt cheated by the cpu AI in other games and even past 2ks and lives, but so far on Allstar difficulty on 16 I cant complain...I've had worse happen to me on games with less control and horrible graphics....no complaints here

Teleporting dunks..players warping etc...didnt start with 2k nor will it end ..its a video game it happens...my only gripe is how much it does happen (which is less than some games now and early 90's/00's bball games from ea & 2k i've played) even da czar and Og mentioned "there will be sliding in 2k16 (it happens)our job was to minimize as much as we could with the new footplanting ...it wont be perfect but it will be better" this was via a simhangout video so I already approached 2k16 with rl expectations...All I can say is if you want perfection go outside and play a human in a game of basketball...cant beat that overall experience at all..ps The cpu wasnt bailed out I was harden(no foul was called on me when it shouldve been for the elbow technically) If im understanding the 1st part of your post correctly.....
