I've noticed this too. Especially in Mycareer. It's a bit frustrating when my teammates can't set a screen. It's been difficult to score but I like that. Once I improve my player and get used to the game. It'll be challenging and fun.

Re: How do i get past CPU?
The problem with the defense seems to be that realistic offensive counter moves aren't responsive or effective enough. I'm not talking about cheesy moves either. If I drive hard right and the defender overplays it and I perform a behind the back dribble or crossover to the left, that should create space for a drive or shot against sub-par defenders. Only elite defenders should be able to recover on moves like that more often than not, but it seems like all CPU guards and wings are psychics that mirror your every move. I still need more practice, but this is just an early observation.

Re: How do i get past CPU?
I wouldn't say that. They don't necessarily leave them in the dust, but they are able to get by them enough to get off a less contested shot. Doesn't really happen vs. Cpu in this game. Shaq has solid perimeter defense in this game. LolComment

Re: How do i get past CPU?
Anyone who has played basketball knows how difficult it is to guard someone who is fast and/or can handle the ball. Playing against Curry, Paul, Westbrook, James, etc. you wither have to play off a little bit an give up a slightly contested shot or play up and get ready to be blown by. Not every player can just do whatever moves and get by their defender but the best players are able to get wherever they want on the floor and are able to get their shots off. Great players are pretty much unguardable, you just have to hope they're having an off night. Don't get me wrong I love this game and love the way 2k plays but I would be lying if I didn't say I understand some of the complaints. The ultimate goal would be to use chris paul, steph curry, and westbrook and be able to get my shot off and get to wherever I want on the floor like they would be able to do in real life.

Re: How do i get past CPU?
This guy on youtube called Shakedown2012 has the best handles i've ever seen in NBA 2K, he can literally break the cpu's ankles every time if he wanted. Im so wish I would do handles like him.Comment

Re: How do i get past CPU?
When being guarded by a slow big, look at where they are defending from. They want to give you the jump shot.Comment

Pretty much how it always happens for the AI and how it's been for years. Idk how this has never been addressed..Comment

Re: How do i get past CPU?
Just had Chris Kaman guarding John Wall. Wall beats him off the dribble, gets slightly ahead of him, Kaman manages to warp ahead and defend the shot as Wall goes up for a layup.

they completely run past you in order to shade, then they slide back in front of you before you can take half a step....it's silly
there are also some clear "stuck in the mud" or "hitch" animations for ball handlers.....I'm going to post a couple of videos of these later tonight or tomorrow
probably going to put them in a separate thread hoping more people will actually look at them thoughComment

Re: How do i get past CPU?
I'm not against people complaints because that's what feedbacks and reports are for. and maybe 2k will tweak and tune defense a little bit. but do anyone believe in drive and kicks?...set up plays for your teammates. just because you have the lane to score means nothing, defenders can use angels to beat you to the spot and reach out with arms and hands to defend the paint. your going to have plenty of chances to score...just take your time and use your squad.Last edited by DmaXmius101; 09-27-2015, 09:14 PM.Comment

Yeah but even on pro the CPU is really good at rotating and taking away a drive and kick.Comment

Re: How do i get past CPU?
No need to defend anything when proof there is a way to beat the CPU is being posted multiple times in this thread ...and I have yet to see any examples of the opposite...only more examples of how "player X can't beat player X"
Pretty telling. If it's not something you actually want help on why not lower the CPU on ball sliders? You can control how easy it is to waltz past anyone to your personal preference.
It's definitely not a perfect system though...I agree with the poster that counters should be sharper, especially against elite defenders since they can body up so well...

Re: How do i get past CPU?
I'm a big fan of Shake, and look gorward to challenging him on the park since he has a similar playstyle. As far as the best handles...naw. He has gone through and learned the proper way to launch with the left stick from all hissize ups though.Female Russell Westbrook.

Re: How do i get past CPU?
In this one, CP3 turns into a stumbling hunch back hermit after getting completely by Stockton. All of the animations that I'm posting are very similar to the hitch that was happening in 2k15 when you try to drive into an open lane.
That's a problem when you are playing 5 vs 5. The improved AI combined with offensive lineman bumps and godslides make for a pretty wonky ball handling experience.
Watch Damian Lillard shade me on this pick and roll. He is nearly completely past me but insta-god-slides in front of me.

I know you have to notice some of the awful hitches/stuck in the mud animations that ball handlers get

For some reason your videos are coming up choppy....ill check on my actual computer and see what is going on. I actually commented on your post about the "hitches" already and gave my take on them. I haven't really seen them since I got a grip on ball handling tbh
Here's some actual 5 on 5 play where I got Kaman (who was used in the example above) on me....easy money...
https://vid.me/lOfw
Here's another, I decided to assign Kaman on Wall to see if I could duplicate it....I didn't even do a move this time...BBQ chicken

I'm not really doing anything fancy here or claiming to be a master on the sticks....but I mean, I'm putting it right here

Re: How do i get past CPU?
Unfortunately due to online play (Park, Pro Am etc.) the defense HAS to be this "sticky", otherwise it just becomes a massive cheesefest like last year.
I agree with most of you that it's frustrating and a slight "blow to the ego" that playing on Superstar is much harder as I've always played Superstar Sim, but I'd rather just drop the difficulty down to All Star and have a more enjoyable time than have 2K overcompensate and ruin online play by making blowing by people much easier again.
It's a balance that needs to be walked to keep both forms of play (online and offline) working reasonably well in line with one another.Comment
