This is hilarious...I play on-ball D 95% of the time and I feel your pain. It's really frustrating when you see the rare occasion where these off ballers try and defend their man, and they end up biting for EVERY pump fake and being out of position on any juke. LoL...

2K needs to show me on-screen where these off baller lames are hiding. Which man they're on. They can especially exploit a team such as the Wizards (the one I main) when Gooden is on the floor. He's not much of a scorer around the rim these days, and can't really create his own shot in 2K. A play needs to be run for him to get a good look. So, the off baller lames will just control the dude that guards him the whole match, playing passing lanes and trying to block shots with helpout defense. Even more interesting is how so many OS'ers defend this practice of non-skill/non-interactive defense (they must do it themselves).

That stuff is beatable. You have to ask yourself though how teams beat it in actual basketball.

In this game, the quick cut and quick handoff buttons are really your friends in this scenario.

Once you get that going and get some free easy runs to the basket the CPU will recognize it needs to back off a little, and it will.

Teams "beat it" in actual basketball because the ref blows the whistle, and defensive players don't have the ability to slide/warp 5-6 ft to recover on blow bys.

This is bad bumping such a dead thread but holy crap is this real in 2K17 as well.

Just way too much OP CPU on-ball defense.

Look at the way the CPU's feet shuffle on defense. They look like they're ice-skating.

          It's absolutely annoying.

It's not about being beatable. I can beat it with pick and rolls or any money play.

It's about being realistic. Blow-bys happen 1-on-1 at the highest level. Watch PG13 in the first round against the Cavs this year. Watch Lebron on any given night. Watch John Wall, CP3 with the hesi moves.

Quick e.g. of PG13, a 6'8/6'9 SF blowing by Kyrie, a very quick point guard.

          <div style="position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dRHevqpEQ4o?ecver=2" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" style="position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;le ft:0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>

Go to 1:05. There is no dribble move to fake him out. He just gets by. This is what needs to happen in 2K17. However, look who's there to contest, Double TT, their C in this lineup.

2K needs to understand off-ball defensive movement is the focus of the modern NBA. Rotations and such. Not insane on-ball D.
