Thats "practice" though...from my experience with the game..its more forgiving in practice mode (like irl ..just shooting around and getting into a rhythm with no defense or distractions you can shoot a high percentage vs against someone defending you) .

I'm ...confused. Why shouldn't a player of his caliber be able to do that unguarded, while practicing alone?

I mean, considering Steph made 77 3s in a row in 'practice', I'd definitely see it as being possible.

Practice mode and "the game" use completely different tuning.

why would you tune practice mode differently? doesn't that seem counter intuitive?

also, why do 3 pointers resemble about what I'm seeing in game in that case?

When you say "practice" are you referring to 5 on 5? Because shooting alone in the gym will obviously mean a ton more made shots...thats what's for.

                  empty gym

Then why are players shooting much closer to game % from 3 during practice? It's a fair question that doesn't seem to make much sense.

They should be making a lot more if the tuning is different, no?

Should note, that I made that post earlier today without knowing that they've tweaked shooting somewhat. I haven't had a chance to play the game that much for the past week.

Because gameday vs practice environments are totally different.....Practice is more of easy going/relaxing environment...theres no stress of outside factors to mentally mess up your rhythm..a place to refine skills/shots..no defenders.its just you,the ball, and the basket.
Its not counter intuitive ..Game day everything comes into play which could cause your player to be on or off....I'll give them that its like REAL LIFE...like someone mentioned Steph hit 77 3s in a row a practice ,but we all know gameday thats not happening. It would make no sense for the practice and actual game day tuning to be the same seeing that both are on different extremes IRL...thats just mho.

if that's the case then why aren't 3's falling at a much higher clip in practice? i keep asking but no one is wanting to answer it.

People keep saying "but steph made 77 3's in real life in practice." Despite the Steph claiming this, I never believed it to be true and never will unless I see it myself. But that is really besides the point.

Second of all, you probably can't even hit 10 3's in a row with Steph in practice in this game. At least I sure can't on superstar sim.

I even posted a challenge to get 3 green releases in a row with Steph from 3 on superstar/sim and nobody was able to do it that I'm aware of.

So, relative to 3 point shooting, why would mid range be so OP in practice but not be tuned to be OP in game?

Something isn't adding up. Especially when I've been watching mid range jumpers fall in like crazy with very mediocre jump shooters in game.

Like I've said, I haven't played much since they tweaked it, so maybe it has changed.

One thing to keep in mind, is that practice mode should be practice mode for the video game IMO....practice mode is basically useless for jump shooting if they are going to tune it differently than the actual game

the only thing it would be good for is ball handling

Because lets be REAL just because you are chucking up 3s in practice doesnt mean they are going to go in at a higher percentage..it happens IRL..I see it at the gym all the time...have seen it LIVE at a Memphis Grizzlies practice...hell I've seen Conley suck behind the 3pt line at a practice and come gameday he was wet from behind the line...thats just the nature of the beast with basketball...somethings dont need an answer because its already understood...thats how I view it.

I could say the same thing about mid range jumpers, yet that is not how they work in practice in this game

why would this apply to one but not the other?

in fact, it is the entire argument i've been making lol

Yeah but for some "odd" (lol) reason IRL during the grizzlies practice...hitting midrange shots was like throwing a basketball into the ocean for alot of the players on the team True Story...made me mad cause it looked so easy...I'm just only going by my eyes and telling my experiences of seeing these dudes practice behind the scenes and play live game day .
