"Midrange Cheese" does not exist in 5v5 gameplay. You can't go left and right with a player and then shoot a midrange in a 5v5 setting, there is simply not enough space to do this. I think majority of us (or I am at least) are talking about the midrange cheese fest at the park/stage.

Played agains the number 2 ranked team in pro am last night. I even recorded it on my twitch. Mid range cheese is def in effect. All they did the ENTIRE game was have their guards run in and out of their bigs "brick wall screens" until we got knocked on our asses. Pull up from mid or fade away from mid. Green lights the whole time. Still only lost by 2 in overtime but Mid range cheese is true. Its just the fact Deadeye and green bars are so easy to get no matter the situation. Those of you that say its not cheese play offline/mycareer or some other gamemode that doesnt have people constantly tying to get an edge on you. It has nothin to do with "simulation" basketball.

It's about balance and mid range has been inbalanced since last year

How often should a 16 foot jump shot go in unguarded? By a shooter with good ratings 85-99?

70-85, 85-99... doesn't matter. These are professional basketball players. If they are wide open, unguarded for a middange shot, they should make it. Period. These are NBA players. Think about it.

Um, us smart players avoid going in for layups and dunks when we have an open shot. We realize how vicious the interior defense is this year with the big men, and we don't want to risk the game giving us terrible layup animation choices to where we get our **** swatted all the way to Namek. That, and we don't like getting Active Handed on the other half of the drives. Plus, we realize that the game just doesn't like to call fouls at random moments of the game, especially when the other team begins to go on a run.

So no, nothing is 'wrong' with that.

Do free throws too count? By your logic, every NBA player should be hitting at a 100% clip. Free throws are basically wide open, uncontested shots.

I really hate how 2k is trying to make the game realistic by forcing perfectly good shots to just miss and force everybody to have a shooting percentage that matches the NBA.

It's still a video game. We don't get tired, we don't have pressure, we don't have a crow and distractions. So yes we can shoot more than 50% of open jumpers. Don't force us into a fake shooting percentage by deliberately making us miss open shots. That is the real cheese.

I really think those that are complaining a ton are the ones that cant play defense in this game. Its unfortunate that we label everything "Cheese" nowadays. The game hasn't been out 2 weeks and people are complaining heavy (some legitimate and some aren't). Give yourself time to make adjustments rather than run to OS to complain about something. With the 3 point percentage increased its just going to force guys to play defense that much better. If you were struggling before hand then you may struggle even more now.

Factor in shooting with rhythm in mid-range shots and the greater pressure of hitting a free throw and your theory changes

That'd be fine if the shooting caps weren't so low this year for MyPlayers.

None of this would be a problem if they'd get rid of that ultra quick switch hands animation. It's quicker than an actual crossover. Zig-zagging was never a problem until these pace-altering animations were included in 2k15.

Nothing is sim about MyPark bruh. You can try to make it as Sim as possible and people will still cheese/make it an arcade game type even with the caps this year.

We often hear players talking about how they wanted to be a slightly more average version of the players they idolised growing up, and that's what motivated them!

When somebody can go 10/10 in MyPark or Pro-Am shooting exclusively mid-range jumpers with Aldridge's shooting animation, that's a problem. Not only is it unrealistic, as on page one you see that Curry only makes 50% of "Wide-open" 2-point jumpshots, it's just plain OP.

A layup or dunk is the highest percentage shot in basketball, period. The closer you are to the basketball the higher of a percentage your shot will go in. People are giving up wide open layups to shoot a mid-range jumper, because of the mid-range jumper's effectiveness right now.

That's not realistic. Now you can think to yourself "Play better D", but it's not even about that. It's about playing a simulation basketball game. And when someone is able to run pick and roll all day with a big man that has Brick Wall, it's literally unstoppable. You have people here playing The Stage and MyPark who have seen the same thing.

Taking a wide open 2-point jumpshot is a good shot yes, but in no way should you be allowed to make 90%+ of them. That's not realistic. That's arcade.
