Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
I am still consistent in my blocks post patch but I have noticed the player not putting their hands in good positioning any more, they will put their hands up and the ball will go right by it. my block is at 84, but come on, I shouldn't have to be a 90+ blocker to be hammering the contested lay ups into the stands like I used to. I am a 6'10" PF.Comment

Blocks are ridiculous!
What ARE you talking about?
You wanted blocking reduced just as 24 did and complained constantly in THIS very thread, and 24 was the one that started the thread questioning step back effectiveness, which you've also gone at length about. We got both in patch 3.
Seriously, what are you talking about?Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
And this is what I've been saying since I arrived in this thread:
I don't think 2k currently possesses the ability to 'balance' blocking. Think about it. The blocking, or lack thereof, goes one way or another every other year.
2k11, not enough blocking, ball goes through hands
2k12, too much blocking
2k13, not enough blocking, ball goes through hands, can't block dunks
2k14, too much blocking
2k15, not enough blocking, ball goes through hands, forcefields
2k16, too much blocking, patch: forcefields, players unaware of ball location
What do you suppose will happen next year, if the pattern holds true?Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
When the devs patched it I knew they still didn't fully understand what needed to be fixed with the blocking. They fixed exactly as I suspected, which was not allowing PG's to block dunks. However, I'll say it again. NOT EVERY BIG OR PLAYER IS A SHOT BLOCKER!!! (Not that hard to understand)Last edited by MadManCometh; 11-23-2015, 07:38 AM.Comment

Can't really agree with all of this....
2K11 balanced blocking pretty well, I've heard a couple of people consider it the most balanced it has been...
2K12 was the live ball debacle that "everyone wants, but doesn't REALLY want" lol. There wasn't so much too much blocking as face, elbow, forearms knocking the ball loose.
2K13/2K15 was blocking at its worst
2K14 was similar to 2K16 pre patch
2K16's post patch is actually pretty damn good- despite my above complaint...those chase downs by guys who guys who aren't supposed to be chasing down aren't happening, but you can still defend rim. I feel like there's a good balance.
I can't even comprehend why folks would want it nerfed at this point...Last edited by The 24th Letter; 11-23-2015, 07:58 AM.Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
The problem with the blocks Is everyone is a shot blocker. They tuned it a bit in patch 3, but as usual, the glass is half full. So instead of 100% of the players blocking, now just 75% can. Smh. Now instead of PG's blocking dunks, every player in the game 6'6 and up can still block dunks. Every big is still Mutombo. There's no timing involved at all. If ur beat, just switch to the nearest non-pg and u still have a great shot at a block, with very little worry of being called for an and-1 if u don't get the block. Even though u just hit turbo and went right at my player with a karate chop.

definitely agree. players with blocking badge and/or high block rating should exhibit blocking abilities. not everyone.
btw, i'm having modest success to avoid being block under the basket. mix it up with layup and dunks, reading where the defender is coming and using the appropriate hand to finish it.
