That's why it irks to death when people use that mode for examples of non sim elements.

AI players will attempt be Sim due to the programming. Human players are all about getting the win by any means possible.
first of all I don't even play the park; I"m talking about the single player career.

Second it's not true at all that everyone plays with the "win at all costs" mentality. I'd imagine most career players on this forum try and play with a sim style like anyone else

I've probably watched, played, and coached basketball longer than you've been alive. Try again.

Really? Well, I guess you haven't been playing online that long or watch a lot of YouTube videos.

Wrong. You have people who think they can force all elements of the real game into a video game, and those who understand there is give and pull in a video game. Your suggestions are to literally let the video game decide an outcome based on a numbers game. This allows the game to dictate an outcome FOR you, instead of you deciding the outcome.

Guess what happens? That's when the game can decide to let your body part pass right through the ball because your 'numbers weren't high enough', or because of your position vs the opponent's position. (Ex. Jordan's 99 dunk rating overrides your 90 shot blocking, so the ball goes through you in order to give the player the advantage) Then you'll be back here crying and saying 'OMG FIX BLOCKING BECAUSE I KEEP TRYING TO BLOCK SHOTS, BUT THE BALL KEEPS PASSING THROUGH MY ARM/BODY LIKE I'M NOT EVEN THERE!!!'

Rubio chase down block on Danny Green

It's rare, but it can happen. I think there is a small issue with players who are out of position being able to recover for blocks. I don't think it's a huge deal. Now if Rubio was getting 3, 4 blocks a game, meeting guys at the time, that'd be an issue.

There are sometimes when blocks are frustrating, they do need to take a look at it, but I like that defense matters more.

no, I don't play online at all actually. If it needs to be fair they can leave it how it is there. But for the single player experience user blocks are OP, it's that simple. No one can say it's "sim" that a guard with no blocking skills is rejecting multiple shots into the first row like prime Ewing every single game, consistently. It's almost comical

I've come to realize there are a lot of people on this site that don't play 2k the right way. lol.

But I've always taken a sim approach to mycareer/myplayer ever since it was introduced in The Combine DLC. Any mode in the game can be a sim experience if you play it that way. I think the perception that mycareer is a cheese mode is misguided.

My Career by itself no... My Park is mostly a cheese/hero mode. Everyone wants to be the next Jordan. I haven't played it this year yet, because I've been too busy with the other modes. I probably won't play it until I get my character to an 85 overall. I never max out my character, because I like the challenge it brings.

It seems that some ppl don't understand the difference between rare occasions vs the norm.

That's rare. Doesnt mean it should be happening 3×s a game.

And some people don't understand the concept of stop putting yourself in those rare occasions where it ends up becoming the norm.

To me this makes zero sense. The fact that a non-shot blocker is in the paint would entice me to go in there in dunk in the first place.
