To reflect how effective you are in each of those categories. Who has the lowest block\reaction\vertical rating on the game? Has he gone his actual career without a block? What's the point of positioning if we don't want it respected? Like I said originally, I'm all for unrealistic blocks being tuned...just don't think they are happening at as high of a rate as some are implying...

EDIT: I would hope you get blocks with Clint Capela, he's a talented shot blocker....

If you're honestly blocking people left and right with Alec Burks- more power to you-I can't

Well if that's the case, everyone should be "respected" on the outside because they can hit 3s as long as they are open, and feet set.

      Question, do u play online?

you seem to be going out of your way to list extremes, no one is implying they should be in-capable of every blocking a shot. Just exponentially less likely.

As i said blocking shots is a real skill. i can do the same things with Clint Capela that I can with Dwight. I can defend the rim with David Lee.

Most of the problems stem from how high people can jump, and the accuracy of the block attempt regardless of the rating.

honestly that was a bad example, i just dominated with him so it was fresh on my brain. I did dominate with Alex Burks tho. Flying around like prime D-Wade.

I do play online. If I was blocking shots consistently with Tony, Manu, Patty Mills like its being suggested here I'd have a better record though..lol

I don't know, maybe for lesser shot blockers the tracking should be decreased and translate into more fouls...it's definitely something the dev team could look at...just hope its looked at with caution.

I know kevin love is a big but should he really be swatting balls in the stands??? Last I check love wasn't much of a defender nor was he swatting balls all over the place.

I think the blocks are nice but needs to be tuned as non-shot blockers are blocking things they shouldnt.
I love the blocking improvments BUT i did pull off a Jose Calderon block on KOBE today at the peak of Kobe's jump non the less lol Blocking is heading in the right direction again it just NEEDS to be toned down or removed from guards that shouldn't be blocking shots like a boss.. ^_^

So you two mean to tell me with a straight face: "If the player has a low block rating, the ball should pass through them because my layup/dunk is high!"

Really? Really. Be for real. I don't care WHO it is, if they get the position and timing right, and you expose the ball, that **** should be killed.

                      Re: Blocks are ridiculous!

The only real frustration for me is the logic on many layups and dunks. Not really a problem with the blocks themselves.

If I hit a cutter with a small window to finish or am attacking the rim with a skilled finisher, he should have some urgency or situational awareness. 2K still needs to work on triggering quick and crafty animations. Changing a shot/finish in air will work some of the time but could be strengthened IMO.

For example, a lot of times I'll get a blow-by with Kyrie Irving in online H2H, but I'm getting blocked 100% of the time by a help defender even though I'm aware of him coming probably before my opponent. A huge part of a guy like Irving's game are his crafty layups and ability to finish around bigs. And yes, I'm aware of the floater -- floater animations and success rates are WORSE than 2K15 -- it was a poor choice to make that hideous slow runner-shot animation the default floater in 2K16 rather than a Parkersque teardrop.

The ratings should matter. Call more fouls on low rated players who block shots and this would help the problem. Its unrealistic to have as many chase down blocks as i see in this game. Additionally, alot of the shot blocking involves player clipping and rim clipping in this game. Those should be fouls or goal tends. The game allows players to go right thru the offensive players body or thru the rim to block a shot.

And that's the argument, it ABSOLUTELY matters who it is. If this is the case, I guess it don't matters whos left open and every shot is money

I think the ratings should dictate this more than anything. It seems that vertical, speed and block ratings should be re-marginalized across the board. Maybe tone down the ratings severely for people who are not equipped to block shots and leave the ratings as is for people that are known for it. That way it can be tied to ratings instead of the 2k devs going in and possibly over correcting something in a knee jerk reaction patch.

Yeah I just had Valuncuinas stuff 5 of my shots back down my throat.

I even went in with the floater and he sent that soft **** out of there

Ok, im a online player and one of my biggest issues with the blocks is this; I'm beating guys or breaking down the defense for open lanes. As a result, the other online user is just switching to the nearest defender to recover and try to stop the easy layup or dunk. Often times they are just so happening switching onto a guard or non-shot blocker, and jumping wildly and getting blocks. IMO, the game is rewarding beaten defenses in a unrealistic manner. I feel like if I have beaten or broken down the defense, and the user is just switching to the nearest defender and pressing the block button then that's not sim or realistic. People is switching to guards and just hitting the block button and getting away with it. When In reality, they probably should be penalize more for and 1s for bad defense.
