Re: 2K16 has totally killed contested shooting

It's a fine art to balance... you want ratings and ability to go both ways. You want wingspan and measure to matter.

We cannot afford to only have offense favored by this. I understand you're not asking for a mile: but sometimes that's what you gain and it can be game-breaking.

*In my experience, I do see contest shots going in and would prefer to keep their rates as is - it feels realistic. I originally wanted a boost to the defense but I'm now swayed to believe this is realistic that some games a player can get lucky regardless of ratings or with help from his profile as a premier scorer.

They call him videogame Curry but he's in a league of his own with contest shot success.

I can't ask to see what kind of moves he's pulling ? That means I don't play the game much ? I said I was unaware of the problem ?

      Ok you got it

I'm pretty sure even Devs have asked for videos of complaints .

I agree with the OP, but also not sure there is a good way to make the game fair without setting up certain ways to counter cheesy gameplay, I hate the fact that every second i hold on to the ball my shooting percentage does down, but it is there to deal with the zig zag cheese.

I find it grave hyperbole to say "never"...

As an offline user, this game can become the dream you awaken too. Watch those slider threads for tips on how to manage your game experience.

          A couple tips from me:

          (1) Increase Offensive Awareness and Offensive Consistency - Consistency affects your get hot / cold rates.

          (2) Decrease the Defensive Strength sliders for Contest Shot - feel free to decrease all in this category but start with decreasing the ones that affect jump shot release and jump shot gather.

I do like the points made regarding that getting hot should increase your contest shot success on offense but let's achieve balance so that hot defenders also get a boost with their contest shot success.

*For us Online Users, we are dealing with some neccessary evils until we cab strike a fair and respectable balance.

Bruh you got to dumb it down. That's too much science.

He's what you call a selective reader. The info was given out by Mike himself but just straight up ignored it. Best not to respond and move along.

I disagree with the OP. We don't need them increasing the success of contested shots otherwise people will be chucking up garbage and getting rewarded.

However, i do think they should tone down the contested jumpshot animation. It triggers even if someone is behind you...

                  Oh look. Another hyperbolic thread.

Also love that people can't say 'xbox record that' or hitting a share button to make a video showing these hyperbolic claims.

Serious question, why is it such a bad thing to ask for video proof though? You get on people for that but you're ALWAYS complaining about this same "broken game"(your words)in every single one of your posts/threads about issues that aren't benefitting you.

You make it seem like the folks that ask for it(regardless of what the issue is)are dummies for asking for it because they don't have the eye to see every single thing wrong with this game like you do?

Re: 2K16 has totally killed contested shooting

                      Are you guys serious

I just hit a buzzer beater drifting three between two players with Demar Derozan in an Online Ranked match.

I have had a player hit a three in my face with Caron Butler.

The reason why Curry ain't hitting contested shots while yall play with him because he's too small to shoot over people and you gotta use the hop gathers to get height on his jumpshot because his release is low.

So yeah, practice getting separation first. And do you know who is guarding you, if you are playing against players with Perimeter Lockdown Defender you not gonna be getting too many contested shots going in.

Coming from an offline only 2K player, I have to disagree with the OP. I have hit many contested shots, with a variety of players. I hit many three pointers with Brandon Jennings (before the injury rosters), KCP, and Ilyasova. I have also had the CPU do the same thing to me.

If I have a good shooter shooting, the ball will go in more often than not. Simple as that. Defenders definitely affect the shot, but I have made plenty of contested jumpers.

Well I know I always ask for video proof because people tend to over-exaggerate things they are seeing.

When it comes to how OFTEN things are happening that they claim.
When it comes to how open they are.

So it is needed because most of the time people don't even have baseline data but are complaining and/or asking for % Tweeks from the Devs.
                          Concrete evidence/videos please

Dude I read the topic and immediately knew EXACTLY the issue he was talking about. No vid needed for me. IF u play the game a lot of issues are actually quite obvious IMO.

Everybody knows the difficulty with stepback jumpers and shots of that nature. For u to act like u need a video of this is borderline hilarious.

Honestly, it's more hilarious that you can't show us first hand what you're experiencing....you can literally hit share and get a video uploaded quicker than writing most of these paragraphs in your posts...and the defense for not doing this is...."you haven't played the game enough if you don't agree"

Anyway, a lot of this is being addressed indirectly by the patch. The unnecessary contested shot animations are being addressed, so that should help with face ups, and as Sun said, step backs are also being improved. I think both those will help a lot....IMO we don't need an arbitrary raise in %'s....

Curry is the most underpowered player in 2k in comparison to real life.
