There is huge BUG in 2k16...basically Double Teams options are by default MANUAL while you've to set them to AUTO to actually have CPU playing real defense. Since people reported that the fix is working I opened a new thread and I will report to Czar and Mike Wang to have them fix it ASAP

I'd like you to post youe experince with this fix....for me is a game changer....

We can set it in AUTO just go to full team page! That page was not in 2k15..maybe they just forgot to put default value to AUTO!




Bro what a difference! They started to double Team Melo all the way (hard double teams) + help defense!

CPU Defense is totally a different stuff you put it on AUTO...

So is this supposed to be a BUG?

I was playing on Rookie level and I started to kill CPU with Melo....they started to double team me! Post and perimeter!

So please just switch controller before game and in defensive game plan for CPU select AUTO for double teams....

I was Cleveland vs Knicks......Lebron and Irving got hot....they doubled them both!

This is how CPU defense is supposed to be.......they also doubled Varejao on mismatches!

BTW First play of the second half...they doubled Lebron on first possession!!!

I also DIG deep inside POE......

Try to set POE and ingame set it to manual......you we'll see that getting to the CPU paint will become really hard....the problem is that 2K didn't put POE for every NBA Team...

I think we need list of NBA teams defense style....

wouldn't this cause you not to get VC? Also what problems come up with you doing this? is the CPU now always doubling instead of playing man to man and leaving their man wide open? how is the user passing out of the double since if you double the CPU they still throw accurate passes 95% of the time out of a double.

Yes about the VC
No about everything else...will not double you all the time he will double you depending on game plan or if a player get really hot...

care less abt the vc. it really worked well for me. first time having multiple double teams after a long while. cpu will throw different players to double. gotta read and react and choose the shots wisely. sometimes i'll kick it back to KD and no double team happens. i also notice it doesnt necessary for KD to get hot. he receives the pass at the high post at the start of the game and immediately got doubled.

played two consecutive games and my okc KD almost got triple double. my outside shot attempts increased too. will post some stats later.

on myleague, vs cpu on simulation sliders superstars 10-min quarter.

I also don't care about VC....but hey I think they fix this with a patch at this point (maybe patch 3 has already this fix in)

well hopefully this gets fixed in next update because many of us care about VC since we don't pay for it, and playing the game is the only way to get VC to buy to buy packs and build your Myplayer.

It definitely works, but I'm now slapping the AI by taking advantage of the open man. Dunks and wide open mid range shots.

As long as you don't try to pass too far you should be alright escaping the double team. One pass, swing, swing, swing, swish.

as far as "vc" goes: If you play myleague with all 30 teams (and 29 all tasks to auto), you can edit the gameplans for all teams before the game starts.

And like Mauro said, with it on auto the cpu basically does what it is supposed to.

Another stuff I come into: try to put CPU Coach Settings to AUTO....I edit Phoenix POE to protect the paint....well first possession of the game they doubled Melo in the post ^_^

some additional observations.

earlier i reportedly cp3 kept guarding kd. after i switched to lac and went to matchups, cp3 was already "hardcoded" to guard kd. i changed to "auto". i switched back and played, realised cp3 was still guarding kd. feeling annoyed, switched back and make all lac starting 5 matchup with okc starting 5. it worked briefly. when cpu sub players and lineup changed, somehow cp3 would end up guarding kd. had to switch again to adjust matchups.

irritating.

note, changing ai coach adjustment to manual cannot undone this.

second observation was kd passing out of double team would led to turnovers. so kicking out wouldnt work all the time.

This picture says all: Ronnie Price was closed by Lopez so he was forced to pass out to Teletevic....all I know 3 my Knicks were here to protect the Rim!

Game was....beautiful

First half I decided to protect the paint and PHO was all about getting mid range and 3pt shooting...it was very hard for them getting the paint.....second half I decided to limit 3pt shooting becouse they hit me few times in the first.....really bad choiche...

On the second half Bledsoe started to get into the Area and Len posted a lot of point into the paint. Game was close 4-5 margin but I had at least two chances to close it...I miss

Melo had 21 first half points but "only" 12 second half...defense was all over him....

And yes for VC for those that want to keep VC, you basically need two controllers. At the start/pick jesrey screen put the other controller to the opposite team. Now when the game starts edit the other team as you wish, then take the controller off of human and back to cpu.

This way you can edit and keep VC with your other user/controller. This should work to keep VC.
