No he can dunk but not like a slam dunk champion. If its that what you want then go for the slasher. Simple..Comment

Re: Formatted List of Attributes and Cards as seen in "Prelude" trailer
Good job organizing this information. I like the idea of this as I liked how the play styles worked back in 2k14 and earlier. I am looking forward to seeing what the actual attribute caps are this year. I play offline only so I am hoping for less restrictive caps than last year. At least let average height point guards have speed in the 90s. I get wanting to restrict cheese, but at a certain point that falls on gameplay and individual players. Caps seem like a band-aid to me to an extent. As long as there is balance between positions I would think that would be enough. But then again, I don't play online. I have in other games, but not 2k.Comment

Re: Formatted List of Attributes and Cards as seen in "Prelude" trailer
I've been waiting for the day where you won't be able to do it all. I love the fact for online purposes only that every position you should be limited to being good at either shooting or dunking. Hope this isn't just for small fowards and for all position. It has been annoying to see people shoot like Curry and dunk like VC in his prime. You are also potentially limiting our badges so we can only have certain ones. or we can only upgrade certain badges. I love that idea also it will make things more balance. I mean I know a lot of people who play Park will be a Sharpshooter but hopefully the shot off dribble will be low enough they can't dribble for days and throw up a three and hit.#FreeMikeGSW

As a slashing PG, I can suck the D in by being a huge threat inside. Shooting will be horrible but I am a pass first kind of guy. So maybe I should be a point forward? Balanced but won't excell anywhere except passing. Only will have passing badges too. God this is so hard. And sharpshooters will mainly be roleplayers as they have a horrible shoot off dribble, so I like that. My choice will be decided on whether or not 2k17 continues to have magnetic D. If so I'll just have to be a sharpshooting SGLast edited by Sleepy59; 08-27-2016, 11:39 AM.Comment

Re: Formatted List of Attributes and Cards as seen in "Prelude" trailer
I noticed that their is now a Hustler Rebounder Badge and a Putback King badge. In the past they had offensive rebounder, defensive rebounder, and the hustle points badge. It seems like putback king is the new name for hustle points. I liked having seperate badges for offensive rebounding and defensive rebounding so I hope they didn't group those together into one badge. Cause a guy like Kevin Garnett cleans up the defensive glass and rarely goes after offensive rebounds. Hopefully we'll learn soon enough.Comment

Re: Formatted List of Attributes and Cards as seen in "Prelude" trailer
I'm with you on that. So this is essentially a starter pack of badges for each play style. I like that, that I don't need to grind for my "essential" badges. It actually creates a play style
Example why give a Sharpshooter dimer and a Point Forward Catch & Shoot when it doesn't fit their archetype. The badges elevate your play style so you actually feel like the player you're trying to become. Certain badges are pointless on certain players
Shot Creator with Shot Creator or "Difficult Shots" makes sense, so does Sharpshooter with Deadeye and Limitless.
Koo koo, I'm still wondering if we can acquire additional badges or if these 5 are the only upgradeable badges and the rest remain bronze.

Re: Formatted List of Attributes and Cards as seen in "Prelude" trailer
I would actually really enjoy if they really stuck to the RPG playstyles - in the sense that just like in an mmo you have damage dealers/tanks/healers etc - they are all separate and specialized. To play like them you have to become them aka make one. In other words - it would be awesome if the game made you make several MP instead of giving us a superior build that everyone uses because it's better. Actual individuality would be awesome - and in reality there are very few players throughout history who can do everything efficiently - they generally have a weakness - MJ 3pt. I honestly think is just bull**** to be a 99 online. I rather everyone has a weakness and because of that they have to depend on teammates - the whole 99 bs creates wannabe ballhogs that ruin the game for many. I've never liked stats giving people a major advantage - a better team of specialized players should be the advantage.Last edited by Leasim96; 08-27-2016, 02:14 PM.Comment

I agree with your point but Dame Lilliard did it 2-3 years ago I believe

Re: Formatted List of Attributes and Cards as seen in "Prelude" trailer
Cautiously optimistic about this system.
Like PatsCards87 mentioned, it all depends on what the numerical rating (25-99) is for the bars.
In 2k16, a small forward with a maxed out 20 bars in playmaking had ball control in the 60s. IN THE 60s. With maxed out athleticism, speed was in the high 60s to low 70s.
If that's the case for say, slasher sf in 2k17, where an investment of 25 bars for agility means speed in the 60s,70s, and layups/dunks maxed means layup 83, we've got a problem here.
But, and I am hoping 2k got this right, 25 bars for agility means speed 94, 99, and layups/dunks maxed means 94, 99, then I am all in, because then the slasher playstyle (or any playstyle really) has serious strengths and serious weaknesses.
Slasher's key strengths would be blinding speed and amazing finishing ability, especially in comparison to other SF's in the game (Lebron, I believe, has a speed in the 80s in 2k16). Key weaknesses would be no 3 pointer, weak post scoring, and average defense. And I think that's fair, and would make the mode more like an rpg, where a character such as a dps excels at dealing damage but is weak in taking damage.
On the other hand, if the system is like 2k16, where maxed out bars only lead to attributes in the 70s, well then. But I'm cautiously optimistic for now.
TLDR: Hyped about attribute caps, but only if maxed out bars is in the 90, 95 range.Comment

Re: Formatted List of Attributes and Cards as seen in "Prelude" trailer
Yeah, I don't like the concept of 99 ovr MPs online. I'm not against anyone wanting to be good at the park or get buckets in Pro AM but people lose sight of the fact that it's a team game when trying to create the LBJ and KD type players. Playing with randoms is dreadful because people think they can takeover at anytime or hit any shot.I would actually really enjoy if they really stuck to the RPG playstyles - in the sense that just like in an mmo you have damage dealers/tanks/healers etc - they are all separate and specialized.
