I quote myself to confirm that my offensive consistency is at 40. And you can only make it higher by doing that stupid dribbling drill. So now offensive consistency depends solely on dribbling? Wow. I knew this year's MyCareer was such a grind, bigger than ever, but this is just abusive and pathetic. No wonder I'm having so many problems on jumpshots; last patch and tuning making it harder to shoot plus low offensive consistency despite our player supposedly being the next big thing. I think NBA2k might not be first-day purchase next year...

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread

I'm happy to say that the new Lob City is in Detroit! Lol

I created a 6'10 Athletic Finisher and paired him with Andre Drummond via trade with the Pelicans first chance I could. Nothing against AD, but the rest of that squad is putrid. At least on the pistons they have a ton of young talent, especially KCP. That man is deadly if you know where to hit him.

I have a ton of screens and videos I plan to upload about just how dominant this team is. We blow out the CPU on the offensive glass 2-1 regularly and 3-1 sometimes 4-1 sparingly. It's crazy to look at the score, see I'm up by 30 and look at the stats and see it's all being done the right way. 20 or 30 advantage in rebounds is routine. Defensive glass is not an issue ever, and offensive glass is only a problem against elite rebounding teams. I'm talking heaps of fast break points, second chance points, points in the paint, points of turnovers, everything is top of the league.

The best thing about playing at pf instead of the 3 on this team (something I thought about before I made this guy) is when they double with the other big in the high post or even if I'm on the low block, if Drummond is in position, it's dunk city. I'm talking nasty throw downs since I'm so tall I put the ball high up in the air and Drummond just crushes souls.

Then with justice running the pick and roll when I have OJ activated I can literally alternate between my character or Drummond on the pick and roll and just eat all day long on any difficulty. I don't have HOF pick and roller yet but I have HOF finisher and posterizer. So even if it's not an oop, I can flashy pass with justice and my guy will raise up on anyone

Really fun build. Great team. Really recommend this team for anyone running the 4. I can't even imagine a stretch big creating so much space for Drummond. The only problem is I do tend to crowd the paint and hurt his scoring quite a bit. There really is something to be said about playing on turbo cam so your back is to the basket on defense and being able to watch the floor from the weak side on defense consistently since most dominant biga run the 5 now and being able to have the speed and agility to really make a difference against the CPU cheese on higher difficulties.

As stated, will update with videos.

Anybody else a pg on the sixers? Ben Simmons often takes unnecessary contested jumpers for me even though he's not a shooter. His best games he's attacking a creating plays out of the post and PnR up top. I'm just trying to get him some consistency before the first playoff game s Detroit as I want to make a deep run and want to get the most out of my teammates. Everybody else plays fine it's just a matter of how many touches they get. All advice is appreciated.

I just kept setting screens and immediately cutting even if contact isn't made. Justice is the only guard I've played with that will consistently look for the big play on the cut, sometimes to our detriment. Lol

When OJ is activated just switch to justice and start calling for yourself to run a pick. On 12 minute quarters this can be gotten in 1 or 2 games after you've both started starting. Remember that if the oop isn't there, the lane still is a majority of the time, so a good flashy passer is better if you already have HOF Lob City finisher.

I have several guards and most forwards play the same, no matter who they are. It really frustrated me playing with melo, who can actually hit the step back but refused to go to the paint, even on transition.

For your forwards, I've played with Dirk a lot, Harrison Barnes also, and melo, who all have step backs and great outside game, you HAVE to force feed them to get them to play like themselves. Essentially, they usually average about 15-20 touches. You gotta pump that to 20-30 for them to do anything serious.

Question: how long after you get traded can you request another trade? When I try it just says it can't be done at this time.

                        Hmmm [emoji848] good question.

I might try hopping around teams a bit and see. Man, MyPLAYER becomes a savior to other teams and increase wins. Once winning, go to other teams again.

But let me try I'll let you know.

Getting my playmaker PG traded from the Raptors to the Hawks (without Justice) isn't nearly as fun as I thought it would be so far. Maybe I need to get the chemistry up or something but this team doesn't even feel like it plays like the real Atlanta Hawks. I never saw these issues in my C career. Sure there'd be ridiculous shots but my teammates would be able to actually make them. This team is brick city for whatever reason, though I haven't played a lot with the starters.

Last year when I played for the Rockets, I would feed Dwight down low in the post and he'd be a force. This year, I get that half the time while other times he'll take a ridiculous fadeaway away from the basket out of the post. I'm feeling like turning 2K16 back on where the players actually play like their real life counterparts for the most part.

2K was *WAY* too nice to the 76ers this year, at least in the my career rookie season.. they're 13-16 in my career.. my SF's on the Suns and they're also 13-16.. so I guess they're even ..

I think cold stops at around 32-35% but that is not correct for me. I have one zone that is 36% and light red on the shot chart yet the circle under my player shows this zone as blue and I can't really hit anything from there.

I get the cold/hot zones for real players but for a game this factors in too much. This is the first year I had problems shooting in the beginning so I never noticed how much the cold zones mess up your shot until now. Even with a "perfect" release, it won't go in for the most part. Now that I have experienced this mechanic I absolutely hate it! This has nothing to do with skill or anything. It's just another way to screw you over with. It's basically you having enabled "real shot %" instead of release. Especially since you only can turn those zones red again while playing matches on Rookie (because on SS/HoF difficulty you won't hit anything from there making it even worse). The practice mode should be for those kind of things since you can walk up to a spot and "practice your shot" from there.

May be placebo, but I definitely feel after a trade there is a rough patch almost every single time. Also, it's a new system and playbook. Even if you're the best player in the world, running the same plays over and over will help you make better reads.
That is.. until the defense starts doubling then it's turnover city with a splash of brick central.
