Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
This type of mode is something I've never played but after deleting all of my sports game saves I decided to give it a try. I REALLY like the story aspect. I'm not great at the game itself but I'll keep playing it. Audwin Bennett (my 1st name and my son's 1st name) is a 55 OVR PG who was drafted by BOS at #23. LolF-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! 50 game speed. I'm using Rudy Gay jumper on default since 2k15 but I have tried to adjust the speed and used other ones. I'm usually not a fan of" max release speed". I can hit greens from inside without problems but as soon as I step beyond the 3 point line I only get all white shot meter and it says "slightly early" even though the shot meter is full. I'm using the button though. Had no issues in previous 2k's.
I'm starting to thing 79 standing 3 is too low to hit with consistency on open shots this year.
Edit: I was shooting for around 40-45% from 3 before 1.05 and the additional tuning update.Last edited by meccs; 11-19-2016, 09:40 AM.Comment

So I was curious to see if you won a championship in mycareer if the gold patch on the back of teams jerseys would update the number of championships on it. Turns out it just disappears.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
Hey guys, I want to new a new player since I've been a little frustrated with my playmaking PG lately, due to last patch and tuning updates. And I usually make a 2nd player just to fresh things up a little bit.
I want to make a 7'0, 250 lbs center, since that's what I always use as 2nd player, and I'm torn between Glass Cleaner and Paint Protector, because I want it to be more defensive minded. When it comes to attributes, I prefer Paint Protector (max defense and agility, average rebounding) over Glass Cleaner (max rebounding, average athleticism and defense); I like the GC badges a bit more, though.
I will gladly accept other suggestions as well, but I will likely only play MyCareer and not Park and/or Proam. And if not for this one, I might take notes for futures new players if I ever get bored of both my PG and C.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
Just got my (6'6 SF) Suns (not mine, but my player's) into the 8th spot in the West.. only 31 games into the season .. up to 14th power ranking after a 20+ win over Houston..
Toughest part of the game continues to be bogus turnovers that attempt to keep the game close.. so many pick & roll's with Justice end up with him throwing the ball into the chest of the guy I screened, even if I call for an ally-oop instead.. the turnovers forced on MY player I'm used to, of course.. averaging 5 of them a gameView Through My Lens sports photography

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
Left this out of my last post....
Lockdown Defender PG - Audwin Bennett, 6'1", 225 LBS, Michigan State, #23 (1st Rnd) to the Celtics
Through 2 games coming off the bench in limited minutes I have 2 PTS, 4 AST, STL, TO
Coming from years of playing CPU vs. CPU and Coach Mode I'm definitely experiencing some growing pains but I REALLY like this mode.Last edited by NoleFan; 11-19-2016, 04:30 PM.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo!Comment

You definitely seem to be bottlenecked by the shot tuning update. You're also playing on Superstar / HOF? That would further negate you're success because those difficulties lower your success chances for all types of shots.
You're on default game speed and using a money jumper. If you were on higher speeds and using a custom jumper: I would have suggested lowering both game speed and shot timing speed. I'm interpreting your experience being related to a shot meter type glitch.
Wouldn't the feedback always say "slight" if you're just shy of a green?

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
So out of nothing this is basically my current MyCareer experience now every game:
This is on Superstar in MyCareer. I just had this game (I'm on the Hawks):
My team was shooting for less than 30%. Basically no rebounds from them. I was shooting for ~50% so this did only effect my teammates. I also did 4/10 from 3. In all the 2K games, I have never witnessed something like this. Whenever would give the ball out of my hands it was turnover or brick. It felt completely broken.Comment

Should one be using a higher difficulty level for the VC multiplier? I like that Pro (I think) has a 1.0 multiplier which, to me, means I get what the game thinks I earned for my efforts.
Seems to reward you more for less on higher difficulty (only tried All Star) too. An example would be a practice I had where I lost drills etc yet still filled the "Doin work" bar. On Pro I'd win and not fill it. In game, good things boosted my grade and bad things dropped it. On All Star I didn't seem to be penalized as much for bad things like shot selection and turnovers.
Am I wrong?

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
On Hall of Fame i get around 1200vc - 1400 vc each game
After winning the title with the Pelicans i had a decision to made stay with the Pelicans or go to another team.
I signed a 3 year contract with the Warriors :-) Curry Thompson Durant Green and me as Center haha Durant left the Warriors for Minnesota okay the other 3 guys are also good to play with but most time i played with the bench guys and when Curry and Thompson were on the floor the Splash Brothers was the TRASH Brothers missing alot of wide open shots and so on many turnovers from Curry to
After 10 Games i requested a trade back to the Pelicans, i like the Pelicans really and i like there court design and so on, after 3 days i recieved a message that the trade has been successfull :-)
In 2K 16 i played with the Warriors and when i played with the Yellow THE CITY Jerseys the home court also had the THE CITY Logo on it but not in 2k 17 it stays the sameComment

Re: Official NBA 2K17 MyCareer Thread
Not sure how much longer I will play this. I had to switch back to All-Star. My team is shooting ~36% on Superstar now. It's the usual 2K16 stuff like brick city, not going for rebounds, getting fouled on every play when the ball is in the paint and missing free-throws while the CPU gets And-Ons all the time (my teammates do the fouling). Most of all the notorious "fighting back to even the game and then getting on the bench and you're behind by 10 points". If I don't initiate the play they will most likely dribble the ball into the paint and get stripped or brick a senseless mid-range shot.
Not sure if the team chemistry is still too low but it is painful to watch. To the point it's almost comedy basketball where every play could be on Shaqtin' A Fool. I simply don't want to go for 50/25/15 every game because my team can't do anything.
Things don't really feel fluent to me at all. Non icon passing feels like a gamble with who it's going to throw it too even when you aim it towards where you want it to go leading to a lot of turnovers. Sometimes it'll even pass to the opposite side of the court when you're aiming at the man that's cutting down the middle. Feels like Dwight or Millsap are in foul trouble alternating in every single game due to the constant fouls called down low like you mentioned. It feels like I'm ten times better driving in barely having my layup and dunk upgraded compared to open mid ranges and three pointers. Freelances are way worse than they were last year because the clock will run down waiting for someone to do an action or worse, they'll dribble it out of bounds for no reason.
The sad part is...I enjoy it when it's at it's best. Those close games where you impact it and get into a deep finishing stretch. When plays actually work and you see flashes of what could be but it feels like there just isn't enough of that this year. I usually stayed with an 80-82 overall player in the past 2K's in order to not be too good and be realistic but my guy is an 87 because I feel like his defense was terrible and he couldn't shoot (especially without shoot off the dribble uograded a little). I feel like my 87 is about what an 83-84 last year would be with what he can do. 70's for off dribble shots, 60-70's for layups and dunks, 70's for threes, 80 for mid range, 80's for playmaking, 70's for defense and default everything else. Despite the overall, this player is a roleplayer in every sense of the word.Last edited by Inzombniac; 11-20-2016, 08:20 AM.Comment
