I absolutely love how fluid the cpu is when going from pass to shot. The shooter is set, he catches and fires it up no hesitation. The flhity is def standing out right now.

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
1 other thing Im loving is all the fouls, and turnovers. You better make the right pass now in the lane because there is no more of going thru the defense players hands and to your guy or vie versa.
Do need to see more offball fouls, but its improved. Im sure there will be whiny online fans who have no clue about real basketball saying to many fouls, and all these stupid turnovers, the game is trash, lol. PLEASE do not listen to these fools this time, this is the closest youve came to the real life gameplay.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
I kept reading how this game looked better than 2k16..I'm not seeing it. Maybe the lighting but these have to overall be the worst player models of this console generation. Which is a shame coming off how good most looked last yearComment

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Just played my first two games. First Hawks Vs. Celtics on Pro, quit after the first half because it was too easy.
Then I just finished playing as the Bucks against the Kings on All-Star, won 106-98. It was a struggle early in the first, but once I got started going to the hoop I had em. Started with a crazy lineup of Giannis, Middleton, Parker, Thon Maker and Monroe.
Maker finished with 31 pts, 10 reb, 6 ast, 3 stl, 2 blk on 9/18 shooting. Monroe had 19 and 18 and Jason Terry had 11 points and 12 ast off the bench. May have to try Superstar, especially since in past 2K games I struggle a bit just on All-Star.
Had alot of fun overall. Feels like I have more control over the players and I love the rebounding. I'm not sure how I feel about the new shooting mechanics yet, might be a bit easy.Last edited by Mister_G; 09-16-2016, 09:10 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Originally posted by Lakers 24 716 was a huge upgrade over 15, so 17 will obviously feel a lot different compared to 15. However, from 16 to 17, I agree this is the first time ever that I feel a 2k game at its core feels the same as the last version.
That being said though, I think we're to the point where radical changes aren't needed. I'm not sure what more they can do or drastically change.
Madden felt a lot different this year because last year's iteration was absolute trash. 2k no longer has that type of room for growth anymore given how good it already is.

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
This game is way too easy even with sliders. I'm blowing out CPU on Superstar with no problems at all. Overall, this game has been a disappointment. I'm not talking about additions to Myleague/MyGM or whatever, just graphics and gameplay.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Iso defending I feel like I have absolutely no chance of staying with my guy. Especially off the dribble. Iso ballhandling is quite possibly the worst 2K experience I have have encountered. I have not beat a single defender off the dribble yet. If I get close with the aide of a pick he somehow magically catches up to me and gets right in front of me causing me to pick up my dribble. I really think defenders are just plain faster no matter who they are or who they are defending. Clipping and sliding is still an issue, but much less so.
I find it too physical on the perimeter. I always do, but defenders being mind readers and 20% faster than me really kills immersion for me.
Last year I buy this title. I've been disappointed for 3 years in a row and until they fix ballhandler/defender physicality I just can't play it.
On a positive note, there were a fair amount of blocking fouls called, which I loved. The way guys slam into each other would be blocking each and every single play. This year I have seen more good blocking calls on the perimeter in just 6 games than I have in my history of playing 2K which helps me justify my statement (that a lot of people disagree with) that perimeter play in 2K is absurdly physical and grossly unrealistic.
I hope everyone is having a blast and has a great year with 2K.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Defense outside of blocks and steals is terrible. Guys still getting lost for no real reason. On ball D is also awful. Omer Asik beat me on the drive from the outside... No further explanation needed, There is little to no defense in this game. That is truly sad because other than that the game is amazing.
Actually if you put the defensive assist strength up to 100, it helps the on ball D a lot.Last edited by Dione2014; 09-16-2016, 10:03 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
The crowd is so bad it's pissing me off.
Seriously 2k needs to answer now to these hype videos about the arena authenticity... there's NOTHING authentic about it. Just a monopoly ripping off the public with fhekr trash ports.

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Better but still not there and sold it earlier today.
No question the art department had a rough year with some incredibly strange body types and an inexcusable difficulty in creating certain hairstyles. It has been an issue for a long time and other games have not had this big of a problem. I don't get it and the chia pet look needs to be addressed. The shooting styles are also inconsistent. Klay Thompson will look fantastic and the next guy you see has a shot style that looks nothing like his real life counterpart. Crowds also need to be addressed.
From a gameplay standpoint, rebounding feels fixed finally. Players also have a nice weight to them.
The main issues that are gamebreaking (for me) are the passing (still too floaty and too many overhead passses), not a big of enough and realistic difference in speed between players, and offensive ai on fast breaks is just all off. In regards to fast breaks, guys don't fill in the lanes and/or spot up realistically. It is just a cluster similar to middle school basketball.
Best 2K ever made but still some things that need to be addressed to make it worth investing hours into the game.Comment
