Re: what happened to dribbling?
Read the advanced controls and go into practice and turn off shot clock or play blacktop 1 on 1 and practice. The rhythm dribble replaced all the auto size up animations. If you need more help refer to YouTube.

I guess nobody else uses these running moves besides you and me because I haven't seen this issue being talked about very much in the community even though it impacts every single offensive possession for me as a playmaking point guard.Last edited by jyoung; 10-05-2016, 02:14 PM.Comment

Have you tried the relative camera?Comment

Re: what happened to dribbling?
Could anyone tell me which dribble move would trigger off dribble shooting?
My question might sound weird but by looking at the shooting bar of my shot creator SG with 90+ shooting off dribble and ~70+ mid/3 range, the only time the shooting bar extends, i.e. shooting off dribble kicks in, is when I shoot while moving and I does not have to make any dribble to make it works. If the last action I do right before shooting is not moving using left stick then it would never trigger.
It seems more like shooting off running than off dribble to me.Comment

Re: what happened to dribbling?
Yeah that was the first thing I tried to see if it was any different, but unfortunately, the button inputs for the running dribble combos are still reversed, regardless of whether your joystick controls are set to absolute or relative commands.Comment

Re: what happened to dribbling?
so this is why my double crossover drive never works..i figured they just took the dribble move out of the animations despite it still being a tendency.
thats really grossComment

If it isn't fixed, you'll get used to the new input pretty quickly.Comment

Re: what happened to dribbling?
After doing some more testing, it looks like most of the running dribble combos in the game have backward button commands for some reason this year.
If you imagine that your right joystick is a clock, then the commands in 2K17 are:
running double crossover = 3, 3 or 9, 9
running double between the legs = 7, 7 or 5, 5
running between the legs into crossover = 5, 3 or 7, 9
This feels completely unnatural and makes no sense when you consider that the stationary combos have the same normal input commands that they did last year:
stationary double crossover = 3, 9 or 9, 3
stationary double between the legs = 7, 5 or 5, 7
stationary between the legs into crossover = = 5, 9 or 7, 3
Surely this is a bug and not an intentional change to the game?
The button commands feel even more messed up once you get into triple and quadruple dribble moves, because starting with the third dribble in a running combo, the commands stop being backward and become natural again:
running quadruple crossover = 9, 9, 3, 9 or 3, 3, 9, 3
running quadruple between the legs = 7, 7, 5, 7 or 5, 5, 7, 5
Hopefully this can be fixed, because the button inputs should be the same while running as they are while stationary:
stationary quadruple crossover = 9, 3, 9, 3 or 3, 9, 3, 9
stationary quadruple between the legs = 7, 5, 7, 5 or 5, 7, 5, 7
This is all on the 2K camera with the "absolute" joystick controls turned on.
I will keep bumping this thread until this bug is fixed.Comment

Re: what happened to dribbling?
This is just a thought but im gonna try this..change the right stick to just dribble moves n shoot with the button..i watched a video on youtube form agent 00 sayin how there is a slight delay for your shot stick shot because its used for dribble and shooting. So im thinkin if its a delay for shootin it gotta be a delay for dribbling. Just a thought i was havin while i smoke a dubie..

Has Mike or anyone at 2K acknowledged the dribbling input problems???Comment

Re: what happened to dribbling?
I've just stopped doing all of the running double/triple/quadruple dribble combos this year because I don't want to have to relearn the controls once they are inevitably returned to normal. Instead I am relying on chaining together different single move animations while bringing the ball up the court.
I guess nobody else uses these running moves besides you and me because I haven't seen this issue being talked about very much in the community even though it impacts every single offensive possession for me as a playmaking point guard.
When you can't really get much explosiveness off the dribble with elite ball handlers who have high acceleration, manual PnR gets a lot of use to collapse the D and kick out to shooters.Comment

Re: what happened to dribbling?
Probably a lot of people are dialing back even attempting these moves because of how CPU defense is mirroring a lot of your inputs before your animation plays out, and then bumping you to force a pulled up a dribble.Last edited by jyoung; 10-16-2016, 04:31 PM.Comment

The buttom commands for running dribble move combos remain backward, as they have been since The Prelude.
