Re: The VC issue - perfectly put in words
My main issue is the bonus stuff in MyCareer. Limiting the ability points to 94 just so you have to buy bonus stuff so you can get to the next category at 95. It's the only way to max your main abilities. This is super lame.Comment

I really wish you guys would understand that these YouTubers are here specifically for your view count and they don't care at all about the game. Controversy = a higher sub count, unfortunately.
Since WHEN has anyone cared about the overall of a player?

So because a created player comes out to an 81 and your normal MyCareer guy comes out to a 91 2K lied?

Re: The VC issue - perfectly put in words
My major issue with VC is that it's not fun and it is poorly implemented.
Why do I have to pay to use the attributes I earned from working out? That's doubly annoying than just having to fake work-out... and most definitely is not fun (the point of a game).
The way you make your MyPlayer now vs the past has completely changed - the only difference between then and now? VC.
VC right now is really the same as Experience Points (EXP) in other videogames. VC is the only thing you can earn in every single mode, therefore it should function more like this:
Remove the concept of "do X over and over again" and replace it with "dump EXP (VC) into X to raise it." This way, I could play the game any way I wanted (offline, online, myteam, play now, etc.) and always be making progress in the game.
Sure, some dude could spend $200 on VC and be done in a day, but that's okay with me as long as I can play the fun parts of the game instead of being forced to play the boring parts (of which there are far too many, hence, VC ruining the game). They could always make certain things attainable via in-game achievements... like if you want Jordan's dunk package, then you gotta beat the 96 Bulls... that'd be way more fun than just paying VC for it.
This game doesn't need a grind, the grind is artificial. It's ruining the fun factor. You can have Progression without boring me to death... I don't consider Zelda a grind even though I need to do a ton of things to obtain all the items - its just the things I have to do are really run and not centered around "Ok, we can add X feature, but will it hurt our VC sales?"
At its purist form, game design is about making a fun game... not figuring out ways to make $$ off of an 8 year old with his parent's credit card. That is one of many ways VC hurts the game.Last edited by SirGaryColeman; 11-23-2016, 05:13 PM.Comment

Re: The VC issue - perfectly put in words
Well it makes you appear like a Super Star but your are just a "little bit better than mediocre" player this year. They kept the overall from previous 2K and limited everything else. Of course this should be pretty clear if you look at your abysmal stats in the player card. So I don't know about lying but they shouldn't slap a 91 or 95 on the player if he is clearly nowhere near that rating. But you know why they did it, because most people won't make a fuss about it if it still says 91 overall. Now imagine what would happen if it would say 81 instead!

You ever stop and think that if you used your voices for game issues that actually mattered how much would get done in terms of post release testing/actual feedback?

It does matte because it cost WAAAY more VC per point now to get to a "81" than it did to get a real 99 in previous years. I don't think you understand you used to be able to take 40 bucks and max out a guy who was a real 99 and now 100 bucks won't even make you a 80. And there is nothing wrong with that? Just like how everything else in the game is somehow way more expansive that it ever was or VC prices almost doubled, they didn't even try to hide it by giving less VC per purchase they just flat out doubled all the prices. And on top of that a lot of guys play "MYCAREER" not park or anything they want it to be fun for them playing offline and it's not very fun when you have one redeeming quality on a guy who is supposed to be the GOAT and then suck at every other ascent of the game.

It's time to settle down and give some real feedback instead of everyone being angry and spouting hate. That isn't what OS is for.

Re: The VC issue - perfectly put in words
I feel very strongly about the other issues. I also feel very strongly about the archetypes that limit my experience. Especially because, as a MyCareer offline player, there was absolutely no reason to make this change. There is absolutely no benefit from it if you play offline MyCareer. None!

Re: The VC issue - perfectly put in words
I understand the issue with the attributes themselves, but the fact that a guy isn't the same OVR? And you guys tried posting a video about it to champion your cause?

To be fair, not everyone is doing that.. so I wouldn't dismiss the point of the thread by only going after people doing that. I also wouldn't pretend that there aren't dumb comments from the other side of the argument either (I see plenty).
I agree, though, we don't gotta be angry at each other... I think we all love the game and just want to see it get better. I really don't see a problem at being "angry" toward the game, though, since it ain't a person.. but I get that the tone can cause others to feel attacked or something.Last edited by SirGaryColeman; 11-23-2016, 05:19 PM.Comment

We just need to make sure it stays on point.

The ovr isn't the problem (At Least to me) it's that it literally take DOUBLE. DOUBLE! What it used to cost to make a 99 player (which means maxing ALL of your stats) to make a 79 or 80. That is a problem. The prices for VC (yes I know it is optional but it is besides the point) has suddenly gone up by ~30% that is a problem! Hurting guys who play career and not park simply to make their attempt at a E-sport less cheesy is a problem.
I don't want a war or anything nor do I think I'm shouting hate, but this is a blatant abuse of the consumer. And I know someone is gonna come say "don't buy the game" but what else is there to buy. No one is spouting hate, some people are just upset that they feel they are being taken advantage of.
Btw not a attack on you or anything but I thought OS was meant to be a place for fans of sports games to be able to have a place to discuss how they feel about the game and share opinions, ideas, and criticisms (constructive of course) with others who play it and maybe even a Dev or two. And I feel like that's what we are doing, sharing how we feel about the game and discussing the problem.

Re: The VC issue - perfectly put in words
now that i've been playing the game for a while, i can tell that many parts of it feel like a horrible grind. escpecially the practices. who actually thought that doing the same thing over and over and over again would be a good idea? i actually enjoy it when i'm playing in a game, but everyhing besides that is horrible and not very motivating. if you want to improve your player though, you are forced to grind the boring, repetitive practices over and over again.Comment
