Re: For those still saying sharpshooters are not op....
I'll copy and paste what I said in the other thread..
The things I would adjust to combat the sharpshooters rather than nerfing them completely (we all know that when 2K nerf things it can swing drastically)..
1) Moving screens need to be implemented as a foul. These are the issues for a lot of the sharpshooters threes.
2) Reduce the effectiveness of their Deep Range Deadeye badge and cut down the percentage of makes when a shot is contested.. Leave the wide open alone with it's percentage because if they are wide open, then that's on you and poor defending.
3) Penalize sharpshooters when they are dribbling and then shooting, remove or make that certain dribble animation be classed as a moving shot and not still reward with a standing shot percentage.
I think with those adjustments it keeps the sharpshooters viable (being wide open and standing) while making the game fairer for others.Football: Manchester United

Re: For those still saying sharpshooters are not op....
I'm not even worried. The second they add that 'dribble penalty' you're talking about, I'll have my Shot Creator ready and doing literally the exact same things and have the same shooting, except now I'll be able to finish around the rim and be much, much faster.Comment

While we are at it, lets nerf everyone's specialty so that we are all truly useless.

Re: For those still saying sharpshooters are not op....
Contested Shot Mid Range: 91
Contested Shot Three: 91 (+ deep range deadeye)
Shot Creator
Contested Shot Mid Range: 79
Contested Shot Three: 70
Same shooting....Comment

Re: For those still saying sharpshooters are not op....
The 'dribble penalty' would make it a Shoot off the Dribble shot, boosting it to 91. Try again. And considering I'd have the benefit of my normal jumpshot animation, those shots would be rather easy with a fast dribble animation.Last edited by Caelumfang; 09-28-2016, 07:18 PM.Comment

Instead of trying to get better, people would rather complain on a forum. Its like 50 Cent said when he was at the airport, today's generation is ****** up.

Re: For those still saying sharpshooters are not op....
If you rank the shoot off the dribble ratings of every guard archetype, only the lockdown defender has a lower shoot of the dribble rating than the sharpshooter:
shot creator = 25/25 bars
slasher = 16/25 bars
playmaker = 15/25 bars
sharpshooter = 11/25 bars
lockdown defender = 7/25
But there are currently loopholes in the animation system and the way that 2K17 judges your shot type that are allowing people to trick the game into thinking that they're taking a standing shot instead of a shot off the dribble. All I am asking is for Visual Concepts to close those loopholes and make the sharpshooter perform like his ratings indicate he should be performing when shooting off the dribble.Comment

Re: For those still saying sharpshooters are not op....
If it was strictly a "Get better" thing, then I wouldn't say a word. As of right now you basically need a Lockdown Defender to stop a sharpshooter.
Despite some previous posts trying to act otherwise, you shouldn't have to have one archetype to stop another completely. It's possible to affect the shot and play in your shirt defense, but they drain contested shots from that distance us nuts.
So, please indulge me for a moment, I get in the sharpshooters grill, get a good shot contest (and I don't mean the phrase pops up, I mean the off balance shot animation proving you contested it), and they drain it. This happens say 3 of 5 times. What else do I need to be "better" at? Legitimately answer me because I have had this happen and just write it off as BS and move on because I can compartmentalize, but how do you get better than absolute perfect defense?
Even then, I want these guys to shoot lights out, just not at the rate they are while contested at a distance.
And, Let me throw this out: They are fixing my build, Slasher, tomorrow. The contested lay up glitch tied with relentless finisher. If Slashers are able to go 22/23 on contested lay ups I'll call for a nerf on that too. This isn't a one way street where I just don't want sharpshooters to succeed. If something heavily favors a clash in that respect, it should be re balanced so the integrity of the class remains, but it's not gamebreak8ng.Last edited by ViolenceFight; 09-28-2016, 07:37 PM.Female Russell Westbrook.

Trust me, you're going to have the same problems if that happens, just with a different class. But now you'll have a much faster player on your hands who'll be able to create that space much better.Last edited by Caelumfang; 09-28-2016, 07:39 PM.Comment

And the Difficult Shots badge renders defenders useless once the space is created and the shot begins, and will always be registered as 'open.' Go check YouTube, and you'll see what I mean.

Basically what you sharpshooters are telling me I need a LDD to prevent people from taking horrible shots and making them?
