In online head-to-head? I would like to see it. See, this is the problem. People overexaggerate like yourself on these forums and the devs take that into account and start nerfing stuff. Taking skill out of the game.

Right now, the things that are skilled based:
    • Shooting (timing)
    • Sticks (dribble moves)
    • Basketball IQ

People who are good with the sticks? Plenty of threads on here asking for a nerf. People who are good shooting? Plenty of threads on here asking for a nerf. If you make everybody dribble really slow, and make shots less skilled-based and more attribute-based, then we have a game that can't showcase elite players and can't differentiate largly between a skilled player and an average player.

      It's really not an exaggeration....

I was shooting 3's with Thad Young in PNO with little caution, and his rating is 60. In previous NBA 2K games, I wouldn't even DARE shoot a 3PT shot with a player with that low of a rating. In previous titles, I would get hesitant if the rating fell below 78.

These people aren't worthy of praise. What you call "skill", is literally nothing more than reaction timing. It's the least skillful part of 2K. Using a screen successfully is more skillful than holding a button. People shouldn't be able to make off the dribble 3s from 35 feet consistently. This idea to make green releases 100% was terrible. IRL, there are shots that you just KNOW are going in, and yet they airball, because guess what? We're humans, not robots.

But from my experience (played 15 Pro-AM games, over 300 parks games), I've only seen a handful of guys just absolute dominate me and my team by shooting.

Only a handful. From all the matches I've played only a handful of players I felt like we couldn't stop. This year, it's about user-skill more than ever. Even more so than attributes. For every player I ran into that could hit deep range bombs consistently, there are five more so that try and fail.

And that's how it should be. This game should and needs to continue to reward user-skill. The skilled players need to stand out against the average player.

No. If it were more skill based, people wouldn't be asking for nerfs. Scrubs are splashing from half court hiding behind BS screens.

Only those that don't want a nerf, are because they're average at best and playing above their actual ability because of the current splash rates.

But what if my 3 is already ridiculously low for my play style? While I do want a slightly decrease in shooting, for mainly Sharp Shooters, I also don't want a nerf because lowering it because of them will make it worse for me to shoot 3s. When it's already streaky now.

I will never understand the street fighter mentality. Its an NBA game. Tony Allen doesnt hit 3's IRL so he shouldnt in an NBA game. I must be missing something. If skill is all that matters why have ratings? Just put everyone's rating at 60 everything and let the most "skill" win.

It validates his belief that he's "good" and everyone is trying to bring "him" down. Not being able to see that the majority of his success stems from an imbalance. The real irony is you can flip his exact crabs in a bucket analogy to explain his behavior.

So is it okay to shoot 100% when wide open?

Smh, if it were so easy as you claim then why doesn't everybody do it? Like I said, only a handful of guys I've seen have showed tremendous shooting capabilities while I've seen 5x more sharpshooters try the same thing and don't achieve similar results.

Dude, your experience doesn't necessarily line up with everyone else's.

Your evidence, like mine is anecdotal at best. The community's collective experience is what we should be paying attention to.

I don't have the data, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that there is a disproportionate amount of sharpshooters created relative to the other archetypes.

I think it need to be changed for Pro-AM. Only because that is supposed to be Sim. Right?

As far as park they should keep it how it is. It is the arcade mode of the game. The ONLY arcade mode of the game.

To keep it 100...with Live gone there's a bigger battle now between the EA "stick skills" crowd that has completely migrated over and the 2K "hardcore sim" crowd. I just hope the guys at 2K remember how they got in this position of dominating...and it damn sure wasn't doing what Live and Madden did/do. The minute 2K takes the mentality of the OP and I start scoring 80 points in games with role players like I used to in Live with Derek Fisher because of my "stick skills" I'm putting down b-ball video games for good...just like I did football.
