Re: Mike Wang 4-28-17 Shooting Changes.

I'm satisfied with Friday's results but now there is a new shooting update for Saturday?

I ran Park with my Playmaker and my teammates included a GC, 6ft5 LDD, Sharp x2, Playmaker.

The GC was 2 for 4 fom corner 3 (all whites)

LDD was a good fifty:fifty shooter and was attempting and making 3s from the arc and the corner

1 Sharp has very streaky games and had a flair for making those juggernaut 3s

The other Sharp was much more shaky and inconsistent and even seem to lose confidence (greens hard to come by). This Sharp is known to be a dominant shooter with or without his Sharp so it was surprising to see him struggle.

For myself, I was greening quite heavily from the top which is my favorite spot in transition, off dribble, and off the catch. Some games I would make multiple green 3s from the top including one game where I wet about 4 or 5 green 3s in a row from the top.

My area of struggle was actually the corner and mid range. My meter is lagging compared to how crisp it used to move and it's definitely affecting my timing in those ranges. I also could rip 3s from limitless prior to Fridays update but I'm definitely more inconsistent from there now to the point I will no longer stand out there for catch and shoot like a sharp - I used to stay around the hash knowing my defender wouldn't trust my shot.

I end up taking my 7th corner 3 attempt before I finally made one. When I ran with the Playmaker is when I finally start to get greens from the corner.

Judging by my opponents: everyone can still shoot but everyone is still liable to have shaky games including myself. Some games I'm ripping of 3 straight 3s and other games I might start 0 for 2. I didn't see any non shooting bigs attempts 3s outside of my GC teammate who was 2 for 4.

    Spoiler

Hopefully these quick turn around tweaks are more than knee-jerk reactions. I feel more time should be given to allow users to sample the new slider effects. Some might tweak their jumpers or start tweaking their shot selections to maintain their 3pt performance.
    Spoiler

There should be more focus on tuning the inside game. Consider the numbers for success in paint and the ratings and badges that are producing those numbers and do the same to fine tune this area of the game.

Well, since yesterday (Friday) I can't make threes. Playmaker who just plays MyCareer. It would be awesome if they could tweak those things just for online modes. SMH

If I'm being honest, the game would play 100% better if Sharpshooters were just removed from the game. It'd bring down the ridiculously high FG%, it'd make legit scoring archetypes like Shot Creators and Post Scorers all the more valuable, and the game overall would just play better.

I'm glad shooting is tougher for non shooting archetypes. No more glass cleaners shooting 3s or playmakers spaming and doing step back 3s.

Disagree. I just think that sharpshooters need badge adjustments. Every single one of their badges directly increase shot percentage in some way.. Corner specialist shouldn't even be a badge, that's more of a tendency thing, and it definitely shouldn't increase shot percentage by the amount that it does..

Let's clear something up. "Sim" isn't fun for the majority of 2k gamers. We are, and will always be, in the minority for wanting realism. Sales and overall customer satisfaction will always be priority over realism. I definitely think that most of the devs want to go the sim direction, but the results would be way more people being unhappy about the game than it would making the few sim gamers happy. It's a tough situation for the devs. They can't do everything that they want to because they answer to the suits who couldn't care less about being sim, and care only about making money. So, for those who want to bash the devs, keep in mind that they aren't solely responsible for the product.

Me and one of my online friends fell out because I asked him to stay in the high post a bit more to space the floor. He's a post scorer PF.

Ima try to be in the high post more and set more off ball screens to help our offense too.

It didnt make sense for him to stay in the high post if he maxed out his 3...if you faced a really good team in pro am, they would just spam X and double team him. He would have been better off sitting in the corner or wing ready to knock down that 3. Now he doesnt really have a choice...Thanks mike

My sentiments exactly...but the only thing is that we shouldnt be charged to mix and arrange our attributes. We should be free to do what we like with our attributes once we earn them. You don't pay for attributes, why should you have to pay to arrange them once earned?#AttributeReallocationSystem2k18

We should get ARS2k18 trending on twitter.

For me, I just spent the last month or so painfully grinding an LDD. I purposely waited until now because I figured they were done messing with the game and I maxed out his 3s and his Shooting off the Dribble.

To max those out, I had to sacrifice maxing out rebounding, agility, post scoring, etc.... things I could use.

My complaint isn't "I can't hit 3s anymore" it's "I wasted my time grinding." You gotta admit, that's not a fun thing to experience in a video game (video games are for fun).

They could fix this easily if they let us re-allocate these Attribute blocks instead of making them permanent.

I haven't played enough to know if having 60 3point shooting in pro-am is useless yet. If it turns out to be useless, then it's gonna suck having 60 3point shooting for no reason.
My dude Rockie still shooting 50% from 3 as a Paint Protector.. It's not broken if it's from the corner with a playmaker's dimer. And you should still have high enough mid range to still be green bean. I have a Post Scorer with max 3 pt (55) that I play on often and this tweak hasn't discouraged me about playing it whatsoever. He's still cash money from mid range and reliable from 3. Doesn't mean that his corner 3 should be a focal point of the offense. That's where the problem lies is people thinking just because they put some points into 3pt as a non-scorer type means they should be able to be cash money.. It shouldn't work like that for any reason. The offense shouldn't be built around getting the lockdown defender the ball in the corner, that is just silly and that's what people are expecting..

Does this apply to the offline game. I was playing a game, and Tony Allen is knocking shots down from mid-range.

Greatest gripe with the offline game is players playing outside of their ratings. I don't have the video, but I'm playing the Spurs in a playoff series and Tony Allen has hit multiple step back threes on me in this series.

The fact that my HOF badged shooter can't green light a. Wide open corner catch and shoot, in a hot zone, using a release that ive had mastered since 2k16, from gold dimer John Wall, in a rookie mycareer game tells me they went too far. I believe the shooting has been too easy all year and I'm all for more realism, but that is getting a little carried away.

I laughed so much playing walk on last night at how many shots these guys were missing from 3. Played against a couple of dribble spamming playmakers and was racking up rebounds every time they clanked a shot off the rim.

And this is what we call an overreaction. It's this kind of thinking that has made the community an absolute joke this year.

                              Players miss shots.

                              Players miss wide open shots.

Stop expecting to green light every single shot you take.

Making a ridiculous statement and then adding "I'm all for realism" at the end of it doesn't make it any less ridiculous.

Lol you accuse me of overreacting as you overreact in your reply. Stop the sanctimonious drivel for a second and try to understand what you read. I'm not expecting every shot to be green. I guess my main issue is that you shouldn't be able to sag off of sharps, playmakers, or shot creators like people are since the update dropped. Realism is good to an extent, but if you want elite sharps only hitting 40ish% max in 5 min quarters/games to 21, there's not going to be any point in perimeter defense since there's a 60+% chance its coming off.
