As you can see above, it's nowhere near a 'fluff piece'....that's not what Franchise does or ever has done....

You should really familiarize yourself with some of these guys before you go throwing this around in multiple threads...

Guys, I know it sounds corny, but we are not told what to say, how to react, etc. to 2K's showcase yesterday. They were very candid and receptive, and anyone saying that "they don't care" or "they don't get it" are truly naive and out of touch with what's really going on at that studio. Why are we invited when I admitedly don't play the game as much as some of you? Because I'm not a DB. Pretty simple. Would you want those guys hanging around your work all day?

About them not caring or not getting it: Nothing could be further from the truth. We must also understand that nothing is ever going to be perfect--hell, even going to a real NBA game isn't exactly as I envisioned every time (damn tall guy in front of me!), but that's life.

Enjoy the fact that you have a team of folks who care about this game and the community. Being positive is not fluff, but I will say that being negative instead of constructive will turn folks away from you in the gaming community (Twitter mute button!), so don't do it.

        Work together...peace, love, all that!

The court seemed wider and the long pass was probably too much of a viable weapon in the current build.
This might be because the players look more slimmer and athletic instead of looking like oompa loompas on the court. Also nice to read that he played on broadcast cam....good read

                Spoiler

Point is, I get that, as always, there is a lot of blind pre release hype and fire emojis...but some of these guys really take the time to be insightful and ask the tough questions.

I figured this would be the case because I played 2k16 recently and the court looked bigger then it does in 2k17 for obvious reasons, but more court space is always a plus in my book.

Judging by the fact that he didn't mention any changes to it in the (forbes) article, i'm guessing the stone-wall defense is still in the game

This was discussed. Court is 100% to scale, regardless of view.

They said some of the perception of a smaller court comes from playing in Park/Pro-Am where everyone has maxed-out wingspans.

To be fair, a few hours with the game wouldn't be enough to properly assess that kind of thing. He also mentioned that the build he played wasn't the final or even current build.

As many others have said, a lot of this stuff is mostly just a more in-depth reveal, but the community, and time, will tell how things really are.

Here's a reasonable concern though: he said they were still tweaking stuff a lot. Which is fine if they aren't happy with what they see. But one of the big issues with last year's game was that they would tweak a variety of things throughout the year, and a whole lot of us thought to ourselves "I wish I had done something different with my MyCareer player but it's too late now" or people adjusting sliders in offline franchises, etc.

I cant get too pumped about any dribbling improvements until I know if this has been addressed....I do know that they heard the complaint loud and clear....we will see...

So uh...how is getting back on defense? I find that backpeddle animation hinders the defensive players movement. They need to get back on D rather than getting stuck in that animation.

This is one of my top concerns. I don't exactly love 2K17, but I know what it is now -- I know how to adapt to certain things and what will and won't work.

But I preordered it and played it from the beginning last year and the game is much different now than it was then. They made so many changes that made me have to tweak my sliders and playstyle multiple times. Stuff was constantly tweaked. Patch to patch the game would slide too much in on direction or another, IMO.

I'm still very hesitant to pick up 2K18 before a few months have passed, just because I don't know what the game will be like after the first few patches hit. I'm hoping the game is much more stable and ready out of the box this year and they don't release nearly as many patches, but I can't bank on that in this day and age.

Still, the Forbes writeup was a nice look and I trust the guy's views. We'll see how it all pans out moving forward.
                              Any comments are welcome.

Sounds as if the shooting system is still the same. I thought they said they were taking elements from other 2Ks this year? Any word on if greens are 100 percent makes now?
