Re: NBA 2K18 Video - Developer Diary: The Art Behind the Game
I didn't play Atari much but I played all the games from the late 80's & early 90's. I never thought I'd see a day when the game is far enough along that people are requesting accurate stretch marks & knee wraps. I'm impressed.

So far it looks good af I am impressed with the graphics. If I had to rate the current gen console graphics.
2K14 > 2K18 > 2K16 > 2K15 > 2K17
I made a video with all in-game shots from the trailer so yall dont have to do split second pauses to look at em.

Re: NBA 2K18 Video - Developer Diary: The Art Behind the Game
Oh absolutely. I was more referring to the amount hanging over the waistband than anything else. It's not a huge deal, and it looks considerably better already this year. But it would be nice to see more variety in uniform fit between players. Of course, I also don't know how much work would need to go into that, and what kind of resources it would take.
What do you think about the 2k17 Durant's shirt overhang?
The following isn't directed at anyone specific. Just throwing it out there because it relates to anything, including people talking about "speed boost." Speed boost is such a vague term. The following 4 gifs (NBA2k15 vs NBA2k17) is why it's always better to be more descriptive. NBA2k17 KD had tighter fitted jerseys and there is basically no jersey physics. NBA2k15 KD had jersey physics. Had individuals been more specific about exactly what part of the jerseys needed to be adjusted, then that would have given the art department more to work with. As it stands, even slim tight jersey have jersey physics.
I'm so, so, so glad, ecstatic, elated, thrilled, _____ (insert all synonyms for jubilation) that real jersey physics are back in full effect for NBA2k18.
Spoiler
Curry tight fitting jersey physics
Melo tight fitting jersey physics.
Dribble Jersey Physics
NBA2k15 jersey dribble physics
NBA2k17 jersey dribble - no jersey physics, and this could be due to people saying jerseys need to fit tighter, as a result this is what we got.
Shot Jersey Physics
NBA2k15 jersey shot physics
NBA2k17 jersey shot - no jersey physics

The details looks amazing. The models look much much better.
Tee one thing that really stands out tho that I don't like is how small they made these guys waists and butts (I know, here comes the jokes). Sure, it may work with some players, but not most.
Lillard just looks weird. No butt at all. Size 30 waist.
And Dray is a big boy. In 2K he has tiny lower body.

Please keep the comparison gifs and pics coming. Whether it's 2k18 vs 17, 16, 15, or 14. Love seeing how the game has changed and evolved over the years.Comment

2k put some work in for sure on these graphics, very impressed love the direction the Art department took this year. Not sure if it was mentioned and I could be wrong but on that clip of Lillard guarding Isaiah it looked like his hand effected Thomas jersey when it went across it, that's attention to detail.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

Dwight Howard looks better than the first screenshot released. Jersey physics. Got to love the jersey physics.
