The thing that's really stupid is that your player in mycareer is considered a star when entering the league ie. Freq, Prez and now DJ but yet you're rated a 55 and can't even make simple jump shots or layups.

I'm sure none of this year's rookies even in the second round or undrafted is rated that low.

This is what I do mostly but due to that fake coach showing up I just couldn't stomach playing all the way. Yeah VC is easy to earn....im sitting on 200k for 2k17 lol

Going to do the same this year. Just spend 20 bucks on VC then grind the rest of the way. No biggie...

I'm getting the Shaq Legends Edition, I'll be using the 100 000 VC to get going and then get into the grind.

And you're making a useless post again. Nobody told you to follow me around.

Thank you Housh and Poopador. Not sure how many times I have to say the same thing but have my point ignored or misunderstood.

Or maybe some of you guys just won't stop unless everybody is as satisfied as you are.

So I got the same advice for you guys : yall happy? Cool. Nobody holding a gun to your head to read or react to what we say. People bitch about complainers but it's the people who complain about complainers who are worse.

                  See, you don't read.

The post you quoted me in doesn't reference VC. Most of my complaints in this thread haven't really been only about VC. And no, this isn't about my lack of patience.

Just go away. You're not interested in this topic besides wanting to call people kids so why are you in here? Go complain about editing clothes. I promise I won't annoy you in there.

Don't really care about overall...Just gonna buy enough VC to get me to the mid-high 70's then go after the badges I want

                    Badges > Overall

You aren't forced to buy VC but bro yes you are. The no VC grind probably requires 5 times the time commitment to get to a 99 over than if you start off at 85. Time is the most important thing a person has at the end of the day. Not money. We as an American culture value our time above all.

Also if this wasn't greed driven as you say 2k would show us. Maybe they'd only let you buy 10,000 VC a month. Or maybe players who haven't bought any VC get access to special badges in January or something. Aka if this wasn't about greed and 2k didn't want you to buy VC they'd add some incentive to not doing it.

To me it's pretty clear VC is a money grab and most of us seem to be ok with it for now

Nah like I explicitly stated in my post I don't condone pay to win.
I hate side ways marketing strats to make ppl feel they have to spend money to compete.
                        I said that.

I know VC is a money grab man...I get all that. I don't know if you understood my post or not.
My main thought is you don't have to buy it. I'm not saying it's not all about money.
2k is a business. Their main goal is profit. If ppl buy. Then they will sell it.

You say time is valuable and that's true but also just because you or some ppl wanna be an 85 from the jump doesn't mean everyone else does. Sure it saves time but at the cost of money.

Like I said 1 of my best friends/brothers has NEVER bought VC, ever. Since it was introduced. Because he feels its a waste of money when you can earn it by playing the game which you should be doing anyway. Yes it make take longer but there's more satisfaction in building your player up from the ground than buying VC and starting at an 85 just because other ppl are doing it.

Last year I went the no VC route and went to the park on day 1. Faced numerous 85s. I played redcityboi who was running with his crew and they were all 85 lol. We won with some 60 rated players. So for me personally. I don't plan to buy VC this year I just plan to grind and play the game in my free time and get to 85 or whatever when I can.

Bottom line VC IS optional. You're not locked out of any modes due to VC.
It doesn't cost VC to play park or myCareer or train your player. So it's a non issue for me.
Now like I've said. I agree with you. It's a money grab. Of course.

And I wasn't saying it's not greed. It is to an extent
But ppl shouldn't call needing 200k to upgrade to a 85 greed driven because it's not as if the only way to get VC is to buy it. Minus saving time there's nothing you gain from buying VC besides having an 85 overall to start. If someone is trash on the sticks they'll be trash with an 85 overall lol

I agree with this part. Similar to how a game can code: "if you use these cheats provided, you will not unlock achievements", it would be great if 2k could code "if you purchase VC, you do not have access to these badges, etc".

... buuuuuuuuuuuuut no one has the time in their day to do that even if it were available ammirite??

We play this game for fun gentlemen. Final Fantasy isn't supposed to be a 4 hour story, GTA isn't supposed to take 4 hours, "blah blah different genre blah blah" a game is a game and it is there for our enjoyment and the game can be as long as the developer chooses.

What's the common MyCareer complaint? No incentive to play past season 1. Lol so people want an even lonnnnnnger story mode.

We play the game for entertainment, so "grinding" is playing games. "It's longer that way", it is. Good thing they don't charge VC for games to play. Good thing they don't charge VC for Season 2 of your MyCareer.

You make VC doing nearly everything other than roster editing (that would be GOALS lol) but because "I don't like it that way" lol 2k is trying to cater to 10 million people, be aware that your voices are heard because you can now (as requested) level your character and gain VC by not touching ANYTHING/ANY MODE other than the Neighborhood. Literally walk your character onto the street, and you're about to starting leveling him up.

Now, if 2k were to take away options of gaining VC (you no longer gain VC in MyLeague/MyGM/PlayNowOnline/MyCareer/2kApp/Blacktop/ etc) that would be a different topic. However, 2k is adding ways in which VC can be earned lol there's really no incentive to buy VC this year other than "I want a higher level because bananas". Because 2k has added another 10 some-odd ways getting VC to the game without ever opening your wallet. Yet again.

Wow some people are dense. Dolphins guy is right for those of us that only buy the game to play a specific mode or two. It is way too much of a grind to make it appealing.

FIFA has a much better system. It should be that you gain attributes as you play and you earn skill points to put towards badges. You start as an 80 and it takes longer to go up from there. You can also change your position and body type! That way you can grind and it doesn't lock you into a certain type.

The worst part about 2K is I can grind for a month, then it turns out the dude I made is not competitive online so I have to make a new build, and do this boring grind again. It is mind numbing. If you could just switch your guy whenever you wanted, it would make grinding way more tolerable. I know they won't do it because they want people to buy more VC, but this would make it way better.

Maybe MyCareer and Park/ProAm would have to be separated but I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. That way you are better as you grind, but still good enough to play online.

Yes, they've added another 10 some-odd ways of getting VC, but it still takes a lot of time to earn it. You are a high school level player playing against NBA players at the start of My Career. Want to level up? You need VC. Want to change your jump shot? VC. New free throw? VC. Headband? VC.

You need VC for literally every single thing in My Career, and if you don't have hours upon hours to grind, you have three choices: Pay for VC, level up as you go, but be stuck with default animations and no accessories, or use the VC you earn to pick out new animations and accessories, but be stuck with high school attributes.

They are alienating people who don't want to or don't have the time to spend 10-20 hours a week playing their game. Not to mention people who don't pick up the game at launch.

What's the alternative? Make it easier and flood the game with 99's?

Because they provide you a way to skip the grind, pay out of pocket. It can be seen as a money-grab, but it can also be seen as a viable alternative.

It just seems as though, they won't have time to play even when they get to the overall they feel they need to be at, and which again, everyone is over-exaggerating the overall it takes to win at this game, and over-exaggerating the time it takes to get to a competetive level.

Plus with so many people skipping the story mode this year (because you no longer have to even play it) you're more likely to see a bunch of 55-65 overalls who do nothing but run around the Neighborhood. So there's your competition, pretty equal playing field.
