Zach said the white cap unlocks are linked to your players abilities, so I'm guessing a pure playmaker (as an example) would probably max ball control/passing/speed first, until the user would be left grinding his 95/96/97 playmaker just for upgrades in post scoring and all the stuff you wouldn't need/use.

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
The individual in the stream link did confirm that you earn more XP playing on higher difficulties in Career: the XP payout will increase (multiply?) with the difficulty.

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
I can confidently say that wasn't a legit conversation.
I think your idea of big business is warped. That's where my comments come in.
now if you were forced to buy VC to even play ProAm/MyCareer...you might have a point.
You aren't forced to buy VC...that's a choice. You are in control over the choice. They even give you an option to play the game to acquire VC.
You don't have to buy VC...You DON'T. HAVE. To Buy. VC.
The design decision could have been made because they want you to play the other modes to EARN VC. Right? Or maybe that doesn't fit in with the sinister narrative about them being greedy.
I'm simply providing a counter point.
let me explain something to you.
You do realize you dont have to by brand name products from food to clothing to cars. Yet people do. Do you think just because customers dont HAVE TO buy these name brand products, the name brands are not doing everything in their power to get you to part with your hard earned money and purchase their products? If you say No. then you have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to business.
You do realize the people at the top have meetings every qtr, every 6 mos, and every year about "how can we increase revenue". They brainstorm and come up with a bunch of ideas on how the think they can reach their goals for the qtr, semi annually, and annually. these goals are usually tied to people's bonuses. and can be tied to your next pay raise or promotion. Now I'm not saying they have to be shady about it. But I'm saying lets not act like they can't be or lets not act like business havent been caught being shady. video game companys have been caught doing that for some time. not all but some. dont think 2k is not a business like other businesses. We're speculating on why would they do such a thing. And right now I can't help them. I can't think of one good legit non (i'm just trying to increase revenue ) reason to do that.Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
What's the incentive to even play HOF anymore? Was the 1,200 or so VC I got from HOF too much? They had to nerf that too? Jesus, the 2x HOF modifier has been in the game for years. Are they hurting for VC that badly? This is utterly laughable.
I'd love to see what this mode looks like 5 years from now.Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
Lol and that might be the last straw for me. The nickel and diming they're doing with VC is pathetic. This combined with the 100 VC "bonus" garbage from the app is absolutely disgusting.

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
Well 12k views here and not to mention the tweets and 2k forum posts. Looks like that's enough proof for the non believers that this move was a total money grab. And now it will be swept under the rug as the vc rakes in.

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
Ya, I already figured they'd say that as it would trick people to think it's such a process, when it reality it just buys time to eat up the vc from the early players. Nothing new under the sun.

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
2K got me.
I tried following their spread sheet on the dribbling stats, it's not reliable.
Really bummed I wasted cash on this player. I probably will never spend money with 2K as openly again.Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
Everybody needs to hold on creating their players until everything has settled and probably patched. Imo 2k has crossed the line with their VC model, some features like not previewing new haircuts are outright scamming...Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
I haven't bought the game yet but my bro has; he said he went back into player appearance screen and it reset his hair, he went back to barbers to get it switched and found out you don't actually own them, as they wanted another 1k to get his hairstyle back. Unless that's a glitch that 2k didn' find pre-release.Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
Nothing is convenient in 2K18, can't preview hairstyles, ur gear before an NBA game, walk in ur closet and u blindly put on clothes, upgrade ur player and have no idea what the rating is, buying shoes and equipping them are tied 2 ur rating, just seems like a huge VC grab rather than something that's fun to play.
The CAP system is horrible, menus are way worse this year, sure the gameplay is good but I kinda miss 2K17, because 2K18 has taken a lot of steps backward where they shouldn't have.Comment
